About this property

Brigham Farmhouse- Driftless Wisconsin Gem

Enjoy your stay at an historic farmhouse located in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin. This unique property boasts the claim to be the "oldest farm in Dane County" and is located between the Cave of the Mounds and Brigham Park, in Blue Mounds. Hiking, biking, birdwatching and lots of exploring are some of the past times we enjoy here. You'll love this peaceful retreat whether you are an extended family, long time group of friends or just looking for a quiet getaway.

The Farmhouse sits on 25+ acres and is quite private. The original Brigham Farm included Brigham Park and Cave of the Mounds, both of which are adjacent to this property and are easily accessed. In fact, you will receive FREE tickets to visit the Cave when you book with us!

An extension of the Military Ridge Bike Trail runs along this property, so it's great for bike rides and evening walks! Additionally, we have a diverse population of song birds, so you will love hanging out on the big front porch or hiking nearby to spot and listen to their music! Be sure to bring your binoculars!

Blue Mounds State Park is less than a 3 min drive and Mount Horeb is a 7 min drive with shops, food and more outside fun! The west side of Madison is only a 20 minute drive, great for day trips or just dining. In the surrounding area we have so many destinations to explore... Mineral Point's art galleries, New Glarus' historic village and brewery, Spring Green's riverfront and American Players Theater. There are wonderful wineries, golfing and shopping locally as well!

You will have access to the entire house and grounds, and you will receive FREE passes to Cave of the Mounds for each guest staying at the property! The Garage is off limits, but there is ample outside parking for multiple vehicles.

Other things to note
This property is uniquely set up for wheelchair accessibility and can accommodate folks that don't want to deal with stairs. We have a King Bedroom Suite on the 1st floor with a full, accessible bath and screened porch right off the kitchen. There is a large living/ dining great room, study and very big front porch all accessible on the 1st floor. The sidewalk leading around the house to the patio with fire table and grill is also easily accessible.

A cozy house with a view

With our adult children home, we wanted a little getaway over the holiday. This location is near my grandmother's old farm, where we like to visit and hike, and so the location was perfect. The house was not only cozy with a beautiful view, it was also modern, clean, and updated. We had a lovely 2-night stay!

Autumn Joy

The Brigham Farmhouse was an amazing way to spend a weekend. Close to Madison, bike trails, and the Cave of the Mounds, we were ahrrounded by fun activities. However, those weren't needed as the Farmhouse had enough to keep our entire group entertained. Loved our stay!

Such a treat to stay in a historic old home like Brigham Farm. Clean, comfortable furniture including king beds, well stocked kitchen. Lots of room inside and outside, tastefully decorated. Seclusion with a view

Beautiful and well-maintained older home with privacy and amazing views of the countryside. Nice outdoor spaces to congregate, interesting artwork and books, modern amenities, sizable kitchen and dining room, close to trails and parks. Ideal place to share time together with family or friends.

Great family getaway

Wonderful property. Loved the connection to local history, the historic character, beautiful rooms, fun game attic, spectacular views and proximity to the cave and the trails. The free tickets to Cave of the Mounds were a great bonus. We will look for a chance to come back.

Beautiful place and stay

Our family spent a beautiful Christmas at the Brigham farmhouse. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking holiday meals, and the library, huge TV, and pingpong table kept us all entertained. The first-floor suite was perfect for the nonagenarian, who is spry but not fond of stairs. The Cave of the Mounds is a short walk down the hill and not to be missed. Many thanks to Sarah for the assistance and the holiday decorations, which made the house look even more special.

Step back in time yet modern comforts!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. We felt as though we were able to step back in time and enjoy the architecture and design of yesteryear. However, all the modern amenities were greatly appreciated! The communication with Sarah was excellent. She provided us with maps, tickets to the amazing cave, and helpful information. I picked her brain about the house and the history she shared was very interesting. We would love to come back in the summer months when everything is in full bloom!
