Tranquility, walking distance to the Black Sand beach. Clean, washer and dryer was very convenient. The bed and pillows were amazing! Front desk very friendly and accommodating. Love this place, hope to come back again.

Loved the quiet, low key property. Very restful for a refreshing get away. Hardly used the air conditioner as the condo was set up with good cross ventilation. Good base to visit all the attractions on the island. Also, has minimal VOG when the volcano was erupting.

Nobody is responsible for check in and we can’t even find someone that is in charge of the property here. The rooms are really hot and you don’t even provide shampoo to customers. Worst hotel experience ever.

Pahala surprise

This place is amazing. One minute drive to Black sand beach and very quiet and felt like our own place. Nice pool/hot tub area and the room was beyond what we expected. Friendly/ courteous staff that knew the area well. highly recommended!!

I only stayed one night, but it was perfect. The location is walking distance to the Black Sand beach and the unit we stayed in had a lovely patio with a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the property was very quiet.

It's a beautiful place, gardens and flowering trees kept in immaculate condition. A really nice pool and jacuzzi, and an easy walk to the black sand beach. The staff are friendly and helpful and the apartment was great, well equipped with everything we needed including laundry. I definitely recommend Colony 1, and would love to stay here again.

Can't Wait To Visit Again - Mahalo!

Second time we've stayed at Pahala and it was great. Can't wait to visit again. Colony I is quiet, so close to the beach you can walk and the pool is never crowded. We splurged for the portable in-room AC unit since it was a hot september this year.

Nice stay

We spent three nights. They called us to give us instructions three days before the trip in case we checked in late, aka, after 5 pm. That was helpful because our flight was delayed and we did check in late. No places to eat around the property. Need to buy grocery before check-in. Full kitchen. Need to bring your own soap and shampoo. Everything you need including laundry detergent is available for sale at the office. We had an ocean front unit near the pool. It was like the paradise when we sat at the patio looking at the ocean, listening to the waves, and enjoyed the palm trees, watching flowers and birds while we enjoyed our breakfast. The night sky was full of stars. It was about 1:45 min from the Kona airport and 1:15 to Hilo. We had a good stay.

Une belle surprise!

Ce fut la plus grande surprise de notre voyage! Nous avons adoré l'endroit alors que nous pensions que cela allait être plutôt ordinaire! L'unité que nous avons eue, la 12, était tellement parfaite! 2e niveau, vue magnifique sur la piscine et l'océan! Le soir, il faut sortir s'allonger sur les chaises à la piscine et observer les étoiles dans ce ciel complètement noir dû au fait qu'ils limitent l'éclairage au minimum! Excellent emplacement pour visiter le parc des volcans et la plage de sable noir avec ses nombreuses tortues! Seul bémol: restaurants à 20 minutes en voiture. Allez essayer le resto le plus au sud des USA ( Hana Hou) Pizzas et desserts succulents! J'aurais dû réserver plus de nuits!
