We chose this rental to have a quiet and relaxing week. It more than exceeded our expectations with a forested site overlooking an island in the lake. Our 2 sons and grandson dropped in and made good and proper use of the deck, raft, clear water, sandy bottom, paddle boat and boards and a rocky island that has a 3 metre cliff inviting a jump into deep water. They were even able to catch a fish off the dock. The deck and dock, both with suitably comfortable chairs, encourage a view of sunsets and the night sky, with stars, satellites, meteorites and the occasional jet at 10,000 metres. A marvellous week.
Our third visit to this cottage, and every time we are here, we make new and wonderful memories. The owners go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and provide everything you need to enjoy your stay. We'll be back!
This was a return visit to this wonderful cottage, and as expected it did not disappoint. We had a relaxing stay, enjoying many kayak trips and plenty of bird watching. The property is very well maintained, clean and quiet. We highly recommend this place. We’ll be back!
A wonderful stay at the lake started the moment we alighted from the car and breathed in the woodsy air. There was a good breeze everyday that kept any bugs at bay.
The cottage was spotless with a well appointed kitchen that included plenty of dishes, glasses, mugs, etc (other cottages we have rented did not, so this was a welcome surprise). Comfy beds with good reading light. The screened in porch would be lovely on a rainy day, but our weather this week allowed us to be out on the deck with spectacular views of the lake most days. There are stairs down to the lake from the cottage that feel solid and safe (we stayed last year at a different cottage where the stairs down to that lake were more of an adventure that most people would want). The upside of stairs to the lake is that spectacular view.
There are a number of nearby golf courses and we enjoyed the Perth golf course. Highly recommend Foodsmiths in nearly Town of Perth for fresh fruit and veg and other groceries. We had a wonderful Italian dinner out at Bistro 54 in Perth.
My partner and I were fortunate to secure this cottage due to a last minute cancelation by another party. Boy were we pleasantly surprised at our luck. This place was great! The views, the quiet, the amenities, all above par. The hosts were helpful and discrete. We never knew they were there. We will highly recommend this to friends and family.
This week was a quiet retreat for my husband and me in a clean and comfortable cottage. The owners were very helpful yet respected our privacy. The location was perfect for our Ottawa family to visit a few times. The setting was beautiful to explore by canoe and we enjoyed watching the loons and swans from the dock. We look forward to a return visit next year!

About the host
Hosted by Cheryl
I live in the house next to the cottage with my husband and two kids. You will often see us in the lake (either boating or swimming) or talking a stroll down the road.
Why they chose this property
This property used to belong to a family member and growing up I spent alot of time with my cousins playing in the forest and swimming in the lake. It is a great property for families to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
This property has a beautiful view of Long Lake and is a great place to come and relax with your family or friends. Go out in the canoe and explore the lake and the 5 small islands. It is very comon to see loons swimming in the open water or possibly a beaver in and around the islands. Or take in sounds of nature and enjoy the sunsets over the lake.
