The Space:
Our newly remodeled home is located in the heart of Pilsen, Chicago. It’s cozy but mighty! Its mainly open and airy layout can accommodate up to 4 people. Hosting an event, photoshoot, or small gathering during your stay? Let us know so we can inform you of our special pricing!

The home is furnished with two queen-size beds and a full-size sofa. (We'll let you draw straws to decide who is sleeping where—ha!) The optimal amount of guests would be 1-5 people. Inside the kitchen, you'll find all the silverware, pots, pans, and plates you need to pretend like you’re going to cook yourself dinner from scratch!

The living room is furnished with a nice flat-screen tv where you'll be able to Netflix and chill with friends.

In terms of amenities, we've got you covered too! You'll have access to small, yet important, things like: An iron, blow dryer, towels, soap, paper towels, oxygen, and more.

As I mentioned earlier, our home is so perfect, you'll want to stay forever. We've had guests ask. Just kidding. (But seriously.)

Great value and location

The property was clean and spacious. The neighborhood was not noisy and you can only hear the upstairs neighbors when they go up and down the stairs. Not bothersome to me or the kids. We were just a few minutes from Shedd Aquaium and other activities. Great value!

Convenient parking, safe neighborhood and easy check in.

Although the check in process and convenient parking were a pro, there are some minor concerns. The noise level from the upstairs tenants is very loud during the day. The other minor concern is the shower, it is a bit challenging and slightly uncomfortable. Other than that the unit was great I would recommend for those that are actively driving while staying in the city.

Good space

The space was good for what it is. The main issue I have is that the host doesn’t give you much privacy. You cannot have guests over without telling them your every move. And if you do have family or a friend over they give you a curfew. If they stay past the very early curfew they charge you. The rug in the living room was filthy, parking is street parking and there were issues with the door code. Don’t plan on cooking while you’re there because there are no utensils pots or pans.

I will not

This was my first and last time staying at this property. I check in to discover the sheets in both beds were dirty with visible stains and long hairs on them. When I contacted the host I was greet with so type of AI robotic response where I was repeatedly asking the same question over and again. When I reached out to Vrbo customer service I was first directed to try contacting the host via the provided number which I did and never received an answer by calling and leaving them several voicemail yet the Vrbo agents continued to state that they were in a direct conversation with the host. It wasn’t until the next day was I was contacting by a supervisor of Vrbo where things were resolved and I received clean sheets after 2pm from the host. It was extremely concerning and frustrating

Convenient and Cozy

The title pretty much says it all, this location was centrally located and was very accessible, and it was really home adjacent. If I know anyone going to Chicago or if I ever come back I’d DEFINITELY recommend this stay!

Beautiful place

Really enjoyed my stay…a great and quiet neighborhood with a lot of things to do within walking distance. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a weekend in Chicago.

Couldn't get in twice!

When we first arrived, the neighborhood was very sketchy and there was a homeless man by our car with a cart. He seemed harmless enough, but then started digging through the dumpster and looking in car windows. The permit parking was full, so we had to park in the alley. We left the house to go to our car, we realized we left the car keys in the house. Upon trying to go back in the house, the lock would not unlock. I was given new codes to use, and those did not work either. We tried calling the host, but no answer. I had to get VRBO involved to get them to call me. Soon after, a property manager came out and finally got us in. We grabbed our keys and headed off to a concert we were late for at that point. He stayed to "work on the door". When we returned at the end of the concert, again we could not get in. Upon trying to reach the property manager, again no answer on the phone. Then a few rats went running down the street right passed me and my husband. We said, that's it...and went home. We requested a full refund as we were not even able to access the property we paid so much for. It took nearly a week, but we did end up receiving a full refund. I honestly wouldn't recommend based on our experience. Maybe you will get lucky? I wouldn't count on it though as we have since read other reviews that have had similar issues. Oh, and when we entered, we checked the bed for cleanliness, no bed bug activity found, but the sheets had large yellowish stains on them.

Great stay

The apartment was perfect for a group of us... Host made sure we were well accommodated. Itd bery chic. The decor was exactly as listing, rooms were a lil closer then i would have preferred but overall we had a great stay. Definitely would book again.

Excellent Stay

Place was perfect for our needs: nice place for a small group within walking distance of Thalia Hall. Host was incredibly friendly and quick to respond. Absolutely satisfied with our stay.

The property was okay but overall felt very grimy. Nothing felt truly clean which was unpleasant. The floor was gross, furniture had scratches and damage, and dishes in the cupboards were dirty. A lot of people come through spaces like these so it makes sense there be some wear and tear however it feels like the wear and tear is not properly addressed. Honestly I would have been totally okay with the property if it were clean. It is important to note that this vrbo is in a multi floor complex, so you can expect to hear the upstairs neighbors. The check in process was a hassle. This was my first time having to provide my address, license, and other information to a reservation outside of the Vrbo website. I did not like this and it doesn’t feel secure. Apparently this is normal for Vrbo. This specific property does not allow any other person to step foot in the building unless they are on the reservation. This wasn’t a problem- it was just an inconvenience. The location of the vrbo isn’t awful. There’s a Costco near by which is nice. All in all- I probably wouldn’t recommend this property.

Worst stay ever

This was my first and last time ever using the VRBO app. The glasses were platin and scratched all over , the blinds didn’t work , the rooms were far smaller than advertised. And the worst check in experience I’ve ever had !! They left me outside for 45 min while gong back and forth with me via email and text. I will stick to the other more popular site from now on

Perfect Stay in Pilsen

The property was perfect for what we needed and we enjoyed the stay. The home is cozy yet spacious, with high ceilings. The two queen-size beds and full-size sofa comfortably accommodated our group. One downside is that while the parking was free, there wasn't a lot available, and we did have to park quite further down the street the second night, but the first night was okay. We were so excited about the neighborhood—there was actually a Mexican street fair taking place during our visit that we had to check out. The locals were super friendly, the live music was awesome, and the food and drinks were amazing. We found a little coffee shop around the corner too, super cute! We briefly spoke with the host and they were great! Very responsive and accommodating, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this property is a fantastic find in Pilsen. It’s perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in a vibrant neighborhood. We had a fantastic time and would love to return!

We really enjoys the ability to walk to the local Tamales and Tacos festival. The property is very nice and charming. We definitely would stay again.

Comfy and Cozy

We loved the house, it was accommodating in so many ways and the neighborhood was amazing, we were sad to leave, the only little down side was the floors were not clean, we had to mop it before we had our baby on the floor. The carpet was not vacuumed too. Other than that it was beyond what we expected. We will booking more stays at this house.

Summertime Treat

We went to visit our son while he was in Chicago for his internship. Great location, the neighborhood was excellent and the neighbors were very friendly. The fans and air conditioning helped a lot. Beds were very comfortable. I thought the kitchen could have been a little better equipped. I brought this up with the owner and am sure it will be addressed. Communication with the owner was prompt and courteous. Overall the place was comfortable, nicely maintained and in a great location and neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again!

No AC, Owner Lacks Customer Service

I rented this property for a business trip. Upon arrival lock code didn’t work. Owner provided least 6 codes none of them worked. Blinds missing blades, trash on alley deck just outside of back door. Most importantly, the AC was broken. Temperature was 78 and owner responded that there was a portable ac we could use which was sitting in the living room. Obviously not strong enough to cool a 2 bedroom house. Had to move to a hotel. Owner would not acknowledge the issue and refused to give a refund. They actually stopped communicating with me. DO NOT USE RHIS PROPERTY OR ANY OTHER PROVIDED BY AW LUXE! SCAM .

Conference stay

The location itself was hard to identify simply because I was not able to open up the directions before. However I would say that if I was there with my family I would have called and immediately canceled the booking and left. The location is not safe for individual women nor small children and families. I had to park on the Main Street in front of a church that is undergoing renovation and it has homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk. Both days I parked there there were homeless people right at my vehicle. I did not know what the state of my vehicle would be when I returned the next morning. The noise from the apartment upstairs is quite noticeable. And the water faucet for the shower was almost impossible to get to a medium temperature you either can have hot or cold. The place itself was nice and clean however I do believe that the listing is not quite as it appears in person. And I believe that the safety of this area definitely is misleading as it is stated in the listing. Not that I would have walked down the street by myself from there to go find things to eat or places to purchase food however there were no options. This rental is not located next to anything walkable within reason. It is fine if you have a car but not if you plan to travel by foot.

Proceed with Caution

Place was clean with very basic amenities. Please be advised that you will be parking in a questionable alleyway with lots of trash and broken glass. No ice in freezer or trays available to make ice. Exterior door in back bedroom leading to covered porch/alley needs to be sealed properly as I woke up to the scent of vehicle exhaust from the garbage truck at 6 AM that was wafting in through the door from the alleyway. The water in the shower DOES NOT work, and if you can get it to work for a split second it is either burning hot or freezing cold. Also, neighbors do not seem to be aware that this is a short-term rental, and a neighbor pounded on our door for 15 solid minutes demanding to know where a missing package was even after we informed him we did not live there. The host messaged later to let us know who it was, but it was unnerving to say the least. Also, whoever is upstairs does not stop moving or making noise EVER. There was constant banging and footsteps from the time we arrived until when we left, including overnight. Next time I'm in Chicago I will just get a hotel room. I never leave bad reviews, but this place was NOT worth the money they charged.
