We stayed in the bottom floor of the Tarzan Jungle House for 2 nights, and overall it was a great place to stay. We had a great time using the swimming pool, water slide, and jacuzzi, as well as wandering around the property taking in the views. We weren’t aware when we booked the place that it is actually 3 separate rentals- bottom floor, top floor, and treehouse, which was not a problem and the other couples staying were very nice, but just something to be aware of (would be great to rent the whole place for a larger family or group). We did have a few small issues (things that were stated in the listing that weren’t there)- the listing said that it had a microwave and toaster (which maybe one of the other rentals did but the downstairs did not), which were very minor given that there was a working stove and oven, but would have made cooking and reheating leftovers a lot easier as the stove and oven there is very small. The listing also said that the zipline had harnesses, which it did not. The manager, Juan Carlos was very kind and accommodating, but he told us when we got there that his son would come over to show us how to use it and never did, so we didn’t feel safe using it (the first zipline is to a platform, it is just a wooden disc type swing that you sit on and go. No helmets or harnesses). The last issue, and biggest one for us, was that the listing said that there was a car available for rent for $65 a day. We only needed a car during this part of our trip to get to Manuel Antonio so we didn’t rent a car beforehand and took a taxi to the house. I messaged the owner of the place, and he wasn’t even aware that their listing said there was a car available. We ended up being able to catch a bus to Quepos and a taxi to Manuel Antonio, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that we should have rented a car before arriving to the house. All in all it worked out and we had a great time at the house, but just a few things to be aware of for future renters. We would definitely come back to stay again though!
Also, we ate dinner our last night at a local farm- Hacienda Mil Bellezas- and it was the best meal we had during our entire trip! The owners Dani and Markus cooked us the most delicious homemade meal and set up a beautiful table outdoors for us to eat. They also offer day tours of their property and waterfall. They are only a few miles down the road, check them out on Facebook!
