Bucolic find near busy Avignon

This lovely gite was such a surprise to find down a country lane on the outskirts of Avignon. From there we had easy access by car to the beautiful hill towns of the Luberon and by public transport to Avignon itself. Simply furnished, well equipped, and with a private patio, we so enjoyed returning to its peace and quiet after hectic days of sightseeing. Our charming host Chantal was right next door and there if we needed her though we had complete privacy throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Nice location in Aviagnon

Very friendly host in a more rural environment . Very good parking space and easy to find. It was wonderfully located, and the hosts were so hospitable and helpful.

Perfect getaway

My friend and I have spent a beautiful and relaxing week in Chantal’s gite. The house is in between some fields, but still very close to Avignon's city center. The place was clean, well organized and well-equipped. And there was plenty of space! Chantal is also a very committed host. She was always available and helped us whenever we needed suggestions. Highly recommended!

Very nice stay at quiet location

Very friendly reception at arrival. The house had everything we needed. Location is perfect, very quiet but you need a car. We stayed with 4 adults. The lay-out of the house provides enough privacy. The garden and extra space was great.

Close to everything

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was only 15 minutes to the center of Avignon but you are in the country with little noise. The host was great. She worked with us with our bad French with lots of patience. We would recommend this to anyone.

Great stay in Avignon

Chantal and Gaby have a very nice apartment on the outskirts of Avignon. It is very well-located both to get into the old section "inside the walls" of Avignon and only a few minutes drive to the A7 which gets you to just about anyplace else you want to explore. They are great folks and really care about you and your stay in the Avignon area. The pictures and descriptions are all reliable and you will really enjoy your time here. One of the best property rental experiences we've had in many years of travelling. Chantal is very well prepared and most helpful. It is obvious that she wants only the best experience for her guests. The apartment has everything one can need. It is clean, with very good bathrooms and comfortable beds. Nothing but good things to report on this stay. Would stay there again next time we are in the area. The location is great for all the 'must see' places; Orange, the hill towns of the Luberon, Avignon itself, and Nimes. Would heartily recommend a visit to Gigondas, a small village with a big reputation for quality wines and some excellent restaurants. Overall, a great three days.

Immaculate with lovely attention to details

We had a wonderful stay in this villa. Chantal was very welcoming and considerate about the needs of her guests. Her thoughtful touches, such as the home-made jam, juice, fresh flowers and useful information about the local area were much appreciated. The villa is immaculately clean with a new and fresh feel to it. It has two spacious bathrooms, a contemporary kitchen and a great roof terrace that was terrific for star gazing! It’s very well-equipped with lovely attention to detail in terms of comfort and relaxation, including basic kitchen provisions (eg cooking oils, condiments and cleaning products), books for children, board games and table tennis. It is conveniently located for Avignon, nearby shops and supermarkets, and a good base for exploring the sites of Provence. Highly recommended!

A memorable stay

My husband and I stayed in this cosy cottage for a month. We also hosted a friend here for a couple of weeks. The cottage is spacious, full of natural light, clean and set in an a large green meadow! The tranquility of this place made every day perfect! The two bedrooms with their own showers and toilets were modern . The living / dining area was comfortable. The kitchen well equipped and we were able to cook whenever we felt like it. The host Chantal is warm, welcoming and an absolute treasure. She was ever so kind to us.It was clear she wanted us to have the best time! Chantal organised French lessons gave me a French cooking lesson in her own kitchen , invited us to drinks with her charming husband Gaby and daughter Marjorie. Chantal gave us insight s into places to visit around the region and dining options. All in all we had the most wonderful stay in this charming cottage with its own private entrance and outdoor BBQ and dining area. The Old City of Avignon is a fascinating place packed with culture, history, shopping and superb restaurants. We did excursions to towns and villages like Aix en Provence, Roussillon etc all just a day’s excursion .So the location, just 15 minutes from the old town of Avignon and close to supermarkets, Sunday farmers markets and interesting historical sites is fantastic. One of our best ever stays!

The lovely little house is located in a semi-rural area on the edge of Avignon. A car is needed, but it is only a 10 - 15 minute drive to an enormous free parking lot which has a frequent free shuttle into the heart of Avignon. A larger supermarket is less than a 10 minute drive. The house was perfect for two couples. One bedroom with full bath is located on the main floor and separate from the common area, The other, second floor, bedroom is very large, has a full bath and a walk out to a large balcony. The negative for some might be the rather steep, open stairs to reach it. The living/dining/kitchen area is also large and nicely furnished. The kitchen is exceptionally well supplied, and there is a large washing maching and dryer. Everything is in perfect working order. Chantel, the landlord, lives next door, and she or a member of her family are easily available if necessary. We wished our travel plans had allowed us to stay longer.

Highly Recommended

Chantal's rental is a very nice place to stay and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. Conveniently located just outside of Avignon for those with an automobile, it is clean and new. Bathrooms are nice and the kitchen is modern and well equipped with everything you will need. This is a nice quiet location with a very rural feel, but is just outside of the city. It has two good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. A large, modern supermarket is not far away. We would most definitely stay there again. The only consideration is that the second bedroom and bath are on the second floor and require using a steep spiral staircase. This was not a problem for our group, but if mobility is an issue, this should be considered. Also, my Garmin GPS could not locate her address. I had to find it using Google Earth and then zoom in on my GPS unit and touch the screen to select her location in order to set it as a saved place in my GPS. I would do this at home before leaving on the trip, or print a detailed zoomed in map of her neighborhood area to take with me to find her exact lane if you use a rental car GPS.

Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen

Liebe Chantal, wir haben Ihre Aufforderung wahr gemacht und Ihre geräumige Ferienwohnung zu einem ZuHause für uns gemacht: Die Tagesdecke aufs Sofa, die Liegestühle auf die Dachterrasse, zwei Stühle als Bekleidungsablage in die Schlafzimmer getan. Da wir leider eine kühle und regnerische Woche erwischt hatten, war die Wohnung ein großer Wohlfühlfaktor. Das obere Schlafzimmer mit Couch und Videogerät haben wir jeden Abend als Kino genutzt. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet, so dass wir leicht eine Abendspeise zubereiten konnten. Die Lage ist wirklich sehr schön ruhig, was uns wichtig wahr. Allerdings haben wir sämtliche Aktivitäten mit dem Auto begonnen, da fußwegig wenig attraktives ist. Wir waren im Vasarely Museum in Aix, haben Frank Gehrys LumaTurm in Arles bewundert, DavidBowieFotoausstellung in Remy besucht (noch bis September 25 geöffnet), einen regnerischen BrocanteBesuch in L'isle genossen UND am letzten Urlaubstag bei Sonnenschein eine wunderschöne Wanderung von Venasque nach Le Beaucet und zurück gemacht. Der kühle Rosé oben in Venasque hat uns versöhnt mit dem gemischten Wetter in der Karwoche.Liebe Chantal, danke für Ihre Freundlichkeit, Gastfreundschaft, Diskretion, Hilfsbereitschaft (Leselampe!!!) und Ermutigung mein rudimentäres Französich einzusetzen. Wir kommen gerne wieder - herzlichst Rosa P.S: Ganz wichtig, unbedingt über Av.de l'Amandier nicht über Av. des Aulnes anfahren.

Wunderschönes provenzalisches Ferienhäuschen in Avignon

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in dem schönen und sehr gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Die Lage ist toll, ländliche und doch nur vier Kilometer von der Altstadt Avignons entfernt. Vielen Dank an unsere Gastgeberin für den netten Empfang.

Komfortabel, ruhig gelegen

Dieses Ferienhaus am Rande von Avignon ist bestens geeignet für einen ruhigen und komfortablen Aufenthalt. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, die Gastgeberin überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ins Zentrum von Avignon benötigt man 8-10 Minuten.

Séjour en juillet

Un très bel endroit à recommander sans aucun souci. Le calme, l'équipement et la propreté de la maison, la proximité d'Avignon ont contribué à ce que notre séjour soit optimal. Un tout grand merci à Chantal qui a entièrement répondu aux questions que nous lui avions posées. Sa gentillesse est remarquable, de même que sa discrétion et sa disponibilité.

Tolles Ferienhaus in ruhiger Umgebung

Das Ferienhaus von Chantal in Avignon hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Wohnung hat der Beschreibung und den Fotos entsprochen. Für unsere Bedürfnisse war das Haus sehr gut und geschmackvoll ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Wir haben alles vorgefunden, was wir benötigten, um tolle Ferien zu verbringen. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Velotouren, um die Provence zu erkunden. Mit dem Velo konnte man dem Kanal entlang einfach ins Stadtzentrum fahren. Chantal war sehr hilfsbereit und bei Bedarf immer erreichbar. Wir können die Wohnung sehr gerne weiterempfehlen. Für uns war alles perfekt! Herzlichen Dank!

Sehr schöne Woche!

Das Haus liegt sehr schön ruhig am Rande von Avignon und ist ein guter Ort um die Umgebung mit den vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten, Städten und Dörfern zu erkunden. Wir wurden sehr nett mit einer köstlichen Flasche Rotwein empfangen. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Mit der neuen Spülmaschine hatten wir kleine Startschwierigkeiten aber Chantal kam sofort und konnte diese mit Hilfe ihres Sohnes auch in Gang setzen. Später brachte sie mir einen wunderschönen Strauß duftender Pfingstrosen, danke noch einmal dafür. Sie war jederzeit bei Fragen für uns da und wir haben uns trotz des sehr durchwachsenen Wetters sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war alles da, was man so braucht und wir hatten eine schöne und entspannte Woche. Fazit: Tolles und gepflegtes Haus, sehr nette Vermieter, wir möchten gerne noch einmal wieder kommen! Franco & Heike
