Disappointed

VACASA communication prior to the stay was overwhelming.The kitchen was not stocked sufficiently. There was a very small pot (2 cup size), but no larger pot to cook pasta, soup, etc. There was one rusty/black cookie sheet. There was no can opener. No hand soap in kitchen. While VACASA ultimately brought us a larger pot, it took communicating with them multiple times to get it delivered. There is an unpleasant smell in this unit. It was better with balcony door open but still noticeable, even with a candle lit.Towels are very old and not soft.Water pressure in main shower is weak. Location is great! View, walk to the beach, and central location were all positives. It was nice to have a washer and dryer.While we appreciated VACASAs consideration of a partial refund, we did not enjoy this unit and would not stay here or at any VACASA property in the future.

Beautiful but hot

Beautiful place, beautiful beach! Every is literally walking distance! Only thing is the unit doesn’t go below 78 degrees or at least it didn’t for my family’s stay. It is manageable with a fan though.

Great location to beach, walking distance. Clean space.

Nice, clean, walking distance to restaurants and shopping in the area. Lots of construction here and other buildings in this area, but still can get in and out with no problem. Would stay here again!

Loved the property overall and I loved the layout of the condo. Property is literally on the beach. Property owners need to correct some minor details. My shower curtain was dirty. They really should replace between guess because they are inexpensive. The curtains in the bedrooms were barely hanging and there were no curtains in the living room. I prefer to draw my curtains at night. Otherwise, the condo was clean and communication with checking in and out was a breeze.

The property needs an update overall. The sliding glass door is very difficult to move, have to raise it with both hands then push forward. The master shower head, hand held is not working The HVAC was frozen and it was not working. Have to keep the HVAC at 70 or it will quit working The King size bed has been used alot because there are sinking spots where people have laid

Owners reniged on our contract

We booked in Oct for a Dec 30th thru March 15th stay and owners canceled our booking mid Nov do we had to scramble to try and get another place to snowbird in. Very unpleasant and unprofessional to list your property and take the money and then cancel when most places are no longer available for those dates. Just don't list your place.

Alot of construction. We were told minimal construction. There was hammering and power saws in the condo next to ours. And they had to shut down the guest bathroom because of leaks downstairs. We left a day early. And the thermostat was locked, so the condo stayed at a chilly 68°.

Booking online was super easy. Had no problems with anything. Condo was nice. One of the beds was broken but we had taken an air mattress...thank goodness. But it also had a note on it saying that is was on order to be fixed. The beach is close also which is nice. There's plenty of places to eat and shop close

This whole property is under construction. It was not safe for our children and it was extremely loud all day so our baby was unable to nap. I’m sure this place will be lovely when renovations are complete but, we were unaware of the extent of the renovations until we arrived.

HORRIBLE STAY

We were told upon renting this condo that there was “exterior” refacing of the condo which we were okay with. They also let us know right before arriving that the balconies would still be closed off until 10/31 since the “exterior” condo renovations were not complete. We agreed to that, no problem. What we were NOT told was that they would be working directly on our enclosed balcony. We awoke the first morning to find 3 workers on the enclosed balcony working along a very strong odor of paint and turpentine!! This, to us, was an invasion of our privacy. The Living Room only has sheer curtains so thankfully I was dressed when I entered the living room!! I called Vacasa to complain, only to be told this was out of Vacasa’s hands so there was nothing they could do about it. Sadly, we were basically stuck for 4 days with NO privacy and horrible headaches due to the strong odors of paint and turpentine. We had already paid for this condo so could not afford to find anywhere else to stay. It was pitiful to know we had to wake up every morning with the odor of paint and turpentine by 7:30 - 8:00am with workers on our balcony. Definitely no sleeping in on this vacation🥺 and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND anyone else to rent this condo. It really deters us from ever wanting to come back to Destin. So sad🥺🥺

Great location but…

I’ll start with the good stuff. The condo and location is wonderful. Very spacious. My favorite part of the morning was watching the sunrise from the bed in the master. The property is definitely closer to the beach than it appears and there are a number of places to eat and shop within walking distance. I walked to The Local Markey each morning for coffee. Their food was great too! When we checked in we discovered our room had not been cleaned. No clean towel, sheets, etc. Vacassa was finally able to find someone to come and clean the room but it was during dinner time. The cleaners were very respectful but it was annoying after a very long day of travel. They also couldn’t provide us with blankets so we spent the trip sleeping with only sheets and beach towels when needed. Vacassa did offer some reimbursement for the inconvenience. Which was appreciated. The property has a chair and umbrella service the comes with the property which is nice except they pack you in on the beach like sardines. Seriously the umbrella was touching the umbrellas of the people on each side of us. And you can’t bring your own. I’ve never encountered this at a rental but I guess it’s common in Destin? We sat down in the water all day so we could have some space and enjoyed every minute of of the beautiful water and white sand beach. I don’t know if the chair/umbrella rental company is directly associated with the condo, but Mandy is the rudest person I have ever encountered that works in a customer service type of position. I would recommend someone speak to her about making assumptions about someone’s ethnic background or disability status before making assumptions. And also how to speak to people in general. Finally, I was annoyed about the property description because at very, very end of the property they mentioned the constitution that was going on. Thankfully, we were not impacted at all but it would nice to start out with that in the description. We enjoyed our stay despite the small inconveniences. I don’t think that is the norm. But be aware of the construction and when the property is undergoing renovations and be prepared for being packed in on the beach.
