Look elsewhere for a townhouse rental.
Do NOT rent this property. There are mice in the townhome. The downstairs area has multiple mouse traps with some of the traps still having dead mice. I spoke to Lorraine about this issue and her response was “you are staying in the wilderness”, suggesting that mice inside the house is common. The house is located on a golf course with $4-6 million dollar homes in the neighborhood, so yes, we are in Tahoe, but far from a wilderness. Lorraine called me later and told me that someone would be out in the morning to address the issue. No one ever came. We sealed off the areas where the mice were seen, but that reduced the three bedrooms to two bedrooms.
The townhome needs maintenance and better upkeep. There are multiple lights that do not work, external door handles that fall off during use, a kitchen sink facet that is about to break, and kitchen pots and pans that need to be replaced as the non-stick coatings are damaged. It would also be helpful to have a Welcome Packet in the townhome to offer instructions on handling trash, operating the TVs, operating the fireplace, and heating thermostats. It would also be nice to know what services are available to renters at the Schaffers Mill clubhouse. None of this information was provided.
