Located directly on the oceanfront, your ground-floor studio condo provides a full kitchen with everything you need to whip up home-cooked meals. Admire breathtaking ocean views from your scenic lanai. Extras include beach towels, a TV with cable, and free WiFi. The grounds also feature a poolside grill and coin-operated laundry. The summer breeze keeps the vacation rental cool. Like most homes in the area, there is no air-conditioning.

Little beach paradise
Beach just steps away out the back door. Centrally located to see both North and South sides of the island. Perfect place to stay to get to know Kauai!

Perfect beach-front stay on Kapaa coast
This was the perfect place to stay in Kauai. It is right along the coast with an unobstructed view of the waves crashing onto the Kapaa shore. It was so soothing to fall asleep to them. The sidewalk in front of the property is part of a paved, 8-mile Kapaa bike path. We used it to run during our trip. The home is conveniently stocked with kitchenware and spices. We cooked a number of meals and also made use of their blender to make fruit smoothies. The wifi was fast and we had no issues with it. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth. Vacasa even left us a welcome treat :) We wouldn't hesitate to travel with Vacasa again. Thank you!

Great ocean view apartment
This spot was a wonderful landing place after our flight. We stayed at 3 locations during our 8 day visit on Kauai and this was the first. It was close to the airport and easy to find. The view and location was outstanding. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean and the sound of waves was exactly what we were hoping for. The beach below the apartment was gorgeous and private and was really easy to get to. There is a short path of stairs that are not steep. Most days when we went out to the beach there were only a few people there. When we were there the surf was strong and there is no lifeguard so it is advised only to swim with caution. However there is a shallow lagoon that kids and adults can wade in and the small swimming pool was clean and also not crowded when we went. The room is a bit small and if you’re staying for more than a few days it can get cramped but if you’re just using this spot for a landing place after adventuring all day that probably wouldn’t be an issue. The bed was comfortable and the fully equipped kitchen was a huge plus for us. Some of the reviews mentions rodent problem, we did not encounter any animal pests during our stay, but there was a charming chicken family who roamed around the property. Overall I give this place an 8/10 definitely would recommend but if you are planning an extended stay I would say split the days between this spot and another larger cottage or house.

Decent unit at an amazing location
Pros - The unit was located at an amazing location. The views in the morning from the patio were amazing! Lots of restaurants/stores located nearby which was great. It was decently stocked with necessary essentials. Eg. Beach chairs, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, bathroom essentials, lots of towels, beach towels. There were some welcome snacks provided which was a nice gesture. Checking in was super convenient due to detailed instructions. Parking was available in ample inside the community. For us, we requested a late checkout because we had a really late flight. We contacted the management and they were able to get it confirmed in less than 5 mins for a small fee. For us, that was super helpful. Cons - The unit had a rodent issue. We were unaware and left a few food items (bread in its packaging, bananas, cookies in their packaging) on the counter which were eaten into. Few of our bags containing food were chewed into too. I understand the tropical climate could result in the presence of bugs, but I was not expecting rodents. Would have been good if they could have at least let us know so we would have been more careful with the food. Some essentials like coffee, sugar, common salt were missing from the pantry. The apartment was clean and well kept, but definitely was old and dated.

Spectacular locatiom
This was a perfect location. 20 feet from the beach on the ground floor. The unit was very small without a bedroom, but it was perfect for my wife and me. We went to sleep each night to the sound of the ocean. Pure paradise!

Nice with caveats
The apartment at Kapa'a Sands was a nice little place with good amenities and beach gear. The back door leads out into a small lawn with a path down to the beach, which was never crowded. The pictures look like the beach is right out the back door, but there is a small protected area on a slope that separates the lawn from the beach. Pros: + The host left us a care package, which was very thoughtful. + Very close to the beach, with a nice ocean breeze to help keep things cool using the provided fans. + Easy access to laundry services, coffee shops, and restaurants. + Parking space provided. Cons: - There was a rodent issue. We weren't able to leave packaged food out on the counter. While we never saw the rodent, it had gotten into our food and left droppings on the counter. - The parking spaces are narrow, which can produce anxiety if you are renting a car with your own insurance. - As with most of Kau'ai, there are tons of wild chickens and having the windows open for the breeze means that you will likely be awakened by a rooster right next to the apartment early in the morning (earplugs may be helpful)

Loved it!
Loved, loved, loved the view and listening to the ocean waves all day. Great communication with mgmt. Nice welcome package with a card. Great touch! Shops and restaurants within walking distance and Safeway is a short drive. There is also a super walmart between property and the airport. Great size for hubby and I but it would be tight if you add small child or above. I would stay here again.

Truly magical
On our first honeymoon after 20 years together. Paradise! Everything we needed was here, and nothing could beat the beauty, not to mention, privacy! We walked along the coastline, and yes there were resorts with more amenities, but that included more guests. We felt like we were in a romantic sanctuary. Cons: sticky floors, due to humidity I'm sure. 3.5/5 cleanliness, but the charm certainly outweighed the minor imperfections. Planning to return with our teens next year! **Don't feed the chickens!

Beautiful ocean view

Paradise Found!
We had a wonderful month at Kapaa Sands. We had stayed before in Unit 12 and were happy to return to it. The view from the porch is beautiful, and the rest of the property is lovely and well-kept too. Unit 12 met all of our needs....the kitchen was well equipped, the king-sized bed very comfortable, and all other amenities met our needs. Everyone who took care of the property was very friendly. Charlie, the manager was very friendly, full of smiles, and able to assist us when we needed help. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Great location and Relaxing
The location of the property is ideal for visiting all parts of Kauai. Quiet neighborhood and smaller complex. We loved watching and hearing the waves coming in. The unit has everything we needed although could use some cosmetic updates (carpet, lamps, furnishings). We would stay here again. Location, location, location
While the space is quite small, the location is unbeatable. Small community feel where most folks can be counted on to watch every sunrise and sunset from the best seat in the house. Beautiful beach directly in front of the unit is not a good swimming site but wonderful to walk and relax on. Will stay here as often as I can. Kapa`a Sands Resort
I have stayed at this resort a number of times, & was excellent. This time I was disappointed with unit 12. It needs much updating. The decor is drab & furniture looked like it came from garage sales. The bed was comfortable though. Coffee maker plate thoroughly rusted, garbage disposer extremely loud, microwave plate doesn`t fit & wobbles. The 2 coffee mugs are not microwave safe, as I learned, when reheating coffee & burnt my fingers when taking out the cup. I accidentally walked thru screen door & tried to notify maintenance but it was not a working #. So I notified maid service, when they came by, a couple days later. TV/Cable had no instructions & took me quite awhile to figure out. Information folder very sparse, inadequate, & not current. Take out the carpeting. A friend stayed in another single unit, & hers was much nicer. My vacation on Kauii was very nice. I would stay here again, but nor in unit 12. Wonderful Stay in Kauai
The location of this property is central to the island`s activities and convenient to the airport. We had one car and never had an issue with parking at the unit. I would note that this unit did not have AC, which we learned after booking and coming from NC made us nervous. We stayed here in Sept. and were pleasantly surprised that as long as we left the windows open and the fans running the unit was comfortable enough. The kitchen is well stocked and there are several grocery stores in close proximity to the unit. It was nice that the unit supplied a cooler and icepacks. I loved the view of the ocean from this unit! Your are right there on the ocean and have access to a small beach. If you walk down the beach there are several restaurants and bars that you can go to. We particularly loved the tuna burritos at the Sleeping Giant Grill. I would stay here again and would recommend to others that are looking for a quaint no frills ocean cottage. This is an older unit and is a little dated in appearance. Do keep clean in the kitchen since you will want to keep the windows open. The bed was comfortable (we like a medium/firm mattress). For my case I never spoke directly with property management aside from the online reservation and email correspondence on check-in and out procedures, which went smoothly for us.
