About this property

4BR/2BA Kona Rainforest Oasis at Beach in Coffee Country

Escape with the whole family to The Eden of Kona, which has lots of room for fun. Complementary paddleboard, beach toys, and board games - quality time waiting for you! Fantastically located a 15-minute drive to famous Kona white sand beaches and airport. Fall asleep in the cooler rainforest to the sound of singing frogs, then wake up and swim with the dolphins. Pick tropical fruits and flowers in our unspoiled botanical garden - passionfruit, lemon, guava, and avocado. Uniquely, on Wednesday evenings, a complementary concierge service from a local Hawaiian is offered. He will provide you with a tour of your rainforest, teach you some Hawaiian words, and you will make your own lei! Maybe you can have it all!

Enjoy this peaceful place to stay. Windows on almost every wall bring the beauty of Hawaii into the home. Take a step away from your busy life and relax at this hidden jewel, your own private garden of Eden. This unique house was designed by an artist.

The master bedroom and our 4th bedroom have sweeping ocean views. Our second and third bedroom have lovely views of the rainforest. Added privacy, fourth bedroom is a stand-alone room behind main house with own entrance.

Guests have freedom to enjoy entire 2 acre rainforest. Carport and unit below house are private. There are 2 full bathrooms in main house. Then, the third bathroom - take a shower as nature intended - to die for hot shower under the stars, not to mention additional toilets and sink. There is an outside sitting area on back house deck.

The home is conveniently located close to many amenities which include a plethora of dining options (including the famous Sam Choy), a movie theater and a shopping center, all within a fifteen-minute drive. Numerous resort amenities are available just to the South. The Keauhou Bay area offers great ocean access, scuba diving, and sailing, catamaran, fishing charters, sea kayaking and outrigger canoeing.

Just a few miles down the shoreline you will find Kahalu’u Beach State Park, famous for its encounters with the graceful green Hawaiian Sea Turtles.

Magic Sands Beach and Kahalu'u Beach Park are both within 20 minutes. These two beaches are on Ali'i Drive and the most popular. This is a great location to visit the beaches and to enjoy access to the best shopping and restaurants in Kona. Keauahou, with the famed manta ray night dives, is also about 15 minutes away. You will be right in the middle of everything.

If you are seeking local markets and historical context, downtown Kailua-Kona is approximately a 15-minute drive for easy access to shopping, businesses, waterfront restaurants and hotels. Watch the people and the cruise ships come and go from the Kailua Pier. Visit the famous Farmer's Market. Enjoy a shaved ice or a cup of Kona coffee, have a light snack or a gourmet meal, buy an inexpensive souvenir or a piece of fine art, book an activity, go for a swim or hang out on the many beautiful beaches.

Up the coast is a busy marina with Hawaii's best scuba diving, big-game fishing, kayaking, dolphin and whale watching, and other ocean activities. Kilohana Hale is conveniently located, a great home base to explore the many wonders of the Big Island including Volcano National Park, Mauna Kea Observatory, coffee and macadamia nut farms, artist communities, and more

This house has parking for several cars.

We provide initial supplies (if you run of these supplies, please purchase them yourself).

Other things to note:
The Eden of Kona retreat home supports relief workers and care for the world's most vulnerable. E Como Mai (Welcome)!

Rain Forest Oasis

Sadly, this includes my first negative statements about a VRBO listing. This was a wonderful property surrounded by gorgeous flowering foliage and fruit-bearing trees. The rather charmingly funky house was secluded, cool at night, and convenient to Kailua-Kona including beaches nearby. The house was neat and tidy although not immaculate. We had a family of 11, ranging in age from 5 to 79. Visitors should look closely at the beds as one of the two larger beds in the house is the lower part of a bunk bed. As others have noted, two bathrooms were a bit of a stretch for a group this size, but we made it work. Although in a quiet setting, the neighborhood dogs and jackhammering next door made for less than a quiet time (not the owner's fault). Unknown to us when we booked, the host took up residence with her two children in a basement-area domicile for the latter half of our stay. We were told this area was not considered part of our booked accommodation, and that on-site hosts, managers were required in Hawaii. Although our host seemed very nice, we were not comfortable with this arrangement. When I suggested as much, she offered to find another place for her to stay IF I could assist her with an additional payment. This was unacceptable to us. The host entered the house at least once while we were gone for the day and commented on our use of additional electricity for fans and lights when we were absent. This was not the relaxing, private situation we signed on for.

The Perfect Oasis Paradise in Kona Hawaii

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Kona Rainforest Oasis! This 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is a true gem nestled in the heart of coffee country, Kona, Hawaii, just steps away from the beach. The lush rainforest surroundings made us feel like we were in our own private paradise. The house itself is spacious and beautifully decorated, with plenty of room for our entire group. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and we loved dining on the lanai with its stunning views. Each bedroom was comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring everyone had a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights was the complementary paddleboard and beach toys, which provided endless fun for the kids. We also appreciated the board games available for some relaxing indoor time. The location is perfect for exploring the Kona Coast, with easy access to local attractions and activities. Overall, this rental exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat in Hawaii. We can't wait to come back!

GALENG GET AWAY

We loved the location (not the coquies) and the seclusion of the property. With 9 of us there, the spaciousness of your home allowed my family to stretch out and not feel so crowded, there was more than enough space for all.

Wild and Beautiful

We had a great time staying in this house and really enjoyed the beautiful jungle paradise property. We arrived at night and the jungle sounds were amazing. The property is truly beautiful but a little wild. There are trails and we really enjoyed walking the property. The house was comfortable for our party of 11 but we definatley filled it up. I would recommend 10 or less ideally. The 3rd (outdoor)bathroom was being remodeled so we only had two. The house needs a little work but it did not detract much from our stay, especially at the price. We received a phone call from the owner on the first day to welcome us, which was nice, and we had text communication with the property manager and the property maintenence guy periodically. They were very helpful with the few issues we had. The only real issue was the lack of a third bathroom ( 11 people was a little much for two bathrooms). A person should know that the house does not come with the use of the laundry room. However, since we had a large group and were staying for 10 days, they were nice enough to allow us to use it. I reccomend clarifying that before hand if you plan on laundering your clothes. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would rent it again as long as the price stays the same or, if the price increases, improvements are made.

I'd love to travel the world. There is so much to see. I love children, although sometimes I feel mine tie my feet. Although I wouldn't have it any other way. 13 years living in Mozambique, Africa changed me forever. I will forever advocate for children who suffer and do all I can to bring them hope (The Dream Project, Mozambique). Hoping this house will bring refreshment to guests and to those who bring relief to those suffering. Aloha!

Why they chose this property

This is the closest rainforest to Kona. It has the cooler temperature, lush greenery, yet is only a 15-minute drive to famous beaches.

What makes this property unique

This is my dream house. It is truly one of a kind. Secluded in a private paradise. Frogs sing you to sleep. Profits help to support vulnerable children.
