We stayed for 2 weeks in September 2015. From being met at the airport, we were made to feel safe & welcome. We were a little concerned when being taken down a dusty track past farmers fields, but when we emerged in front of the villa we were very pleased. The location of the villa is great for the local dolmus into Dalyan and the information received from Andy was excellent. The bikes provided would have been very useful, although there was a puncture in one tyre when we arrived, but Ahmet very quickly got that sorted for us.
The villa was very clean with all mod cons you need for a peaceful holiday. We also had an issue with the shower in the upstairs bathroom, but again, Ahmet sorted that very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Having said that, having used the downstairs shower, the water pressure downstairs is much better than upstairs, so we continued to use this one.
The walk to the dolmus was interesting! Most of the locals are farmers and are very friendly - a smile and a wave to the hard working farmers always brought a smile from them. The shop at the end of the road stocked the basics, but the wine was very drinkable!!
Heading out of the villa to the dolmus stop, on the same side of the road as the shop, there is a hidden restaurant amongst the trees. It looks like a shack, but the food and welcome here was great! The dolmus from Dalyan is mainly used by the locals and the frequency reduces in the evening (at least it did in September!) so we used to catch the bus back and drop in to the restaurant for a drink. Failing that, pick up a bottle of wine from the local shop and drink it on the veranda - perfect!
We loved the fact that we had a local visitor on a few occasions - the local hedgehog used to pop into the garden of an evening - who needs TV when you can watch the wildlife!! We also loved the fact that there are grapes growing in the garden - seemed a shame to let them go to waste.
All in all, we loved our visit and would highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting a peaceful break in a homely villa.
Thank you Andy for letting us stay on your Turkish home, and for all the tips and assistance you gave us before departure. You have a great team in Ahmet and his local tradesmen. Well done!!
