The Space:
At the end of lane, and above the tiny Dartmoor village of Sheepstor and 4.4 miles from bustling Yelverton is The Meeting House @ Yellowmead Farm. The cottage offers two couples a truly wonderful experience in the heart of Dartmoor, Devon. This detached, stone barn conversion sits alongside the Owners farmhouse and has been thoughtfully renovated to provide high quality accommodation for four guests, with a reverse-level layout and stylish décor. Admire the beautiful garden and moorland vistas beyond after parking up, before making your way into the property's lobby, with a double height ceiling alluding to the lofty first-floor living space. Discover a utility room on the ground floor, along with the two immaculate bedrooms; take a right into a double room featuring a beautiful en-suite shower room, or choose to occupy the master bedroom on the left, containing an impressive super-king-size bed and boasting a large en-suite bathroom, complete with a bathtub for relaxing soaks, and a large walk-in shower enclosure. Travel up the timber staircase to come to the lavish open-plan living space, heading into the kitchen area to rustle up delicious meals for your loved ones, with integrated appliances, a breakfast bar, and attractive decoration, it's a wonderful space to enjoy evening drinks following a fun-filled day. Move over to the seating to enjoy a good book, with a dining table beyond here to gather around for your lively dinner parties, and a sitting area with a Smart TV to enjoy from the inviting sofas. A beautiful garden awaits you outside, enclosed and featuring a large pond, with several seating areas spread out over decking, patio and lawned areas, all with the gorgeous backdrop of the rolling Dartmoor landscape. Being on a farm location, expect to see the cows and sheep grazing in the fields, and find solace in the quiet location, reached via a private lane, with no phone reception allowing you to truly stay 'off the grid'. Explore the tranquil surroundings of the nearby Burrator Reservoir which is lined with enchanting woodland; spend an afternoon walking along the waterside and taking in the scenery, or purchase a permit from the garage at Yelverton to delight in some bank fishing for rainbow and brown trout. Embark on a walk to the top of Sheeps Tor where you'll relish stunning views over the Burrator Reservoir, before continuing on to see the Yellowmead Stone Circles, afterwards reaching Gutter Tor. Venture over to The Garden House, perfect for gardening enthusiasts, to see the many diverse plants spread across a 10-acre garden, with around 6,000 plant species and different themed areas, it makes a splendid trip. Revere the history and heritage within the walls of the National Trust's Buckland Abbey, a centuries-old abbey now boasting an estate museum and beautiful gardens, with marked trails through the surrounding woodland. The village of Yelverton is home to the nearest shops, so head here when you're in need of ingredients or essentials, as well as a local pub to enjoy a refreshing pint in following a day of walking. The bustling town of Tavistock is within easy reach too, well worth a visit for the Tavistock Pannier Market, an indoor market displaying the best local produce, crafts, and local businesses, along with waterside walks to be had along the River Tavy and Tavistock Canal. Enjoy a peaceful break to the luscious surroundings of The Meeting House @ Yellowmead Farm in the Dartmoor National Park.
