From the beginning of my communication with the owner for a place to stay for a week in San Francisco, Sharon was exceptionally pleasant, accessible, and helpful. Our group was a large one: five grandparents, four children, and five grandchildren, and while we have vacationed together twice before, this was the first time we were all to share one home. During the contract process, she reassured me that, in the event of a catastrophe preventing our travel (from Tennessee, Georgia, and Chicago), she could probably rent the property to someone else, given that we were scheduled to be there during a busy holiday week. Fortunately, that did not happen. From the moment we walked into the roomy, immaculate, beautifully restored home, we knew that we had found the ideal space. The children we so enchanted with the third floor playroom/sleep area, with ping pong table, toys (including leggos), games, a TV, and DVDs, that we sometimes had difficulty persuading them that there was a world of fun and interest awaiting them in the city. All the adults had lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and we spent early morning and evening hours in the spacious living/dining/kitchen area looking out at the spectacular garden patio. Moreover, the kitchen was well equipped, and Sharon provided many of the necessary staples/condiments in the kitchen in addition to bathroom and laundry supplies. Evening baths were a treat for the grandchildren in the jacuzzi. We decided not to rent cars during the time we were there and made good use of the buses, subways, and occasional taxis, and we were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Sharon even recommended an excellent sitter for an adults only dinner out. What did we enjoy most about our stay? Everything! We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lovely retreat in a quiet neighborhood before and after experiencing the wonders of San Francisco, and we hope to return.
