WORST STAY I HAVE EXPERIENCED!

1. As far as location. I get it, downtown Chicago… you probably can’t expect the most civilized people 100% of the time. But for people who are new to the area or have never experienced that area before there should be notes or documentation that support the crime and immense amount of homeless and tweaked that are around the area and all around the hotel parking lot/Parking garage and at times even INSIDE the hotel lobby itself! 2. There was weed smoke and smell at ALL times in the hotel parking garage, in the hotel elevator, in the “Indoor” pool area, in the hotel lobby, and the hotel hallways! It was terrible! The whole place was like a smoke house! 3. They do not tell you it’s a bestwestern hotel until AFTER you have booked… and the pictures are very deceptive. The only thing in the hotel that looks good is the lobby that’s it! The floors are dirty, walls are dirty, rooms are filthy. There is no fridge, no microwave, nothing at all and it just is NOT what is expressed in the description and pictures at all! 4. There were loud parties going on in multiple rooms and when we complained to the front desk. The man himself was too scared to tell the people to be quiet or to kick them out so he just moved our floor we were on to a different one. (That didn’t help at all!) 5. Overall if I could rate this as a 0 star I would! It was a complete nightmare!

Centrally located

We arrive by train and walk during our stay. Everything we need during our visit is close. Ub er's are convenient enough if we have a distance to go for a show or event

Decent place

Overall decent place to stay. Third floor smelled like pee but we were on the second floor. Roof deck is nice. Have to walk a couple blocks to the L.

It’s a Best Western

Enjoyable stay but it’s a hotel. Usually I go to Vrbo for apartment/houses so it was a bit odd booking it for a hotel. But the stay was nice. The place is clean. The staff very friendly. I also enjoyed the pool, small gym area, and outside deck.

False advertising

Booked a VRBO but was actually a tiny hotel room. Picture of the “room” in the listing was much nicer than the one we got. Everything was dirty on the property. Air conditioners all dripped nasty water on you as you opened the door to the hotel. All the cleaning and maintenance staff use the elevators all day blocking the doors so we had to carry our luggage up and down stairs. Seemed to be an overpriced scam!

Well kept, comfortable hotel room. Didn’t take advantage of offered amenities because we were busy exploring the North River area. On site parking a big plus for us.

Won't stay here again

I wasn't impressed with this property. The rooms were very small, bed and pillows where hard. Halls are like a maze when you first go to find your room. Controller didn't work, we did get a new one at the desk. Housekeeping walked in our room before 9am well we were sleeping. Check out was 11am. Location was ideal for our trip but did not feel the value was there.

Check with Best Western for Amenities

The listed amenities were all NOT AVAILABLE! The pool, which is indoor upstairs was closed, the gym.. which is three exercise machines..was closed And the upper deck… which is not shaded and has no refreshments was closed The rooms are small, brown and dark.. and lack fridges or kitchens as other VRBO’s have.. All in all … be careful booking this and make sure you know what you are not getting

River north chicago

Location - nearby restaurants and close to navy pier and riverwalk were good. The terrace, pool and gym were closed all 3 days we were there but has told they would be open later that day or next but that didn’t happen until the day we checked out (day 4) and one of the elevators did not work the entire time we were there. When we mentioned this to the host on the 2nd they told us to contact the property manager and were washing their hands of any responsibility. We contacted them on the 3rd day with the same response and on the 4th day when we asked for a partial refund they they reached out to the property manage and told us at 10:34 AM they would comp us a breakfast but “we were in a hurry and checked out” - check out time was 11:00 - guess should have just sat ideally around hoping for something to happen.

Affordable location but Tired....

I chose this property as one that was affordable in a city filled with conventions and hotel rates above $500 per night. The property was clean but extremely tired and noisy. Bed was comfortable, but the room was very small. Ok as it was just me and I was only there to sleep - was out in the city otherwise. Very nice McDonald's across the street for great coffee and a nice morning sit in a park like area. Target also very close for any last minute needs, as well as a Walgreens. A well stocked market was just two blocks down as well. Staff was nice and attentive. If you want affordable, this is your place. If you are looking for some higher end amenities, this is not your hotel.
