Norfolk - Sunny, pet-friendly 2 bedroom home in quiet Right of Way

Please note for New Years bookings you must ENQUIRE first before booking as we have different requirements for this period.
Norfolk Bach is a modern 2 bedroom home situated in popular Mangawhai Heads. It is a easy 2min drive to the estuary and a 5 min drive to the surf beach. The local shops, cafes, Mangawhai Activity Zone and the Golf Course are only a short walk, easy bike or a 2 min drive.
Norfolk Bach has a great indoor/outdoor living area to relax in the sun or shade during the daytime and enjoy a BBQ in the evening. It is at the end of a nice quiet right of way so it is great to have an oasis to return to when Mangawhai gets busy. Also for those that like their coffee fix there is a coffee grinder and a filter machine.
For winter stays there is also now a Heat Pump to keep things cosy.
Notes:
1. The property has now been subdivided as shown in the photo from the front of the house showing the new fence
2. The maximum occupancy of 5 includes use of a large sofa as a bed
3. The property is pet friendly but not fully fenced
LINEN OPTIONS: To keep your holiday more affordable, for this property we offer linen as an optional extra for guests who prefer to bring their own. If you choose to bring your own linen, you will need to supply top and bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels and bath mats. Pillows, Duvets and Duvet covers will be provided.
Alternatively, a rental linen package is available for $25 per person. To request this service, please add a note to your booking specifying the number of people requiring linen and which beds you would like prepared.
BOOKING PAYMENT: Although Bookabach/VRBO take your credit card details, all booking payments are made to Bach Stay NZ Limited who manage this property for the owners. Once your booking is approved, we will send you a payment email with a choice of credit card payment (a 3% surcharge applies) or bank transfer (no charges). Please note the amount stated as 'Deposit Paid at Property' on the Bookabach/VRBO quote is actually a refundable bond that will be collected as part of the accommodation payment, it is not collected at the property as the wording suggests.

Perfect retreat

Fabulous place and location, so quiet and peaceful. We loved the open airy feel of the place and the space surrounding it. The concrete floors were a bonus for the dogs as well as the size of the garden. Basic in terms of decor/furnishings but not a detractor at all. Plenty of crockery, kitchen equipment etc. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Great bach atmosphere quirky kitchen but fully functional with everything you need The heat pump warms the space really well and the couch a real feature Location puts you in the hub of Mangawhai sitting between the village and the heads We would definitely book again

Neat dog friendly house

Neat little house with everything needed for a few days in Mangawhai. Quiet neighbourhood, easy to find, nice flat garden for the kids to play in while parents watch from the big sofa. We chose the place as it was dog friendly, and it was perfect for a first time away with our dog. Thanks!

Short break in Mangawhai

Great service through bachstay with good communication and checking in with me soon after arriving. Great location, open and plenty of natural light with windows and sliding doors galore. Sit on the couch and be prepared not to be able to move - brilliant coma couch. The house needs a little love in the kitchen and a few minor items but nothing to take away from this property.

Great location and property. easy to get to supermarket and really close to the kids play ground and skate park. House had everything we needed comfortable beds. Shower great. Area fantastic great stay. Only thing two down points would be in one room the photos online had a double and a single and we got there and that room had 2 single beds. Which said single beds but we’re actually king singles so my single sheet didn’t really fit. Plus the fridge was soooo loud and made weird noises often and was hard to get to sleep.

Mangawhai weekend

The house was spacious and warm and we liked the big couch. However the front door had an unusual locking mechanism and no instructions were given so until we eventually contacted the property manager we had to go out without locking the door. Also we weren’t told there was a king size bed and two king singles. I don’t remember if this was on the listing but we’ve never rented a Bach with these bed sizes so I think it needs to be highlighted in one of the many emails we received prior to arriving. There was definitely a minimal feel to the Bach ie not many curtains and only 3 breakfast bowls so we couldn’t all have breakfast together! Also only 4 dining chairs - when we arrived there were only 3 as someone had put one in the bedroom but we needed four with the dining table so meant clothes had to be on the floor as there also weren’t any clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Someone had turned the fridge down to the coldest setting so all of our food turned icy including the milk & veges! I think it would be a good place to rent when there’s some instructions and a few more of the essentials.

BEAUTIFUL GETAWAY

Beautiful home away from home, great open living area leading out to the deck and backyard with a BBQ. Great for our wee pups we took with us! Only criticism I would say would be getting wifi and more sturdy beds and kitchen appliances being cleaned between each group. Overall experience was spot on, easy to deal with property managers and a great weekend away.

Norfolk bach stay

We had an amazing time away with friends and family and our 2 dogs. We found 3 beaches close by that we could take the dogs to off lead which was perfect. The bach itself was comfy with a good bathroom and outdoor shower. The only downsize was the double bed which to be honest was pretty rough and the fridge which struggled to keep anything cold in the heat. I would recommend bringing a portable fridge to avoid food waste and promote food safety if the fridge isn’t upgraded. All in all though, a really successful holiday!

Great space for big groups and pet friendly

This property is located in a great spot, gets lots of sun and had a big front yard for outdoor activities. However the cleanliness of the place is not great.
