Enjoy everything there is to love about village life, from a vibrant community atmosphere to traditional pubs serving locally sourced menus, at this picturesque coastal cottage nestled in the heart of Appledore. Almost untouched by time with its narrow-cobbled lanes, the village boasts a unique selection of quaint tearooms, pubs and restaurants scattered along the historic quay. Appledore provides a truly unique getaway, perfectly placed for exploring North Devon’s rugged countryside and coastline. Jump aboard the seasonal ferry from Appledore Quay just a short walk away and sail across the estuary to the sandy stretch of beach at Instow (5.5 miles), which offers magnificent dunes to explore and a wonderful local deli. Venture further along the coastline to explore the cliffside village of Clovelly 14 miles away, offering breathtaking coastal views and a unique cobbled street winding down to the peaceful quayside. The surfing haven of Westward Ho! can be reached within 3 miles.
Flooded with plenty of natural sunlight and featuring exposed stonework reminiscent of times past, the spacious kitchen/diner will capture your imagination, inspiring you to get creative with some of the fabulous local produce. A few steps up lead into the cosy lounge, which boasts a soothing neutral colour palette and roaring wood burner, setting the scene for pure relaxation at the end of a busy day. Upstairs, the en-suite king-size and king size bedrooms are bursting with charm and feature ornamental iron fireplaces, whilst the twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request at time of booking) offers views across the garden. Sleek and stylish, the contemporary family bathroom provides everything you need to feel refreshed from sunrise to sunset.
Outside, enjoy the distant sounds of the bustling harbour as you enjoy a glass of something chilled in the sunny rear courtyard. The courtyard features slate steps leading up to an enclosed lawn, the perfect space for children to let off some steam before bedtime. There is also rear pedestrian access to the garden, ideal for bikes.
