Casa de lujo en primera línea de mar, con piscina, sauna, jacuzzi y bosques

Seal Cottage se encuentra en la parte más exclusiva de la península de Beara, Waterfall, Castletownbere, West Cork, que tiene una larga historia. Tiene vistas a una playa privada y tiene espectaculares vistas al mar.

En el lado este de Seal Cottage se encuentra Waterfall House. Era la residencia oficial del comodoro naval real del escuadrón de enfoques occidentales, anclado en Berehaven. Fue comprado hace varios años por el director de cine Neil Jordan, quien pasa gran parte de su tiempo libre allí.

Al lado de Seal Cottage se encuentra el Hermitage, construido justo después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Fue construido en el sitio de una granja, Curryglass House, que data de alrededor de 1800. Erskine Hamilton Childers, presidente de la República de Irlanda e hijo del hombre del IRA Robert Erskine Childers, se quedaba en la casa periódicamente con los dueños, sus amigos.


El alojamiento de Seal Cottage comprende aproximadamente 3.500 pies cuadrados brevemente:

- Gran cuarto de servicio con lavadora Miele, secadora, congelador grande y almacenamiento para artículos del hogar. Hay una entrada al garaje fuera del lavadero.
- Gran habitación doble en la planta baja con vestidor y amplio baño con ducha, inodoro, lavabo y bañera de hidromasaje con vistas al césped y al mar. También hay puertas que se abren a un patio privado desde el dormitorio.

- cocina totalmente equipada
- zona de comedor con vistas al mar y a la isla Bere
- gran invernadero con una variedad de árboles tropicales como plátanos, etc.
- arriba hay dos habitaciones dobles cada una con baño en suite
- También hay una gran sala 'de repuesto' arriba que se puede utilizar como sala de visitas, oficina, estudio, etc.
- Hay calefacción eléctrica por suelo radiante en todas las áreas de la planta baja.

Hay un sistema de sonido envolvente Bose que también tiene la opción de encenderse en el área del invernadero.
- Hay una piscina climatizada con energía solar en el jardín que está disponible para su uso desde el 01 de abril hasta finales de septiembre, dependiendo del clima y una sauna tradicional escandinava en el bosque.
- Hay acceso privado a los escalones de la playa en el lado este del sitio.
- Hay un amarre privado para un barco.
- Todo el sitio está arbolado con una pasarela natural a través de él.
- También hay una corriente que fluye a través de parte del bosque que se había utilizado para crear un lago en miniatura.

Great accommodation

Beautiful, clean and spacious property with lovely views of the sea, a private beach, large garden etc. we didn’t use the pool or sauna but they were there. Would have preferred a bigger oven, it’s a microwave/ oven combo, but we managed alright. A lovely spot.

Die Lage des Hauses ist super gut. Der große Garten, der wunderbare Blick aufs Wasser und das Haus selbst sind sehr einladend und bieten Alles was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub benötigt. Wir waren 1 Woche mit 6 Erwachsenen dort und wollten gar nicht mehr weg. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und bietet jede Menge Platz. Ein großes Lob an den freundlichen Hauskeeper Thomas. Er hat uns bei unserer Ankunft empfangen, alles erklärt und war stets erreichbar. Dieses Haus hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Absolut empfehlenswert!!

A fantastic experience. The beach for the children was a homerun! They spent all day hunting for lipids, mussels & clams. The sauna was going was so refreshing after a dip in the pool and bay. A daily ritual. Seal cottage was lovely and most comfortable. Tomas and Margrite(sp) were very helpful. We were there for over 3 weeks and hated to leave! We will return. 5 stars!

What Great Experience

We stayed at the cottage for a week and loved the remote, country atmosphere. we were close to town and a few restaurants but based on the time of year a lot was closed. The cottage was amazing and comfortably fit all 8 of us. the owner and caretaker were/ are amazing and checked in regularly to assure we had what was needed and to provide local advice and adventures. We will be back!

Outstanding!!

We have never had so much personal attention from our host via Tomas when checking in and during our stay. Need information about the area? Just ask Tomas, he knows EVERYTHING!!! The house and property exceeded our expectations on all levels. We had a lovely time exploring local sites and dining in town several times. Dinner at Murphys in town was a perfect cap to our week in Castletownbere. The grocery store in town was more than adequate. Make sure to visit Dursey Island via the cable car and treat yourself to a snack of monkfish at the food truck located at the base of the cable car station. Just make sure to schedule some down time so you can enjoy the sauna, the solarium and this beautiful property!

We were a group of 8, aged from 50 to 93. The facilities and location were second to none, and we would have no hesitation in returning to this property. As regular renters, this property is up there with the very best. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting the Beara peninsula.

Paradise in Beara

We absolutely loved our week in Seal Cottage.It was everything we hoped and more!!!the pictures as great as they are, do not do it justice.Nestled in private woodlands with your own little beach and amazing views out to the sea and Bere Island. The grounds are immaculate as was the cleanliness of the property.We stayed in the master bedroom and the views from the room and the ensuite were a joy to wake up to.We were in the pool every single day of our week and its gorgeous. We stay at home in Ireland every year for our holidays and have been lucky enough to stay in some amazing properties over the last 15 years all along the West Coast but we all agreed this house is the best yet!!!!Check in and out was simple.Thomas was lovely to deal with and the house had everything you would need -lots of towels,blankets etc and lots of little kitchen basics too which is so handy.To wake up every morning and take a fresh cup of Nespresso coffee out to the patio and hear the sea,seals and peace was just an amazing experience!Can you tell we loved it!!!we hope to be lucky enough to stay in Seal Cottage again.

Perfect relaxing break

We have just returned from our break at seal cottage. What a beautiful place! Our stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. The house really is first class. We loved the sauna in the woods, it was easy to use and took around 30 mins to heat up. Having read previous reviews we bought wetsuits for the pool and we were glad we did as it was very cold, but perfect for what we were looking for. The house is situated on a rocky cove and we saw seals playing on the rocks in the evenings. The conservatory was perfect for relaxing and is quite unique with its selection of plants. The pictures don’t do this house justice, it is just beautiful.

Fabulous Cottage

Seal’s Cottage is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The setting is unbelievably gorgeous and comfortable, tucked away in a beautiful part of the Beara peninsula. The amenities outside the Cottage are plentiful and human-size. The Cottage itself is designed with refined taste, and generously equipped with utilities that are extremely easy to operate. John has been a great host, responding quickly to our inquiries, and effectively referred us to a reliable agent for an extra specialized service that we required. Seal’s Cottage will always be among the few top candidate locations for my next vacation.

Stunning Cork

We had a wonderful week - super relaxing. The house was lovely and had a stunning outlook over the bay - where we saw seals basking on the rocks. It has everything you need - a great BBQ, super wood-fired sauna, great Wi-Fi, a “cinema room” for when the Wild Atlantic weather intervenes and within easy driving distance across some of the best scenery in Ireland to Kenmare, Killarney and other places. Castletown Bere is a few KMs away with very good supermarkets and some lovely restaurants (Breen’s was super, with great seafood chowder). Communication from the owner was very good, and we were welcomed at the house by the lovely Tomas who gave us lots of useful tips for our week. Highly recommend!!!

Seal Cottage is a fantastic house in a great location.

The property gives holiday makers the option of relaxing days at in the house with great views, swimming pool, sauna, outdoor grill, good kitchen within private surroundings or you can visit some of Irelands best tourist attractions all within an accessible comfortable drive.

Fantastic Find

We have stayed 3 times at seal cottage and we have had a fantastic holiday each time. The house is really gorgeous with every modern amenity, really clean. The swimming pool keeps all the family occupied, the sauna has been upgraded but nothing can bet the unbelievable views from the garden/patio. Thomas is a great host and John the owner tells you everything you need to know. The beara peninsula is a lovely hidden peninsula. We can't wait for our next trip to seal cottage!

Wonderful house at a wonderful location

Seal cottage is a great destination, we all thoroughly enjoyed out time there. It's the best equipped house we've stayed in - everything you need is there and our contact Tomas was very helpful. The location is wonderful, we were lucky with the weather but either way, there's some truly stunning scenery nearby. The kids loved the pool and the sauna, and the beach at the end of the garden. The cinema room upstairs was also a great hit... Would happily recommend this as a place to stay and see the beautiful Beara peninsula.

Superb location, great garden and very spacious. Property is a little tired in places with an old fridge and gas hob. Lots of electrical appliances everywhere. Life is too short to figure what they all do! Very relaxing place with lovely views over the sea.
