We love it here

This is our third time at this property, and it is our favorite rental spot in highlands. The views are lovely and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. We like to hike Whiteside which is right down the road, and we like to pop into Cashiers and Highlands so being directly between the two is perfect. Property is always clean and comfortable and easy to get in and out. We will absolutely be back soon!

Perfect in every way!

We had a weekend girls’ getaway for my sister’s 40th birthday, and our accommodations couldn’t have been more perfect! Everything was wonderful — the kitchen, porches, bedding, and bathrooms! Having traveled a lot and stayed in multiple house rentals in Highlands and hotels including the Old Edwards Inn and Cottages at Julep Farm, I can definitely say I felt most at home this trip! Joe was always a delight to talk to, and you can tell they really care about this place. Will definitely be back!! Thank you, Joe, for sharing your lovely home. It was definitely hard to leave!!

Beautiful Home

A couple of my friends and I stayed ten nights, it wasn’t long enough! The home is beautiful and very comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch mornings and evenings. The home was a perfect location between Highlands and Cashiers. Im looking forward to returning soon

Excellent house!

We stayed at this house for the Highlands Motoring Festival. It was the perfect house for us. What we really appreciated was how clean, specious and well appointed this home was. It was very modern feeling, light and airy, and had everything we needed. The main floor has two king bedrooms, and one with twin beds. The finished basement has another bedroom with two double beds. The weather was perfect for sitting outside on the decks at night. We appreciated the flat driveway and the ability to park in the garage since we had 3 Ferraris with us that are tough to manage in the mountains. The only issue was the location was a solid 15 minute drive to downtown Highlands. We didn’t mind because we had a designated driver, but if you’re drinking or not comfortable driving at night on dark, winding mountain roads, this might be a bit tricky for you. But the house is perfect and being in a gated neighborhood was also a plus. We would rent again. Thank you!

This home and area is beautiful. Easy to travel to from Highlands and Cashiers. We had everything we needed to relax, cook, and play. The home is immaculate, bedding was plush, and views amazing. Thank you Joe for being so patient and informative concerning our stay! We had an amazing family weekend!

Great, spacious, well renovated home

This house is great for a large group or family. The kitchen is very nice and the entire house has been renovated. There are good views. The house is a short 0.7 mile walk from the Whiteside Mountain trailhead. Which is itself a 2.0 mile hike. So that is nice to do without having to get in the car. The house is quiet and secluded. I would note that it is at least a 15 minute drive through winding roads to get to Highlands or anywhere else.

Perfect in every way

Quiet and secluded!! Very new feeling. Spared no expense. Love the comfy couches and open feel. Game room was great for kids and plenty of TVs. Wi-Fi worked great. Great views from the house- they could even be better if they clipped the tops of some trees!!

Short Escape from Parenthood

When the time arrived to go on this trip, we were in such dire need of time away from home, and this home away from home delivered on our escape! Very well appointed home, interior amenities were all new-car-smell fresh and clean, and the location in Highlands just a few minutes outside of town could not have been much more convenient. Beautiful quiet neighborhood, incredible view, that lovely Highlands elevation, and to top it off our host, Joe, was very responsive and intent on providing a pleasant stay. I got the feeling that he would go a long way to making us happy if we’d needed it. We got our moneys worth on this one! Hope to be back sooner than later.

Perfect

We really enjoyed this home. The decks, the view, the quiet…. Just perfect for a long weekend. Hike whiteside mountain, see waterfalls, visit cashiers farmer market, have dinner and shop in highlands, and retreat to the quiet with a view. Also, the house is great for cooking (very well equipped), socializing, playing games, and resting as well. We will visit again!

Merry Christmas to Us!

My family stayed at this property over Christmas and it was simply incredible. We came from the east coast and out west and the property was equally tranquil and relaxing for both. The sweeping views from almost every vantage point, comfortable furniture and amenities made this a place none of us wanted to leave. It’s renovated perfectly making the chefs kitchen a treat for cooking in and entertaining. We renovate homes for a living so are definitely a critical eye without meaning to be. There is not one single thing we would have done different ourselves and the quality is impeccable. Its well appointed and feels elegant and high end, but perfectly comfortable to put your feet up and relax. The bathrooms felt spa like, the beds and bedding felt like vacation and the memories we made there sitting by a fire watching moving and playing games will last a lifetime. I recommend this property to anyone who wants to check out, get relaxed and leave happy!!!

Cheers to the mountains!

Our family had the best time visiting Cashiers for the week between Xmas & NYE! Every night my 5 year old would toast at dinner with a "Cheers to the mountains!"--we didn't want to leave. Joe was a fantastic, communicative host and the house was perfect. Beautiful windows with lots of light, quick access to hiking trails, and my kids lived for all the games and open space. Every morning we saw a family of deer wander through the property, and each afternoon the 5 year old took all our money in Monopoly. Great meals in the kitchen, stunning views, easy trip to town. All around terrific spot, thank you Joe for sharing your home with us! I can't say enough good things.

Perfect house for family gatherings

This house is perfect for large families or anyone looking to relax in the mountains. It's beautiful inside and out, with an incredible mossy front yard and a great view of the mountains. There are plenty of spaces in the house to hang out, including two game rooms in the basement. It's also located just close enough to Highlands to make it easy to get in town, while being far enough up the mountains to provide quiet relaxation. It was our first time visiting the Highlands and we'll definitely be back.

Beautiful Home with Amazing Views

Incredible experience from start to finish. Great communication with the owners and an incredibly beautiful home with fantastic outdoor spaces that have incredible views over the mountains. About 15 minutes to either Highlands or Cashiers. Would definitely stay again!!!

Fall trip to Highlands/Cashiers

The property was excellent. The house was very well equipped for families renting the property. There was lots of games for children that kept us entertained when the rain kept us from going outside. Also it was a beautiful location.

Great house in a fantastic location between highlands and cashiers. Closer to highlands. Whiteside mountain terrain is walking distance. House was very nice, spacious, and had a great view. Joe was also very responsive during the lead up to our stay.

AMAZING home and experience! Look no further!

We were so lucky to find this amazing home! We procrastinated on planning our Highlands, NC Christmas trip and I'm so glad we did because this gorgeous, updated home had just been listed to start renting! We were a little nervous because there wasn't a lot of reviews since it was a new property, but the property manager/owner (Joe) was so nice and accommodating. There were so many nice comforts and perks of this house... I am a stickler about nice bedding and comfortable mattresses - the beds, pillows, sheets and comforters were SO nice - nice down pillows, comforters, etc. This home has been recently updated and you can tell! The nice, contemporary finishes make it have a magazine-ish mountain modern feel. The reclining sofas in the living room were CLUTCH - we had 3 couples and a few kids and it was so nice to be able to comfortably all lay down in the living room together and watch movies. There is a cozy fireplace between the living room and kitchen that was perfect to sit by and have a few drinks, do a puzzle and hangout with whoever was cooking up dinner. The kitchen had nice appliances and was equipped with everything we needed - from dishes, pots/pans (we cooked in!) to spices that we could use. The downstairs is a great little hidden getaway, especially if you have a mix of adults and kids, as a place to hang out and have a few drinks away from sleeping kids that you could potentially wake up. Perfect layout for a family! We will be back - hopefully sooner than later!

A trip for the ages

From the moment we booked this place with Joe, he was nothing short of immediately responsive, clearly communicative, and utterly accommodating. Traveling during this uncertain time can be uniquely stressful, but Joe did everything he could to put our minds at ease. This home is stunning. It was just renovated from top to bottom and every detail was contemplated. The home fit our group very well and felt like home for our Thanksgiving. The views are stunning and the outdoor space is plentiful. The area is remarkable. We've gone to the Cashiers/Highlands area for years and this was easily the best location for us. It is not only less than a mile from Whiteside Mountain's trail entrance, but it is just about halfway between both of these charming towns. We found everything about our stay to be extraordinary and would recommend this home and host to anyone. We hope to be fortunate enough to stay here again.
