With kayaks at your disposal and open land begging to be explored, the possibilities for fun are endless!

And here's the cherry on top: enjoy exclusive discounts for week-long and month-long stays! Please keep in mind additional guest fees apply for parties exceeding 12 guests, so let's keep the party honest and exciting for everyone involved.

To ensure your stay is worry-free, we require all guests to purchase a $99 protection policy with CSA and place a fully refundable deposit of $500 or more. Alternatively, you can opt for a $5,000 deposit for ultimate peace of mind.

A very nice stay with friends and family

We rented the house for a long weekend for our family and two other couples. The house was very comfortable and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen area is very nice and had plenty of room for everyone to gather around. The backyard also had plenty of room for relaxing and playing, even on a chilly November weekend. I will say that the pond had mostly dried up, so the water view was not much to look at. I'm not sure how often that happens. The host was also very responsive and helpful in getting us situated.

Excellent house!

We had an excellent stay with almost no complaints. The gas grill outdoors was in rough shape and didn’t work great, but the kitchen is modern and is an easy alternative. Everything else was perfect! I highly recommend this property for a family and/or friends trip

Monticello

We had a nice time. The house is large and generally has all the amenities listed. There were some issues, however. The lake is overgrown with algae, so not good for swimming, but the pool was great. There were also some maintenance issues with the house.

We had an exceptional experience! Pool was clean, heated. House boasted plenty of space and entertainment and has a great location. Plenty pf wood stocked for multiple fires by the water or house. Only thing I could say would be the grass was quite long, but did not impact our stay!

Beautiful Location Lake House

The house was clean and is nice and sits on a beautiful lake but it could use a little TLC and maintenance. Overall it had everything we needed for a nice vacation home - especially the bathrooms which were updated and very nice.

Ideal for Larger Groups!

I would absolutely recommend a stay at Ben’s lake house! While the reviews below are true that the house could use a coat of fresh paint, that’s where my areas for improvement end. The value of this property is 10x what you would get at a resort for a large group. We did everything from cook in the pizza oven, to playing spike ball in the backyard, to jumping off the dock into the lake - not sure what resort has access to all of that in the privacy of your own group. If you’re here in a good weather month, we even rented pontoon boats on the lake the house is on. Does it get more convenient? There’s a pool in the secluded front yard if the lake isn’t your thing, and downstairs there’s arcade games and a pool table. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, which made cooking for a large audience easy. The house isn’t the only thing to do either, and our friend group made use of the local casino (which has big city casino vibes) and golf courses. Monticello was a hidden gem just 90 minutes from NYC, and I would absolutely go back to Ben’s home.

Spacious and inspriring

This is a large and quiet location for a family or group get together. We loved the squarfootage, pool, kitchens and baths (all updated). Ben was excellent to interact with as a host.

Amazing stay!! Highly recommended!!

We had a really amazing time by this great house. The house is very up to date and clean!! The views were amazing and the lake was fantastic!!! Ben offered us a couple kayaks and fishing equipment to enjoy ourselves by the lake, which we greatly appreciated. There is also an amazing game room, and a very nice fire pit. The property is massive and is extremely private. He was always available and responded to any concerns right away. I highly recommend anyone thinking of staying here to book!!!

Outside of the property not maintained

While the house is beautifully appointed and resourced inside, we had a lot of reservations about how the property was rented to us, from its maintenance and state from its outside perspective 1. The outside dining table floor, chair cushions were absolutely filthy with bird droppings. Clearly it had not been cleaned for a while and no one had bothered to see how the state of outdoor was prior to arrival of guests. We were unable to enjoy a meal outside. 2. The pizza oven was very dirty. It did not work . The area around the fire pit was so dirty and clearly not been cleaned. 3. The outside grill had not been cleaned for a whole year going by its appearance. Again, we could not use it. 4. The grass was only mowed after our conversation. 5. The deck near the lake entrance was so dirty with so many booze bottles, bones, wood that one hated to go there. We were very upset having paid not an insignificant amount for the weekend. 6. The sink garbage disposer was not working (albeit there was a signage). That was a big nuisance as one had to manually evacuate . Not acceptable. 7. At the entrance of the house on our arrival, there were 2 salt bags as well as the floor was dirty . Not a welcome one expects. 8. The basement had the video game joystick not working, the inflatable bed was defective. Ben was prompt in his respone however and helped us with working out how to heat the pool

It's the little things that count

I would to have given a five star rating, but for the price we paid, I expected some of the little things to be better. Working with Ben was easy and pleasant. However, being an absentee landlord shows up in the details. The upsides: The interior of the house is lovely. It's a spacious home giving our family plenty of room to spread out on rainy days. The basement game room was a hit! Plenty of activities for all age groups. A spacious yard overlooking the lake allowed lots of room for stomp rockets and firefly hunting! The pool was the 'star of the show'! Comfortably heated with beautiful decking and plenty of seating. We spent a lot of time enjoying it. The downsides: We did notice a smoke detector was detached from the ceiling in the living room. The interior handrails are too wide to get a good grip on, which was a a problem for older family members. Homes we previously rented addressed that issue by adding compliant handrails. The wooden decking around the house is in sore need of repair. There are many gouges and lots of splintered wood. When we arrived, the grass had not been mowed so there were flowering weeds attracting bees. One of the children was stung soon after we got there. There was only one towel for each person. Upon calling Ben, he responded quickly and these issues were rectified. However, there shouldn't have been a need for a phone call. Because he doesn't personally oversee the property, these little things slip by.

FANTASTIC family getaway

We chose to stay at this heavenly property instead of our group of 12 heading back to Woodloch - and this compound checked all the boxes. It was luxuriously gorgeous, clean, homey. The perfect place to enjoy a family breakfast in the morning, head out on the lake in the morning, swim in the pool in the afternoon followed by a whiffle ball game on the yard, then a sunset bbq and smores at night. True perfection!!

WORST vrbo ever rented

Hands down, this was one of the most disappointing experiences we've had; the vrbo listing is a gross misrepresentation of the actual property. -The pool was green and filled with algae for 2 days - Pool gate broken leading to safety concerns with our young children. -The dock was broken/ pulled up onto the boat ramp and we were only notified the night before - BLOOD stains, makeup stains on bedding - Dishwasher fell out of the counter space whens opened; causing injury. - Chairs and benches by the water broken & unusable - Front Door has a 1/2 inch gap at floor, allowing black flies everywhere - AC broken; master bedroom was up to 80 degrees. Bandaid solution portable AC that squealed loudly and did little; water in basement as a result - Toilet seat was broken upstairs, no blinds, dirty towels - no maintenance; broken lounge chairs, deck and siding peeling - Master #2 fireplace broken, bathtub broken, and bathroom light broken creating a strobe light effect at all times. - pool table useless, arcade broken - online said two queen beds in lower level & twin in the master bedroom -neither present - the door locked on its own; no way to lock the door if you are doing a group outing for the day READ THE BAD REVIEWS- THEY ARE ALL SPOT ON If VRBO allowed more space for details, we have more to say, and pictures. In the words of the owner, Ben, "You are paying for the roof over your head, not the [amenities]." Extremely overpriced for the quality of home you receive.

Great adult getaway!

We chose this property to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday away from all of our kids and we couldn’t have been happier! The house was well equipped, fully updated and all adults slept comfortably. The pool and waterfront were great, we loved the deck and fire pit and the kitchen was perfect for family style cooking. The host was communicative and responsive during the booking process and throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Staying active in nature with plenty of activities, watersports, and amenities was my dream growing up. Our family comes together and enjoys spending time with one another. We sit by the fire, roast marshmallows under the stars and enjoy each others company. This home allows me to live my dream and share it with other families who feel the same way!

This is everything I could have ever dreamed about in a property. After searching for many years I finally found the property that pretty much has it all. Large 5 Acres of private lake front land in the middle of the Catskills. Its a place for me and the family to unwind and relax. Breathe in fresh air and enjoy the peace and quiet from the busy city life. We managed to find a safe haven with a multitude of activities, fun, sports, and relaxation. The most beautiful part is the night sky and clear stars that are almost impossible to see in a city environment.

The house is a very large contemporary looking lake home in great condition. It sits on 5 acres of land with about 200 feet of Lake Frontage. It has a private boat launch and an in-ground heated pool. There are activities for all seasons of the year and lots of privacy! There are porches, balconies, decks, and open land to breath fresh air and enjoy the lake views and wildlife. Whether its a snowy winter ATV trip through the wood trails or a sunny summer Jet-ski water-sports day, everyone in the family comes together to create new bonds.
