Un pueblo de pescadores en la parte más tranquila de todo Yucatán. Celestún es famoso por sus flamingos donde puedes ir a dar un paseo en lancha y ver cientos de flamingos. Un Ojo de Agua hermoso y poder caminar el la playa por kilómetros y no ver nada una sola alma más que pura naturaleza y animales marinos como delfines, estrellas de mar y caballitos de mar. También hay noches que Puedes ver la luminicensia

NOTA:. Este no es un hotel. No hay recepción y no hay nada de comida y nada que comprar hasta el pueblo que está a 6 kilómetros y el camino es de terracería y están malas condiciones pero realmente vale la pena cuando llegas al lugar.

Celestun Playa Maya

The 4-5km road from Celestun to the Play Maya is not good. Potholes the size of cars. Drive slowly. When we arrived the Property Managers, were not expecting us. They contacted the owner and he had forgotten. He offered an extra day for no-charge for the confusion but we couldn't accept due to plans. After unpacking in #12 we discovered the water pressure was almost non-existent. The Property Managers contacted the owner and he had has moved into #17. The common areas of the Playa Maya were very well maintained, the pool was clean but between the units and off the deck to the beach there was lots of debris. Bed and Pillows were very hard and uncomfortable and also we were missing a toilet seat that the property managers replaced the next day, they were very prompt with all requests. After traveling with VRBO for years we expected an information sheet explaining about the rules or restaurants We were very disappointed.

The appartment is functional and clean. The ground is well maintained. The pool and the beach are beautiful. But the whole place felt half deserted. The dock is not maintained/not usable, taken over by birds (strong smell too). There is a large 2 story cabana but it is fenced off and probably close to collapse on itself. It probably was beautiful when built and maintained but kind of an eyesore now. Terrible communication from the owner. No instruction on vrbo/expedia how to check-in, so we expected somebody to help us when we arrived. No cell reception didn't help.... Fortunately we were helped by other guests, and directed to Olivia, who was very nice and helpful. Also as noted by other reviewers, this is pretty far from Celestun downtown, 20 minutes of dirt road. Overall we enjoyed our 2 days there (except the check-in) and we would recommend to others if they are looking for a quite and remote place.

Peaceful & simple

Very relaxing stay! Simple, but sufficient amenities. The beach was awesome, but the pool was great too! Olivia was super helpful.

This remote property was beautiful. The villa is very comfortable and located on a pristine beach. The water is calm and healthy with lots of small fish. I hope to return. The owners were really helpful as the electricity was out when we arrived and they were willing to move us to another villa with electricity. Beautiful pools are on the property that are well maintained.

Nice, calm and clean beach. Not crowded. Great pool. Helpful staff. Ample space in rooms for a comfortable stay. 3 mi. Of dirt road to get to property, slow driving during rainy season.
