About this property
Jasmine Cottage - Winkleigh
Sleeping two adults and two children, this charming thatched period property in the little village of Broadwoodkelly offers a lovely holiday base for a family. The cottage is just 2.5 miles from pretty Winkleigh, which boasts traditional pubs serving local fare and a village community local with a skittle alley. There’s also a post office, tearoom and farm shop. Wildflowers bloom in the grounds of Broadwood Kelly’s 15th century church and there’s a network of quiet footpaths to explore. Family fun is in store at two delightful farms, both within 5.5 miles. Diverse attractions at the War Horse Valley Country Farm Park include feeding the animals, games shed, tractor ride tours around the farm and much more. Meet alpacas, goats and cute Valais Blacknose sheep at Woolley Animals. Magnificent Dartmoor National Park and the historic market town of Okehampton are within 10 miles.
Store coats and shoes in the thatched porch of your holiday home and step inside the wonderfully cosy lounge/diner. Exuding character and a sense of history, this atmospheric retreat houses a sumptuous leather sofa beneath the low, beamed ceiling, perfect for relaxing in front of the wood burner. A cleverly hand-crafted dining table has seating for four, ideal for tucking into hearty meals after a day of country air. The compact, country-style kitchen has all you need to whip up dishes made with tasty Devon produce, while to the rear of the cottage is the walk-in shower room. Head up the steep stairs and be aware of low door frames as you enter the pretty, king-size bedroom, with ceiling beams and a delightful vintage dressing table, plus a matching full-length mirror. This spacious room lead to a small bunk bedroom, perfect for young children to snuggle down beneath the eaves.
