Overall great stay

Overall a great smooth stay. Highs: The views over the city The staff communication and friendliness. The room was good size Comfy beds Location is up a hill but not an issue Close to main areas Lows: Sadly bathroom hadn't been cleaned and shower was dirty. Dishwasher was full and not cleaned Hot rooms even with windows open. However the above didn't really effect us. Would stay again.

Excellent check in, really fast and helpful. The building used to be an old military hospital, so the rooms are massive and well equipped. Lyon is on your doorstep. The views from the 3rd floor were excellent and the windows big to enjoy them. You are on a hill so if you have a problem getting u steep hill then that could be a problem. The parking is limited to about 15 cars, but very private, you need to drive in front of the hotel and park around the side. Looked pretty classy!

Beware of painful pillows!

Check-in was good and the location was lovely (nice views) though it takes work to carry luggage up the steep hill from the parkades nearby. Still, great location. Our biggest problem was the comfort. The bed was very uncomfortable with the worst pillows we had in France. Neither of us slept very well at all, which really compromised our next day of travel. To be honest, this was the only real problem, but it was a significant one. If the comfort of the bed / pillow was resolved, I'd be very satisfied with this accommodation.

I love the city of Lyon and this is the perfect hotel for me. Amazing views, helpful staff. Hotel is very clean and very comfortable. Very relaxed atmosphere but staff are all very professional. Couldn't reccomend it more. Very close to everything, you do have to walk a steep hill to get there but definitely worth it.

No food or drink in hotel, apart from breakfast and you have to go down a steep hill & back to get any. Wi fi not working in room and only intermittent in reception area Reception staff not too helpful. Interesting old building but would not stay there again because of location.

The hotel is more like a apt hotel and does what is says on the tin. The bathroom could have been cleaner. It is obviously cleaned properly after each stay but it needs a deeper clean.

Great location, price and staff

Great location walkable from all attractions. Great views of the city from the hotel terrace. Staff were very friendly and spoke English to make up for my disappointing attempts at French. Room was a bit cramped with not much privacy from the street outside but overall would recommend for it's pricepoint, convenience and staff exp.

In the thick of Lyon

This hotel is located high up on a steep hill and so has spectacular views over Lyon, however for me the best thing about this hotel is how it is in the thick of Lyon. I felt I was at its heart, where local bars, theatres and residents are,,, and to get to the touristy parts you have to walk through beautiful and sometimes dark windy streets with hidden pub and restaurant gems!

A bit of a barracks, but good value

This is a "Residence" rather than a hotel, and had the feel of student flats in a huge converted old building halfway up a very steep hill with narrow pavements. It is between 2 metro stations (line C Hotel de Ville to Cuire), but quite a long walk from either. Best to get a cab if you have luggage. Or get metro to Croix-Rousse and walk down pedestrian steps if you don't. Leaving the hotel go left down the steep hill to Croix Paquet. If you arrive after 9 pm you'll find the driveway gate locked and no clear sign indicating the hotel, just a small illuminated bell. Once through you have to negotiate another automatic glass door and buzzer operated by reception. Rooms are fine, with well equipped kitchen units and big bathroom. My TV didn't work, but I wasn't fussed. Free and fast internet. Bed and bedding very basic. Nice view of city the other side of the Rhone. No in-house restaurant apart from breakfast, and the nearest ones are up that hill at Croix-Rousse. And any large shops for provisions are a bit of a trek. But even so it was very good value (as was the Paris Bellambra I recently stayed in).
