Casa Almendros está situada entre los pueblos blancos de Sedella y Salares, con vistas a la majestuosa montaña de Maroma, parte de la sierra de Tejeda, que forma un magnífico telón de fondo. La casa está construida al estilo de una finca tradicional española, rodeada de olivos y almendros y está escondida en la ladera con vistas a un hermoso valle con vistas al mar Mediterráneo. La casa está en un nivel con una cocina abierta, comedor y sala de estar. Un pasillo desde la cocina te lleva a la despensa con un gran frigorífico-congelador, más arriba en el pasillo está la habitación doble con ventanas francesas que conducen a la terraza, el baño con ducha y el inodoro se encuentran al otro lado del pasillo. El dormitorio principal con baño en suite con bañera completa y ducha fija se encuentra al final del pasillo y tiene ventanas francesas que conducen a la terraza de la piscina. Hay muchas áreas afuera para; comer "al aire libre" usando la barbacoa de gas, descansar en las tumbonas mientras lee un libro, tomar el sol en las tumbonas junto a la piscina y, por supuesto, sentarse al aire libre con una copa de vino disfrutando de las vistas y viendo la puesta de sol. El alto nivel del alojamiento, la paz y la tranquilidad, el delicioso canto de los pájaros y las hermosas puestas de sol son los comentarios más frecuentes de los visitantes. Este es el lugar ideal para unas vacaciones relajantes, pasar días explorando el área o simplemente descansar junto a la piscina. Para los más enérgicos, este es un paisaje fantástico para caminar a todos los niveles, a través de paisajes sensacionales. Mapas y guías están disponibles en la casa para usar. El pueblo de Sedella con dos pequeñas tiendas de comestibles y panadería está a 20 minutos a pie y Salares (con un pequeño supermercado) está a 5 minutos en coche. Ambos son pueblos españoles vírgenes y tienen una selección de bares y restaurantes.
Hay un centro de visitantes en Sedella con una pequeña tienda de regalos, aquí puede aprender sobre la flora y fauna de esta área, así como su historia.

Cosy stay in a stormy/rainy week

We visited Casa Almendros for a week when the coast of Spain was ravaged by big storms but our stay at this beautiful spot in the mountains was great! The casa was cosy, spacious and clean and there was a cot for our daughter to sleep in. The road to the casa was a bit scary sometimes with the storms but that is to be expected. Caroline was very helpfull and hopefully we can visit again with better weather 😅

Wonderful place in the mountains

We spent some wonderful days in the Casa Almendros. Caroline was an amazing host. The surrounding of the Casa is beautiful and we enjoyed the pool everyday! Everything was clean and we felt home the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a hideaway in the mountains, this is the perfect place for you surrounded by the beautiful nature of Andalusia!

Fantastic Villa, Splendid Welcome, Wonderful

We had a wonderful week at Casa Almendros ! Villa has everything one can wish for. It exceeded our expectations, also thanks to Caroline and Malcolm who are lovely, super welcoming and available when needed. Villa feels in a remote place, at the same time it is very close to great places to visit and to Sedella which has an excellent local restaurant (with a chef who worked at a ** restaurant in Ronda (expect fantastic food)). Highly recommended!

Peace, quiet and restful stay

This was our second stay at Casa Almendros. Caroline and Malcolm looked after us very well before during and after our visit - thanks. The house is equipped with all that is needed and has the feel of a home rather than a rental. It's nice to bits and pieces available in the kitchen and larder when you forget them at the supermercado! We were blessed with fantastic weather and did not stray much further than the 3 local villages. The views and sounds out over the campos are delightful - particularly in the evening.

Perfect relaxing break at the most wonderful villa

The villa was exactly as described. It offers a well facilitated relaxing accommodation in a secluded rural setting. A car is essential as is the confidence to drive on winding, steep mountain roads. The support provided by Caroline and Malcolm was excellent. It is possible to walk to Sedella (30 mins there uphill; 15 minutes back!) where there is one small but useful shop and a lovely bar / cafe that does excellent menus del dia for €8!! Lots of pretty mountain villages to drive to. Would heartily recommend and would gladly come back. 😊😊

The most beautiful house in a wonderful location!

Casa Almendros is THE most wonderful house, the photos really cannot do it justice, it’s absolutely beautiful. We’ve stayed in several houses in Andalusia & this is without doubt the most beautifully looked after, perfectly designed house we’ve had the pleasure of staying in. It’s immaculately clean & furnished with everything you need for a perfect holiday. Everything is super well organised & just so well thought out! The house could easily accommodate a family of four, and two couples could stay without feeling on top of each other as both bedrooms have separate exits to the beautiful terraces & garden. I honestly could go on & on! We arrived during some very warm weather & were immediately struck by how cool the house was inside (although it has a lovely fire if it gets chilly!). The house is set into the hillside, with lovely terraced areas and beautiful views of mountains, wildflowers & the sea. Sedella village is within walking distance & we spent a lot of time just walking in the countryside around the house. It’s extremely peaceful although doesn’t feel at all isolated, which is a very rare thing to find. It’s really a lovely part of the world & we visited several villages, none of which were more than half an hour’s drive. We especially loved Competa, it’s definitely worth a visit. Caroline & Malcolm, who look after the house, were so kind & welcoming, as well as fantastically brilliant at looking after that house - thank you again to both of you. I honestly cannot think of any reason why anyone wouldn’t love this house, if I haven’t made it clear already (!) we loved it. In fact I recommend you stop searching for the perfect place right now & book Casa Almendros immediately - you won’t be disappointed I promise.

Villa with pool

After a journey up the mountain with hairpin corners the villa was down a track just outside the a beautiful village - the journey was worth the beautiful setting. The villa looks out to a fantastic mountain range , very private and quiet with just the sound of the goat herder and goats wondering by . We went to the village Competa a couple of times which had a good selection of restaurants . Also went to the coast to swim in the sea and a day trip to Alhambra.

Casa y paisaje preciosos

Hemos disfrutado mucho de la estancia en la casa rural. La casa y los alrededores eran muy bonitos. Se encuentra muy cerca del pueblo de Sedella donde se pueden hacer rutas de senderismo. La piscina privada es un punto a su favor pues la hemos disfrutado mucho. La casa tiene todo lo que se puede desear para pasar una semana tranquila. Por poner algún pero, el acceso a la casa es difícil, se trata de un camino de tierra por lo que el acceso con coche bajo tiene cierta dificultad. Además todos los juegos y películas en DVD que hay están en inglés cuando la casa está abierta también a clientes españoles. Se exige un depósito previo de 100 libras esterlinas.

Una estancia ideal para relajarse.

Es una casa ideal para días de descanso y relajación. Tiene una gran piscina, a la que le da el sol durante todo el día y con unas vistas preciosas. No perderse la puesta de sol desde la propia piscina. El equipamiento es muy completo, tanto en la cocina (con todo tipo de menaje), como en el salón (televisión, reproductor de video, juegos de mesa), o en la piscina (tumbonas, sombrillas, inflables). Cuenta con todo lo que se pueda necesitar. Y está muy bien ubicada, cerca de dos pueblos preciosos (Sedella y Saleras) y con varias rutas de senderismo, Muy recomendable.

Fantastische Auszeit

Wir haben unsere Herbstferien mit unseren beiden Kindern, 10 und 12 Jahre, in der Finca Almendros verbracht. Es war so unglaublich schön, erholsam, ruhig und so idyllisch...ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die eine Auszeit von Stress, Lärm und Hektik brauchen. Es ist sehr abgeschieden und man kann absolute Ruhe genießen! Für uns und unsere Kinder war es genau das Richtige und wir werden den ganzen Winter von der Erholung zehren können. Alles war wie beschrieben und noch besser! Caroline war super, das Haus komfortabel, die Küche top, der Pool war ein Traum, der Blick und die Landschaft herrlich! Abends hörte man die Eulen und Käuzchen, wir haben ein Chamäleon gesehen und jeden Abend schlich ein Fuchs über die Terrasse (war aber friedlich!). Eine süße Katze saß auch jeden Tag schon erwartungsfroh vor der Tür, der Schäfer zog mit seiner Herde täglich die Runden durch das Tal...Natur pur. Zweimal sind wir zum Strand, Playa del Maro und waren in Competa zum Essen... Todo perfecto - wir werden sicher wiederkommen! Gracias y hasta luego! Silke mit Familie :-)

Stunning

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Almendros. Everything was as described and from the pictures it looked amazing but it was even better seeing it with your own eyes. The views were breathtaking. The villa stunning with everything you needed and lots of previous guests had left things like pasta, cereals, herbs, spices, oils etc…. It was so comfortable with lots of different spaces to hang out. The aircon and swimming pool were a lifesaver as the temperatures soared above 40 degrees. Lots of inflatables and pool toys for the kids (and grown ups) including goggles and snorkels, bodyboards, lilos etc… We saw lots of wildlife too, Bee-eaters, geckos, lizards, eagle, snake (False Smooth Snake) and lots of other weird and wonderful creatures. Our kids absolutely loved the place and were quite happy to just stay put. We did take a walk to Sedella one day which only took about 20-25mins but it was so hot for us that from then on, we drove in. A car is necessary and if you can get a good early flight to reach the big supermarket on your way up, I would suggest stocking up there as the local supermarkets are not as well stocked unless you drive out to some of the bigger villages.. We had plans to go on a few day trips but we just loved hanging out at the villa so only went out for 2-3 meals and then chilled out. It is the first holiday were we have come home and not felt like we needed another one. The communication between Caroline and Malcolm was spot on! They gave perfect directions and lots of useful local information. We would love to come back here one day.

An exceptional property with stunning mountain views

We have just returned from a magical, two week family holiday at Casa Almendros. If you value peace and quiet, amazing mountain views, a rural setting with traditional villages on your doorstep - then this is the place for you! We were met in Sedella by Caroline and Malcolm - who couldn't be better hosts. The property was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated with many traditional lamps and pictures. We really felt as if we were in a much loved family home. The outside terrace, with various seating areas and beautiful plants and flowers, was just heavenly. The pool was superb.... cool and crystal clear. We were are able to sit in the sun from early morning until late evening, if we wanted to, or cool down in all the shaded areas. A highlight was sitting with a glass of wine in hand; watching the sun dip behind the hills; the sky turn red and the bats flutter past our heads for a drink from the pool - priceless. A fabulous property that we would highly recommend and will definitely return to in the near future.

Lovely holiday cottage.

This is a very well presented and well equipped property in a beautiful setting and is ideal for a holiday for anyone wanting to spend time in a quiet location with lovely views. This is real Spain - listening to the bells of the goat herds passing the cottage and watching the world go by from the terrace. Malcolm and Caroline were great - they have years of local knowledge and were always on hand to help with any problems.

merveilleux !!!

nous avons passé des vacances merveilleuses dans cette propriété... la maison est très bien situé dans ce cadre naturel avec la montagne et la vue sur les collines d'oliviers et d'amandiers. c'est un endroit paisible et très reposant tout en étant proche de la ville de sedella. l'agencement de la maison est très bien ,on s'y sent tout de suite a l'aise...nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine avec cette vue magnifique. nous avons été particulierement ravi par l'accueil de caroline qui a été adorable .

Feel good oasis in the mountains near the sea

Casa Almendros in Sedella is a very lovely and peaceful place up in the mountains. You need a car, because the casa is located in the countryside at the foot of the Sierra Tejeda. The house is very private and you have stunning views around. The typical white little old Spanish Village Sedalla is lovely. You can walk to it in about 10-15 minutes. There you find small traditional restaurants and bars. In little shops you get all the basics you need to prepare nice meals at the casa. If you want to visit the bigger Village Competa, another nice typical Spanish Village, you reach it after 2o minutes driving on good roads with wonderful views. Casa Almendros is a cultivated property. The generous terrace, the plants all around and the pool area invite for staying, repose and to have fun. The house is very affectionate and furnished tastefully in the traditional Spanish style. It is generously equipped and everything exists in good quality, so that one feels fast very well. There is also a good access to Wifi. The housekeepers Caroline and Malcolm are very kind and friendly and always there, if help or advice is necessary. We have spent here wonderful and unforgettable holidays in October and have recovered excellently. The weather is excellent. Everybody who can enjoy the marvellous nature, the views, the footpaths and the rest in the mountains is in good hands here in Casa Almendros. Here one can switch off from the outside world, summon energy and feel fine.

Beautiful family suitable home with a lovely pool in remote mountain area

A beautifully decorated and well maintained villa in a private setting. Large, well equipped living space and gorgeous outside area, with a private pool, BBQ and ample seating for al fresco dinners over looking the mountain views. We had a fantastic stay. Our two young children were able to run freely and enjoy the pool whilst we relaxed. A bit remote but would highly recommend this place for quiet family time set away from the busy areas. A car is essential to get through the winding mountain roads for food and supplies. Nerja caves about an hours drive away were spectacular and highly worth a visit. The managers met us on arrival to settle us in and were friendly and helpful. Absolutely lovely family holiday!!!

We live in Oxford in the UK but the property managers , and our friends , Caroline & Malcolm live in the village of Sedella so they arrange the bookings and are there to meet the guests on arrival . Our family really enjoy staying at Casa Almendros whenever we can so that we can recharge our batteries and enjoy the peace an quiet of the area .

We bought land with views of a beautiful, secluded valley, the mountains and the sea. We love this area because it is still unspoilt, still very Spanish, away from the crowds in beautiful countryside and yet near enough to the coast for a day out as well as day trips to Granada , Malaga , Cordoba & Sevilla .

Fabulous views. Peace and tranquility but the village and its bars and restaurants only 20 minutes away on foot. Friendliness of the local Spanish people. Sun, (of course), good walking routes from the doorstep. A relaxed way of life. Our perfect day is a stroll into the village for the market and coffee in the bar, chatting with Spanish friends on the way and then back to the house for lunch and a swim.
