Great spot for a family weekend!

We rented this house for our family weekend. There was so much to do for the kids and adults alike. We hiked throughout the property everyday. We all loved being able to use the hot tub and fire pit all day. Such a great spot.

Wonderful, comfortable ranch

Our group of five adult couples loved this beautiful ranch and comfortable home. The sunset each evening and sunrise each morning were beautiful moments to take in over the back porch. Everything we needed was there, kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, basics etc, and plenty of towels for showers and the hot tub. The property manager was very friendly and responsive. Overall we had a fantastic time and would love to come back to stay here again.

Great house for Wine Weekend getaway

Four couples stayed at Horsetail Ranch for the weekend and it was just perfect for us. The property was breathtaking, overlooking the pond and hills. The house was nice and big, and each bedroom was nicely sized and we were each able to have our own bathroom. The kitchen was very well appointed, with great appliances; we cooked both nights we were there and it worked out well. It rained a bit but the house was cozy with the fireplace, and we still managed to use the firepit and hot tub which were really nice. Overall a great place for us all to relax!

Wine weekend on the ranch- some hoorays and some let downs

The place is roomy and spacious which met our needs nicely. We arrived first, before our friends to find muddy footprints all over. everything was clean and tidy so we didn't say anything. Our friends arrived and we enjoyed the backyard and fire pit. The sunset was awesome and didn't disappoint. We started to make dinner for 9. The kitchen has a great range, but the outside grill was in disrepair. The rack had gaps that caused the food to fall through and there were no bbq tools. It was a challenge, but didn't ruin our fun. We got up in the morning and did some yoga and was excited to hike the vast property and many trails as noted, but only found a few unkept trails with knee high sticky weeds. Our hike was a bust. The primary bedroom and bathroom is large and cozy by day. At night when you want to read or use a Cpap, bring an extension cord! None of the outlets worked. Overall our stay was good. We were disappointed by a few things and expected more.

Spacious, very comfortable stay with family

My family and I had an amazing experience here. The space was so clean and comfortable, and the entire family (6 ppl) had enough room to spread out. We brought our two young sons as well, and they even had kid toys (magnatiles) available which was a bonus. Highly recommend for young families as there was enough space to run around outside, and our boys loved walking down to the small lake and exploring. When we had questions, the owners were very fast to reply and were very helpful with local recommendations. Would love to come again and have already recommended to many friends!

Quick Central Coast Escape

We had such an amazing time at this amazing and beautiful property. Our little family and another family that we've been "quaranteaming" with needed to get out of the house and out of town before "at home schooling" started. The house was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for everyone. There was plenty of space to relax, and for the kids to play. We had such a great time just hanging around the house, that we didn't even find the time to tour any of the amazing local wineries. The only slight downfall was that the pond was drained and it was a hot weekend, but we should have expected that. We would love to visit this place again!

BEST VRBO RENTAL EVER !!!!

The owner was prompt, professional, courteous and friendly. High quality furnishings and linens. We kept noticing several "attention to detail" throughout the house, like children's toys, yoga mats and special black towels to remove make-up. Every possible appliance and gadget in the kitchen was provided. We would love to come back for a longer stay in the near future. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Lovely COVID escape

The property was exactly as advertised; 100+ private acres, large gathering locations, and plenty of sunshine. We had a small group here for a week to escape San Francisco and get our fill of the outdoors. Kena was easy to work with, and the property was top-notch. We were able to visit some nearby wineries, and some of our group went horse-back riding at nearby Cass. I look forward to visiting the ranch again in the future!

I am definitely coming back!

I cannot say enough great things about our stay at Horsetail Ranch. It completely exceeded our expectations. Not only was it impeccably clean, but it had the most comfortable and luxurious bedding. We were so fortunate to be able to book this during this shelter in place as it is so private and isolated. 150 acres of rolling hills and rosemary lavender bushes. The Host thought of every little detail down to yoga mats and black face towels to remove make up. We cooked on the bbq in the evening and spent time in the jacuzzi after. We had everything we needed there, luxury bath products, linens, coffee, a fire pit, and did I already mention how clean it was? This is a 5-star resort. Absolutely beautiful property with a hands-on host. I am already going to make arrangements to come back!

Family Get Together

A perfect property for an adult get together. Beautifully maintained house with all amenities you will need to relax, cook and celebrate. Nice, quiet location with great views. We will try to come back in the Spring when everything will be green and there should be water in the pond. Caretaker Eliza is a real gem. She makes sure that you have everything that you need and is readily available should you need anything.

Staying in Creston

This place is fabulous. Awesome setting, close to town. I will say the only “downfall” was the air conditioning in master bedroom... freezing, but in order to keep the rest of the house cool, it’s a sacrifice made.

Incredible setting, quiet solitude

This is an elegant, modern, spacious, well-appointed home with rustic charm throughout. It is situated on top of a hill with outstanding views all around. The large back patio with lovely string lights is perfect for entertaining or relaxing with a glass of wine around the fire pit. Kena, the owner, was very easy to communicate with and quite attentive. She accommodated our request for an early check in and a late checkout. Eliza, the property manager, met us at arrival and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We were out and about every day but couldn’t wait to get back to the house every evening to enjoy the amazing sunsets, the dark clear sky with glittering stars, and a crescent moon. Thank you Kena for sharing your home with us. We had the best time at Horsetail Ranch.

Fantastic relaxing ladies' weekend away on the Creston Wine Trail

My sister and I hosted a girls'/moms' weekend away for 10 ladies from LA and the Bay Area a couple weekends ago, and we couldn't have had a better weekend despite the chilly weather. The house itself was incredible - there was plenty of room for all 10 of us in the 5 bedrooms. And the downstairs area was perfect for playing board games, cooking delicious meals, and enjoying cocktails in the hot tub/around the fire pit. We had a local yoga teacher come teach a class one of the mornings, and some of us did a trail ride around the ranch. It was a perfect location for enjoying the Creston Wine Trail - about 10-15 minutes from all the vineyards. We met such nice, down-to-earth people/owners at the vineyards - it was a lot more personal and fun than other areas like Napa/Sonoma which have so many more tourists. I am a planner, and Kena, the owner, was super helpful with suggestions for dinner locations and vineyards, etc. I will definitely be back with my family - hopefully this summer!

Lovely venue for intimate wedding

We found HorseTail Ranch when looking for a venue for a small wedding with a few close friends in the vicinity of our favorite wine region, Paso Robles. It fit the bill perfectly - not only was the size well-suited, they were amenable to weddings and even had a lake/pond with a small dock that was the perfect setting for the ceremony, which we held and literally said "I do" just as the sun set over the hills. (We didn't plan that, it was just serendipity.) The dock was a short walk to the main house where we had an outdoor reception and then inside for group dinner. As these things go, the small party expanded a bit but luckily HorseTail Ranch also had an adjoining property which was able to accomodate the additional guests. In total, we had 21 people (not everyone stayed on the property but most did). The house was well-appointed and had a large kitchen that supported everyone. Laundry, parking, etc. was all ample. We rented some golf carts to shuttle people between the main house and the extra place (we had some older people in the party). Kena recommended a wedding planner and she was able to help arrange catering, officiant, equipment rental, and all the other nagging details. We even arranged wedding day activities on the ranch: horseback riding for those who didn't want to go on a wine-tasting tour, which was also a wonderful option since HorseTail Ranch is close to some really wonderful wineries (we were within 15 minutes of Cass, August Ridge, and Still Water and we hit them all). We felt as if we had a private place with beautiful scenery from the top of the hill but we weren't totally isolated - on Friday night before the event we had a pizza party as people trickled in - a 25 minute drive to Atascadero did the trick and we ate outside around the fire pit (we also rented heat lamps because it was winter). Kena, the owner, was helpful as we worked through the logistics and the caretaker, Brian, was helpful on our arrival and checked in on us periodically. If ever we need another venue for a group, HorseTail will be at the top of the list!

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We went to Horsetail Ranch over News Years and had one of our most favorite vacations ever. What a perfect way to unwind and decompress from the city. The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Everything down to the details are perfectly rustic, chic and luxurious! We had 3 families and there was a little bit of everything for everyone. We loved just sitting on the patio looking out over the tranquil views and the local wine tasting. Kids enjoyed the freedom of running free around the expansive property and of course the jacuzzi. One of the absolute best moments on our trip was horseback riding around the property with Brian and Crystal (who were also incredible hosts). The kids still remember their horses names and Goatee. I can't say enough about how great our trip was. I think this says it all - we are already planning another visit!

Amazing in everyway!

Staying at the Vacation Villa on Horse Tail Ranch was incredible. The house was a perfect size with 5 beautiful bedrooms. Lots of space and beautifully decorated. The kitchen, living room, and dining room were very spacious for big crowds. The dining table seated 12 of us for Thanksgiving. The back patio was very big for outside gathering. The view from there of the small lake in the distance and the green hills , and winery was breathtaking. The peacefulness that you feel there is worth the money. I hope to go back every year.
