Villa Castiglione, is located 640 meters above sea level in an area with clean and sunny air and offers exclusively for guests the palace designed by architect G.B. Pennavaria in the 18th century, a large swimming pool (13x7), reserved exclusively for guests who book, large outdoor spaces, courtyards, park.
The Villa has some important amenities which are: its spacious main floor of the palace finished in 1863, we find 4 large courtyards of ancient stone, one of which has a large vase, the lawn around the pool and the park of 3 hectares where there is the magnificent monumental tree Pinus Pinea of 30 m, where you can enjoy full relaxation, and total privacy for you, your family, your friends, whole days.
The villa is located outside the city, where you will find peace, clean air, friendly birds and animals, when you wake up.
In the grounds you will find a beautiful white horse, two peacocks, three chickens and two ducks.
We have a beautiful dog and an amazing tortoise.

Furnished in a refined mid-19th century style, and with a delicate taste deserving of such a house, and embellished with pitch stone floors and double bedrooms with the original "majolica" ceramics from Caltagirone, the house consists of a kitchen with a modern and safe induction stove, perfect for children.
The kitchen echoes the old style of Sicilian kitchens with stone oven, stone sink with copper faucets, all complete with stove, refrigerator and appliances such as microwave, kettle, toaster, Italian coffee maker and American coffee maker, blender, washing machine and dishwasher.
Inside the house and out by the pool, there is Wi-Fi.
You can also work during your vacation in smart working.
We continue with the entrance hall where we will welcome you upon arrival with a "welcome buffet" with a tasting of typical local products, ranging from sweet to savory.
A large dining room with seating for 6, equipped with satellite TV with many international channels and a dvd player, leads us to the bordeau room, where important meetings were held in those days.
From the living room you can reach the terrace that overlooks the Big Pine Park, set of important films in the past such as Commissioner Montalbano.

As mentioned, the house is surrounded by 60 hectares of land, with views of the great valley and the volcano Etna in the distance, the classic stone walls or "dry wall," typical of the Ragusa countryside that divided one fief from another.
We have four large courtyards, a church where the usual Sunday mass was held until the mid-1960s, and a 3-hectare park with a centuries-old pine tree surrounded by plants and fruit trees, such as almonds and walnuts.
In the area near the pool, there are two bathrooms with showers, then right in the garden equipped with a 13x7m pool, with comfortable sunbeds to lie and sunbathe comfortably, where you can, lunch or dinner and games to entertain children, with inflatable games, mattresses and sports accessories.
Equipped with free parking, the Villa is 7 km from Ragusa (5 minutes by car), 14 km from Comiso airport, and 300 meters from an agritourism that offers typical dishes such as ricotta, sausage, provola di Ragusa, focaccia, local wine and many other delicacies.
The IperCoop and Decatlhon shopping center all for sports, with supermarket, Atm, tobacconist, clothing, and souvenirs, is of great importance 7 minutes from the Villa.
The Villa is centrally located in the province, continuing the tour, among the most important Unesco heritage baroque cities. The Villa is 10 minutes from Ragusa Ibla, the "Vigata" of Commissioner Montalbano, 20 minutes by car from Modica and Scicli and the nearest beaches, 20 minutes from the sea Marina di Ragusa and Punta Secca, the "Marinella" of Commissioner Montalbano, Randello and Foce dell' Irminio Protected Maritime Reserves, 8 km from the famous Donnafugata Castle.
Noto and Siracusa are 45 minutes by car, 1 1/2 hours from Agrigento.
Catania airport is less than 100 km away.

In the park behind the Villa we have a fantastic viewpoint from which you can see half of Sicily, a breathtaking panorama, you can see many cities from the southwestern coast of Sicily to the volcano Etna.
From Comiso to Caltagirone, Chiaramonte and other towns.
Nearby stood a large settlement of indigenous Siculians, primitive peoples connected with the art of pottery, nature and its sun gods.
In 1999 an important sculpture, later called the Castiglione Warrior, was found depicting a warrior prince with a bull on the right and a sphinx on the left. It was also taken to the Pergamon Museum in Berlin during an exhibition done for a year; today it is in the city's Archaeological Museum.
Speaking of the fiction Il Commissario Montalbano, two entire episodes were filmed inside the Villa: in 1999 "The Cat and the Goldfinch" and "A Diary of 43' in 2018 ".
The Villa is ideal for families with children, families with relatives, young couples and friends, who want to spend their vacations together in the part of Sicily with a deeper history, quiet and rich environment of the island.
The bedrooms are located on the opposite side of the living area, as they once were. They are 19th-century style, with the famous Caltagirone ceramics, large and comfortable and interconnected.
On request, where possible, the rooms can be divided, and the beds put in place of the living room, where there is a fireplace.
