Many activities can be undertaken directly from the property including fantastic walks, mountain bike routes and other outdoor pursuits.
The Space:
A substantial 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom property taking up the whole of the ground floor of this substantial lakeland home which can also be booked as 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom via our other listing.
Surrounded by private gardens and enjoying simply wonderful Lakeland Views over rolling countryside with fields and woodland guiding the eye to the higher Coniston mountain range beyond.
With its own private entrance the property has a contemporary layout ideally suited to both families and groups of friends. A spacious entrance hall with ornate quarry tiles leads into the most beautiful open plan kitchen dining space with hues of blues, greens and grey. A contemporary kitchen features everything to make a light breakfast or gourmet meal whether perching at the informal island seating or the restored refectory table. Rich Herringbone parquet flooring is laid throughout the ground floor spaces.
Off the open plan space lies each of the properties individual designed bedrooms each inspired by boutique, rich colour palettes that could easily be featured on the front cover of vogue living. All bedrooms have their own en-suite with large power showers. One bedroom also has its own private hall so the bathroom can be used as the family bathroom for the property. One bedrooms has a king size bed and the other a Superking that can also be two singles.
The gorgeous lounge with rich harris tweed fabrics, dramatic bold curtains and cosy log burning fire leads out to a large private terrace perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks looking out to the fabulous landscapes that surround the property.
Guest Access:
Guests have use of the whole property throughout their stay with parking for two cars as well as a private sloped garden and spacious terrace.
The Neighborhood:
Located in the hamlet of Far Sawrey, walks and outdoor pursuit are in abundance from the doorstep. The cuckoo brow inn is located less than 5 minutes from the property and has a wide range of cask ales, extensive wine list and quality home cooked food. The village of Hawkshead is a less than ten minute drive away with convenience store, bars, restaurants and the world famous Hawkshead Relish. This is also the entrance to Grizedale Forest whereby there is some incredible mountain bike tracks and forest trails.
Hawskhead and the surrounding area is famous for the inspiration of the Author Beatrix Potter, her farm hill top is within easy walking distance as well as the tower bank arms, a famous watering hole for the author. Much of the land surrounding Far Sawrey was purchased by Beatrix in order to protect the local farming communities and the nature that inspired so many of her books. This was later donated to the National Trust who now look after the land in her honour.
The neighbouring towns of Ambleside & Windermere are also a short drive away, and offer a great collection of Artisan Shops and restaurants.

The property lies in a rural location so travelling by car is probably easier. However the Car ferry is only a few minutes away to access the popular town of Bowness-on-Windermere, there is also a fabulous walk to claife viewing station whereby you can catch the ferry as a foot passenger. In the summer Windermere Lake Cruises offer a passenger service from Low Wray to either Ambleside or Windermere.
