The Otters Den awaits you! New private deck construction is complete. Completely renovated in 2021 with brand new kitchen, appliances, floors, paint, bath, luxury linens and bedding. The Otters Den is located on the 2nd floor of our 2 story cabin with stunning views of the Spit and Kachemak Bay. The Otters Den has over 800 sq. feet with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath complete with gas grill, gas fire pit, patio table and chairs. Shared laundry facility and wood fire pit.

Beautiful House

This place was in a perfect location and the view was incredible. It was very clean and in excellent shape. All the beds were comfortable, and the recliner & couch reclined. The host was very friendly and understanding. Highly recommend :)

Great place to stay, be aware there are very steep steps in/out as it is on the second floor. Not suitable for someone who has any mobility or balance issues. The view isgreat

Good place, nice stay

They allow dogs, which is cool. They have dogs that roam around which isn’t that cool because the mastic isn’t very friendly. Otherwise it was a great spot and a great location.

I would recommend for those looking to be outside of town

Relaxing and tranquil. The provided Keurig with pods was nice to have for easy morning coffee. Super comfortable bed.

Perfect Getaway

We had a lovely time in Homer and the Otters Den was perfect spot to stay. The communication with the owner was wonderful and they were very helpful and accommodating too. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Lovely home in homer

Wonderful place to stay in Homer. Location was gorgeous, you can see the spit from their front windows. The house was well maintained and furnished. The owner was very responsive and friendly. Having grown up in anchorage and having been to Homer hundreds of times, this place is on the top of my list. Their effort to make a beautiful place for guests is well shown. We thank them again!

Great Property and Host

Beautiful property and Jason was a great host! Great spot for a family with a dog! My Lizzie moved it, as did our family! Beds were excellent!!! Will definitely book again!

Great stay at Otters Den

We had a lovely stay at Otters Den! The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the clean, cozy upstairs unit was just what our little family of four needed for our stay in Homer. Jason, the host, was very responsive. He even brought out some lawn games for the kids to play! Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful, Clean Cabin with lots of extras!

Beautiful, extremely clean property. We were on the upper level of the cabin with great views. Cabin had everything you could need or want during your stay. Beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers in there. Hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating. They went above and beyond helping us find a last minute fishing charter when the one we had was cancelled due to mechanical issues. Also loved that there was a washer & dryer available, very much needed after a day out on a fishing charter! I would definitely rent here again if we get back to the Homer area!

Sweet Retreat

We came down from Anchorage to XC ski Homer’s fun trails and had a great “get away” experience. The Otter’s Den was perfect for a couple and would work for a small family with older children or a teenager. Nice views, a great well-equipped kitchen, and quiet! We appreciated being a little more removed from the road noise of town while still being 5-15 mins from most of our destinations/restaurants/brewery/art shops, etc. The bed was comfortable and the larger entry area that had a real closet and contained all our outdoor gear in one place was a surprise gift. The space was clean and contemporary and had plenty of outlets which we often find lacking in vacation rentals. This place would be great for two families to share in the summer (the upper/lower unit) with a large yard and nice lower deck to hang out on. The only downside was it takes a while for the hot water to get hot in the shower-but once it does, it’s enough. We will consider the Otter’s Den for future Homer adventures and recommend to friends. Overall, one of the best Homer rentals we’ve tried over the years!

Awesome place, awesome host!

My husband and I came down to Homer before we closed on our house here. There were some unexpected delays and Jason was extremely accommodating. We also had our two large dogs with us and they had no problem enjoying the spacious yard. Highly recommend this stay!

Beautiful view, clean, all the essentials

Jason, the host has taken great care to set up a very nice Verbo. This includes all the essentials plus some extra nice touches. He was a very gracious host offering to help with suggestions for restaurants in the area and any items that we might need at the last minute. Overall, we really enjoyed staying in this VRBO and would happily book again. One thing that might be noteworthy is that this particular unit requires going up a pretty steep set of stairs. This might be tricky for someone who is older or who has problems with balance. For those individuals, booking the downstairs unit would be a win. One other thing to mention is A this is pet friendly accommodation. Even though this VRBO is pet friendly, there were no signs of animals having stayed in the unit prior to our visit. There is a nice lawn area for walking dogs and the property even included a clean up station for number twos.

Great Homer cabin

This was an amazing find! The property was a duplex cabin (the foreground cabin in the pictures). It was just a few minutes into town, no more than 15 minutes to the end of the Homer Spit. The place was clean with everything a traveling family might need. The owner was on site (the larger house in the background) and very responsive to all of our questions. Nice laundry facility was very convenient. There were even multiple lawn games including archery! We, unfortunately, had some of our party cancel last minute due to Covid. So, we only needed one of the cabins instead of both that we had booked. The owner was very generous in finding a fair settlement. Overall, a great place with a great owner. We would book again in a heartbeat.

March Spring Break Trip

We enjoyed our stay in March during the off season. We liked being up East Hill Rd and the Fantastic view. Cute decor and very comfy furniture and beds. We drank our coffee and watched the falling snow each morning. We recommend and will definitely check out this dog friendly rental during the summer as well!

Cute place and great location

The cabin is updated and super cute! Was perfect for a couple days for my family. Close to town but far enough up the mountain that you get an amazing view! There was one minor issue when we got there but Teena took care of it immediately and was always super responsive with calls and messages. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

Cute, clean, and a beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay! It’s beautifully decorated and well maintained. Huge yard for puppies and kids to play. Beautiful view from the hillside. Owners are easy to talk to and always available. Just a short drive to the spit. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Excellent choice for us. We enjoyed our time in Homer and staying at the Otter’s Den made it even more memorable. Morning moose visits and awesome views are some of the highlights. Our boys loved the e-mountain bikes. Thanks to both our hosts Jason and Teena for making our stay more enjoyable.
