IMPORTANT: The renter must sign a TLUXP Rental Agreement and speak to a TLUXP agent within 48 hours of booking for their reservation to be confirmed.

A 3.8% credit card fee will be added to the total amount due, (excluding the service fee charged by Vrbo), if a credit card is used for payment with TLUXP. This is not reflected in the quote by Vrbo.

Start your day by picking up your family and friends on your boat at the public pier at Gar Woods Grill & Pier, or rent kayaks at Waterman's Landing. In the evening, have a slice of pie at locals’ favorite CB's Pizza, and then head to Magic Carpet Mini-Golf for some competitive putting and arcade action. All these places are within a short walking distance, and they make the location of Sail Away vacation rental ideal for anyone seeking convenience.

If relaxing at home is more your style, the gorgeous backyard, lovely deck and expansive panoramic views of Sail Away are sure to delight. Inside, the open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, a 60” television, and an upscale kitchen are perfect for socializing. There is no better spot for a family seeking a fun Tahoe getaway than at this lakefront cabin, Sail Away.

Two buoys are available for guest use upon advanced request with a signed buoy addendum. Please contact our Concierge to rent a watercraft to access the buoys. Owner does not provide.
The boat lift on the shared pier is for owner use only. The owner may at times access his boat with minimal to no disruption to guests. Thank you for understanding.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is offered in your Vacation Rental Agreement for purchase through Generali Global. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance at the time your contract is executed. Travel insurance provides coverage for prepaid, nonrefundable expenses due to certain unforeseeable circumstances that may jeopardize your vacation, such as road closures, illness, etc. To view a Description of Coverage, enter your "Application Date" (date of purchase or today's date) and your state of residence here. You do not need to enter a policy number. Here you will find the complete details of what Travel Insurance will cover.

Pet Policy
Pets are allowed only at properties that indicate Pets Considered in the amenities tab. If you are planning to bring your pet, please conduct your search specifically for a home that is pet-friendly. Prior written approval is required, and a pet fee applies. Please call our office to inquire about your pet, as homes may have varying policies.

County Rules
Each county requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below, also included in your signed in the Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.
Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week, Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.

Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the Ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.

Red Flag Warnings: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.

Winter Driving
Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Summer Patio Furniture
Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.

Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.

Office Holiday Hours
The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.
