The house is set in the historical part of Monterosso 50 metres from the beach.The flat is ideally located on the second and third floor of a building that was part of the town walls of Monterosso.The house faces the principal square ofMonterosso 400 metres from the station and it is convincentesi for shops and restaurants.The bath and the kitchen have been recently renovated. The apartment has msn traditional features included the hand painted tiles and marble floors. The bedroom has a balcony and the lining room has a terrace both with a beautiful sea view On the terrace you can sit and enjoy the panorama.On the walls there are ancient prints showing the maps of the Republic of Genova.Notice that the stairs are steep as it is used in this area and in sommer can be loud because of the central location

Great apartment in Monterosso

Fabulous location and very comfortable close to restaurants bars and shops doors and wondows double glazed so train noise not bad our host luisa was fabulous and very helpful we enjoed our stay

Seaside view

The property is in a great location and is very comfortable. The host was very helpful and accommodating. There are steep stairs that may be an issue for some but I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful!

You can't beat this location in the Cinque Terre! Right in the heart of Monterosso with a view of the water. Luisa communicates very well. We needed a couple of small items and she brought by the items and more for us. Overall, a great stay in Monterosso!

Great place, wonderful view and amazing host

Spent a three day weekend here and it was the perfect base for exploring Cinque Terre. Right in town so easy walk to restaurants and then I could bring a bottle of wine home with me and sit on the terrace with a view of the ocean and plaza. Luisa was super helpful with directions and recommendations and even allowed me to check out late at n my last day. The apartment is spacious and the bed is comfortable. This place was truly a great find.

A corner of paradise

I enjoyed immensely our visit to Cinque Terre. The appartment's location is very central, making it extremely easy to get to the beach, railway station, trails and pretty much everything. The bed was very comfortable, and after each full day I was able to go to sleep without minding the kids parting at the bar below.

Amazing view but daunting stairs

Beautiful place with a fabulous view. Stairs are daunting and lacks air conditioning. But overall we really enjoyed our stay. It is a great location and was fairly well equipped. Owner was easy to work with

The property is centrally located and it’s walkable from the train station. The host is amazing and so gracious. She made our stay very special. She recommended restaurants and much more. The apartment faces the sea and you can hear the waves. It’s beautiful.

Monterosso

A picturesque town with beautiful beaches and great restaurants. The VRBO was clean and roomy with a great view and just a few steps away from shops and places to eat, as well as the train station. If you are a light sleeper, know that the trains run right outside the property. Our host sent us a list of places to see, to shop and to eat. It was very helpful.

Cute little apartment

Great little apartment. Convenient to train and restaurants. There are a good amount of stairs to get to the apartment and inside the apartment is divided into 2 floors. Living and kitchen on top floor, bedroom and bathroom on bottom floor. Luisa was great to work with and showed up with supplies and treats upon arrival. The only thing I would warn future renters about is there is a church close by that tolls its bells several times a day and the train tracks are right outside so you constantly here trains passing by. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Heart of Monterosso

This property is all about location! If you want to be on the main Piazza in the old neighborhood it's a great place. Host is terrific. Views are phenomenal. It's a property that has been in the family for years. For people who crave quiet luxury, this is not the place. The train is close, kids and families are in the Piazza and playground. It's the music of life in the busiest part of town. We loved having all the restaurant, gelato and bar options right at our door. The train station is a 10 minute walk, the boats and ferries are 5 minutes. Beach is across the street. Nice kitchen with everything we needed. A lovely balcony for morning coffee. Large bathroom and bedroom.

Hard to find…

I would love to give a good review but the place was hard to find, noisy and when I left my shirt there, instead of contacting me, she threw my shirt away. For someone that works hard, this was hard to understand. When we checked in, we were not told how to use the washer, microwave or any important appliances but we were given a in depth history lesson on the property. Would not recommend staying here. If you do, bring ear plugs to sleep.

Great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this conveniently located property. You must be aware, however, that it is very close to the train tracks. If you want to leave the windows open when sleeping, you must be prepared to hear the trains. The owner was very accommodating and arranged for a greeter as well as someone to see us out when we left. There was a problem with lights not being capable of being switched off, but I am sure that by the time the next visitors arrive, the problem will be corrected. There are numerous restaurants very close by, but if you plan on eating in, you might want to ask the owner to provide a few small items, like some olive oil, salt and pepper, a few spices. etc. We hope to be able to return.

Very Noisy

The physical location is great, however with a train line running 50 metres from the property with trains ALL day and ALL night, it is not an enjoyable experience. Also there is an area where people congregate until to 2 am making loud noise every night. If this information was made clear to me I would not have booked this property. I slept with ear plugs to no avail and honestly only slept after 2.00 am until around 6. This is not the place for a light sleeper

The host, Luisa, is very proud of her property, and rightly so. It is well-appointed, with two bedrooms (one downstairs one upstairs), a kitchen, bathroom (with shower and washing machine), dining area and terraces. It is decorated with genuine historical maps and pictures, a legacy of the fact that the property has been in Luisa's family for generations. It is centrally located in Monterosso, next to a playground, near restaurants and shops and the sea, and a short walk from the train station. Luisa was very helpful, including recommending an excellent local restaurant (Ciak) that we returned to twice. And she very kindly met us on Easter Sunday and gave us Easter gifts, which was an unexpected delight! A wonderful property - the only downside is that it can be a little noisy with the train, church bells and playground outside. Nevertheless, highly recommended.

Magical place in Cinque Terre

Our stay was amazing and Luisa is a fabulous host! She was easy to reach and communicate with, and even met us at the property. She left gifts for us--prosecco and sweets--such a lovely and welcoming gesture. The view from the living/dining room is breathtaking, and sitting out on the balcony having our coffee and prosecco was heaven. The location is superb, right in the heart of Monterosso al Mare, steps from the water. Steps from restaurants, cafes, and shops. I highly recommend Tosca Bistrot to eat--the owner doubles as the server and her gnocci is to die for. The apartment is clean, nice, spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Our 6-year-old daughter loved it as well. I would definitely stay here again! We even had a rental car since we were touring all over the area--we parked in the public garage which is like 1 block from the house, it allows 24-hour parking. that garage is up a hill from the house, and, the stairs at the house are very steep, but Cinque Terre in general is mountainous and there are tons of steep steps everywhere. For me, it's great, I love getting my exercise, especially after all the pasta and wine I have in Italy! Highly recommend this beautiful house!!!

Perfect location

We wanted a place close to the train station and this apartment was a ten minute walk at most. The building was easy to find but you must check in at the entrance around the corner on the square. This wasn't immediately obvious to us but a local pointed us in the right direction. We were warmly welcomed by Luisa's mother. The apartment is exactly as you see in the photos. As mentioned it is on a busy square and close to train station but we enjoyed the neighborhood sounds and soon tuned out the sound of passing trains. I'd recommend you time your stay to be there on Thursday which is market day. We purchased the food for our lunches and dinners there. I highly recommend the fresh pasta. Everything in the apartment worked well. The kitchen was adequate for our simple meals of pasta and salad. We did not find the stairs to be an issue but some might. If you are there to hike the Cinque Terre I don't think you will have a problem! Loved our stay and feel like we have new friends in Italy!

Prachtige locatie voor een redelijke prijs

Omdat we met de auto kwamen, en veel Italianen vrij waren, was er geen plek meer om te parkeren. Met de auto kom je ook niet het dorp in. Boven bij het helicopterplatform hebben we uiteindelijk onze auto geparkeerd en ons met een taxi naar het appartement laten brengen. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door de hostess Luisa. Het appartement is voldoende ruim voor 2 personen en heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De inrichting is helemaal vintage ( uit oma's tijd) van bed tot tafel en stoelen. Het bed viel wat tegen Het is meer een trampoline ( veren matras) op metalen frame met een houten losstaande ombouw. Bij iedere beweging kraakte of piepte het. Het koffieapparaat ( nespresso) is berekend op Italiaanse kopjes. Wil je een Nederlandse hoeveelheid koffie dan moet je zo'n 7 keer het knopje indrukken. We hebben genoten van het terras met schitterend uitzicht. De tafel vonden we wat aan de grote kant voor het terras. De badkamer is erg ruim, met zelfs een wasmachine. De douchecabine daarentegen vonden we erg klein Zowel het appartement als het dorp Monterosso vonden we een ideale uitvalsbasis om Cinqueterre te verkennen. Monterosso is een redelijks gewoon dorpje met gezellige straatjes en een boulevard. Leuke kerkjes, en plekjes om naar toe te gaan. In de andere 4 stadjes zit je meer opgesloten. Je moet trouwens wel houden van de levendigheid van een stad(je) met het avondrumoer van terrassen en de trein die regelmatig passeert. Al met al toch zekereen aanrader voor deze prijs.

Beautiful balcony view and nice apartment

We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The unit is centrally located in a stunning area, very clean and nicely stocked. Luisa was easy to work with and accommodating. Nearby train station, grocery, restaurants and shops were so nice. So he aware that the 31 steps to the unit are steep and difficult to climb but that’s probably common in the area. Would highly recommend.
