About this property
1st Floor Historic Limestone Property Downtown
Skip the ordinary Airbnb with our historic Schlyer Place! Named after the gentleman who built this stone house. Enjoy the Queen pillow top mattress (medium firmness), and a full size pillow top mattress with medium firmness.
For extra guests, a queen sized firm pull out couch.
Enjoy our 100% organic cotton sheets to keep you cool and comfortable. Turkish cotton towels are plush but dry quickly. We offer high speed WIFI, Roku TV to log into all your favorites, in apartment air conditioning and controls and driveway parking.
We provide fresh local coffee, assorted tea, creamer, and organic eggs fresh from our hobby farm. Don’t forget basic cooking supplies for all your cooking needs. Cold filtered water in the refrigerator and snacks.
Locally made honey and jam can be found when in season from the Farmer’s Market! All natural bathroom products and epsom salt for your relaxation. Enjoy the antique newspapers found during renovations and local art!
Enjoy the evening with our outdoor fire pit, the amazing wrap around front porch and charcoal grill. *All outdoor spaces are shared with the second floor apartment. To guarantee the fire pit or grill please book the entire house which is listed on Airbnb :)
We also have laundry facilities in the basement that guests may utilize.
***When writing your review we would love to get a 5 star rating. Please let us know of any issues during your stay so we have the opportunity to try to rectify it. Your stay is very important to us!
This stone house is over 100 years old. Although we would love to host everyone, please make sure to read through the entire listing and photos to make sure it's the right space for your needs :)
Guests may access the Schlyer Place Apartment, the basement laundry, the wrap around porch and the front yard. Please note that the basement laundry, backyard, front yard, and wrap around porch may be shared with other guests. Your apartment is completely private however.
-Please note there is another apartment above you with historic wood floors. Expect walking noises and murmuring if other guests are present. If you are a light sleeper, each bedroom is equipped with a white noise machine that has various tones and sounds to drown out walking noises above.
-Guests must clean up after themselves in the kitchen and strip bedding before checkout
-Spills and puddles of water must be cleaned up promptly including the bathroom. This will help preserve our floors for years to come.
-We are a very small safe college town but have motion detection cameras on your driveway parking spot only, for your piece of mind and security.
-PETS will be considered on a CASE BY CASE BASIS. There will be an added $30 a night fee, per pet per night, if we accept your pet request. You must inquire about your pet before booking. Pet owners must pick up pet waste from outside spaces and pets are not allowed on furniture in the home.
Grill and Fire pit: Wood and Charcoal not provided. The fire pit may not be used on high wind days or if we are in a burn ban. Fire pit and grille must be completely put out before check out. Please MOVE GRILL AWAY from house when using.
For extra guests, a queen sized firm pull out couch.

About the host
Hosted by Larissa Munsch

We love anything old or quirky! Kris teaches construction management at FHSU, is a home inspector, writer (The Birdhouse Project) and saver of anything old. He has restored over 50 houses and was featured in This Old House magazine. Larissa also conducts home inspections but from the environmental aspect - radon, mold, and carbon monoxide. Larissa enjoys researching and designing the old houses that they work on together. Larissa also runs @oldhouselove on Instagram. When we aren't working on our projects or inspecting we enjoy playing with our two dogs and traveling. We are currently restoring our Craftsman Farmhouse in which we live.
