Beautiful property

Loved my stay at the Volcano Home. My friend and I spent the last two nights of our Big Island vacation here to access Hawai'i Volcano National Park and Hilo. The property is "off the beaten path" and provides an amazingly memorable experience with a very comfortable homelike experience. I appreciated the communication with Joshua and Geneva that made the entire experience seamless. A beautiful and delicious fruit basket was provided on the kitchen and the entire kitchen is stocked with various food items as well as delicious coffee. One thing that stood out for me was how sustainable the property is, relying on a rain water catchment system for water supply. I can't recommend it enough and can't recommend Joshua and Geneva as wonderful hosts.

This home was featured in Discovery's "Building Off the Grid Series" which made it interesting and unique. This was the most well-stocked place I have every stayed as they had everything a person could need, including food!

Volcano Home

Truly beautiful off grid home with all you need for a comfortable, peaceful stay! The welcome fruit and goodies was a special surprise and very much appreciated! Just a short drive to Volcano National Park which enabled us to see it at night as well as during the day. Really enjoyed the stargazing in the beautiful, clear night sky. The beds were super comfy! Highly recommend!!

Joshua is a local artist and Geneva volunteers in the community. We try to offer a relaxing, artistic home at a fair price so that families can stay together and get away from the fast paced stress in everyday life.

Why they chose this property

We love this area because it is surrounded by the natural Hawaiian Rainforest. The weather at this elevation is mild and comfortable allowing families the ability to relax outside all year round.

What makes this property unique

Volcano Home was built by my Joshua and Geneva over a year and a half. Joshua has used the nature to inspire the design of the home as well as the many custom touches inside the home. All the cabinets, most of the furniture and and artwork was designed and created by Joshua specifically for this home.
