This home provides everything you’ll need for a quick get-away. Features include a full kitchen, beautiful laminate floors throughout, and a stacked washer/dryer. Cozy up in the living room or bedroom and enjoy the cable TV and DVD players provided. Soak up the island sun on the open patio with table and chairs. Door opens from hall directly into back yard for easy access for you or your dog.

just okay

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: this is a very small house with very little storage. the counters and sinks were clean enough but the bedding was very old and worn. the wifi was spotty at best. also the cleaning person showed up early which made me rush and leave a few things behind

Lovely place ....with some probelems

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The walk to the beach was easy and the weather fabulous for November! The house was cute and comfortable but the kitchen floor is all tore up and with holes -- a rug over it --but still a tripping hazard. Internet went out often--Island realty came to get it fixed but there continued to be issues. Could have been cleaner as well-no dishwasher.

Good accommodation for a small family with pets

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family stayed at this house last year. We loved the location and the accommodation for our pets, that we were excited to stay again. This house is perfect for small families and a great location from the beach. Very quiet area with very pleasant neighbors. A very different experience than last time with mostly things out of anyone's control. Mosquitos were very bad. Our family and pets were ate up and we used bug spray. Due to the storms, the property had lots of down limbs and our car was covered with debris and acorns. Noone came to clean up the exterior and to check after the storms. The wifi didn't work the whole time and the cable was out for 4 days. DVD player also didn't work. We did get notification of an outage in the area. The floors in the kitchen are rotted and falling in. They were covered up with lots of rugs. What was upsetting is that the floors were in the same condition last year. One would think that this would be a hazard and the owner would replace. Especially with the money this house brings in every month. Hopefully these small adjustments can be fixed to make this property perfect!

Tear it Down

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place needs condemned. I booked this place because it was decently near the beach, about an 8 minute walk, but that's all that I can say was good Wifi didn't work and this house clearly has lots of plumbing and foundation issues, with lots of water damage and thrown together fixes. The water constantly drips on both sinks--and by drip I mean it's nearly a flow. The floors were so bad that they had attempted to cover all surfaces with a rug, and the rugs were gross. I don't even want to know what was under the rugs. The floor was so uneven and moving and rotting away, it was just unsanitary and hazardous. The doors weren't secure and made me feel very unsafe the entire time. They had no deadbolt and you could see large cracks in them straight to the outside and watch bugs crawl right in! The backyard was squishy had worms everywhere. The first day I got there, I thought wow they could have at least swept off the porch and chairs that were covered in leaves and debris. I swept them myself and attempted to sit outside but due to whatever is going on back there it was constant mosquitos, pecans were dropping out of the trees and into my coffee. The fence was being held up by slanted 2x4s. The house oddly had no curtains except maybe one or 2 windows and the blinds had holes in them. There were some valances above windows that had been thumb-tacked to the wall instead of on a rod. There were curtains folded up next to some of the windows but no curtain rod to hang them. The 1 bathroom was very small, not really enough room to even close the door unless you stand in the shower. The cleanliness of the countertops seemed good, but the shower was not clean. I had to go buy some cleaning supplies just to make it through my couple nights there. The house seemed like it used to be an old garage and someone tried to DIY it into a rental without any knowledge. I frantically searched for another rental the entire time while I was there, no luck. Don't make the same

Not as described

Great location but the home was in bad shape; water damage, no dishwasher as listed. Got Money back due to the inaccuracy of the listing. This home shouldn’t be listed until repairs are made!

Weekend trip

There needs to be a disclaimer since the kitchen floor is destroyed, it wouldn't be safe for older people or any pregnant women. This needs to be taken care of immediately.

Harnett Blvd Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in an excellent location, only 1 block from the beach. The fenced-in backyard is great too for those traveling with pets! The house however is a bit dirty (especially the rugs/floors) and there was an odd smell during our entire stay. It was a good value and we had a nice stay, but it would have been better without the dirtiness and smell.

Disappointment in IOP

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our main priority was to have a rental experience where we could enjoy the area with our dog. The property location was perfect for that requirement as it was a few blocks from the beach and a friendly dog park. The problem with the property is the fencing in the backyard was missing slates and provided areas for the dog to escape. We knew the rental was small, but the interior was old and needs much maintenance. The kitchen floorig detached and spongy. The throw rugs were dirty. We were there during a cold snap and the air conditioner/heater was programmed for sleep mode and was freezing inside until 6:00 am when it was programed to turn on. The kitchen did not have a dishwasher, the cabinet doors are falling off their hinges. The back door lock needs to be upgraded. The property was clean, just in desperate need of upgrading.

Musty Mess

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property has become more tired since our previous stay. The floor tiles are coming apart so that debris collects between them. There are larger gaps in the kitchen floor that can be felt through the carpet piece placed in the kitchen area (kinda gross). In order for the air conditioner to work properly, the dehumidifier must be run 24/7 and the water emptied every day. It is lined with mold and mildew, so that everything (including your clothes) has a faint musty odor. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I came home, opened my suitcase, and was hit with the smell. The clothes that I washed in the washer/dryer smelled even worse bc the rubber gasket in the washing machine door needs to be cleaned. I’m pretty sure this will have been our last stay at this house. It’s really only worth about $100/night, even at the beach.

Dilapidated

So here are my answers to their questions:Overall our stay on IOP was great;The location near the beach is great, but it used to be better because the owner across the street is running an illegal golf cart rental which blocked our driveway and woke us up in AM.The house is dilapidated, hole in the kitchen floor covered with decaying carpet, windows too dirty to see out of, septic backed up in garden bec it hadn't been emptied for 6 years, squirrels in the attic, kitchen is on its last legs last legs and very poorly equipped.I first rented this house in 2005 & a number of times since. It used to be a lot better. It's a shame the owner can't spend a little $ to make the outside more comfortable. I only stay here because it's dog friendly.

The yard was a great feature but now there is no privacy because of large new home nearby. Home has lights on all night and they shine in bedroom making it hard to sleep. Construction workers on house next door woke us up early each day. We have great memories of the house but would not recommend at this time.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This LITTLE house is in a nice location, quiet neighborhood & short walk to the beach. The back yard is nice, but doesn't appear to have been sprayed for mosquitoes. The house is just okay, kitchen baseboards/a cabinet door are literally falling apart. Bathroom is TINY. LOTS of moisture in the house and A/C barely keeps the place cool. *The power went out to most of the house on day five of our stay (NO A/C) the Island Realty team was very responsive to our call and quickly moved us to a much nicer home for our last two nights. I would use them again for a different rental!

Pet-Friendly Small Rental House Near Charleston, SC

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice, quiet location on the Isle of Palms near Charleston, SC. I liked the fenced-in back yard for our dog. Easy check-in and check-out. Recommendations: You may need to change the hot water tank. I was reportedly fixed during our vacation there, but hot water showers were limited. There are 4 in my family...the shower was warm for 1 and a half short (4-6 minutes) showers each day. We didn't use much hot water at other times either! My wife NEVER got a warm shower the entire stay!Also, an e-mail with specific recommendations on what to bring to the house that we stayed at would have been nice. I know that you have general information about what to expect on one of your links, but it would have been nice to have specific details for the house we stayed in. For instance, For our 4-night stay for 4 people, bring,Towels and wash clothes for 4 people.Dishwashing soap and kitchen towels (as there is no dishwasher at this house).Bring tall and short garbage bags for the waste cans.Bring bedding for Queen-sized bed and sofa-bed. Extra pillows, optional.ETC....(I think you get the point)Otherwise, overall, an enjoyable stay. Very clean and in excellent condition. The owners really care for their home. Everything needed was there--even a dehumidifier. The property manager was great.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would not stay at this property again because of the size of it, and the condition of the "fenced" backyard. I chose this one because it was pet friendly and had a "fully fenced in backyard." This was not actually the case. The chain-link fencing was in poor condition, and on one side of the stockade fencing, my little dog could crawl right under it. I did appreciate the new cookware, pots, pans, etc, but it would have been VERY helpful to have instructions on the washer/dryer. I'm sorry I had to have one of the maintainance people come out to open the washer door for me. I also didn't like the fact that there were no places my dog could look outside, so it was just like staying in a hotel instead of a house. The other places I have stayed with Island Realty have been much better. Thanks for asking. Betsy Baste
