Il Residence Cimone offre ai propri ospiti la possibilità di un fantastico soggiorno a Siracusa.

Il Residence Cimone si trova al secondo piano di una villa nel pieno centro storico della città, ma in riva al mare: dalle ampie terrazze è possibile ammirare un panorama mozzafiato, spaziando dalle grotte marine fino al porto grande e all'isola di Ortigia.

Dista a soli 15 minuti a piedi da Ortigia, centro di Siracusa.

Accesso diretto al mare attraverso una comoda scalinata pubblica, permette di raggiungere a piedi, o con il bus elettrico, tutti i punti di interesse culturale.

Per gli amanti della natura, a 500 metri dal Residence Cimone inizia una pista ciclabile che percorre il tracciato della vecchia ferrovia; un sentiero immerso nella flora mediterranea che, costeggiando il mare, porta fino alla tonnara di Santa Panagia.

L'appartamento è stato interamente ristrutturato nel 2014, ed è composto da un'accogliente e luminosa camera da letto con finestra vista mare, arredata con letto matrimoniale e dotata di aria condizionata, termosifone e TV digitale, bagno in camera con ampia doccia; vi è, inoltre, una cucina abitabile arredata con piano cottura, frigorifero e congelatore, dalla quale si accede alle ampie terrazze dotate di lettini prendisole. E' compreso il collegamento internet wi-fi. Non è fornito di ascensore.

Il Residence Cimone è un'oasi di serenità: di giorno sarà bello ammirare il paesaggio rilassandosi sullo splendido terrazzo, la sera la compagnia della luna e il piacevole brusio delle onde regaleranno un soggiorno indimenticabile.

Beautiful views and great host.

Overall 10/10, If you want to be on the island where everything is, it is a little walk (20 minutes) If you have a car no issues. The terrace is stunning and the unit is extremely well equipped. The hosts were very nice and easy going. Cannot beat the view.

Exactly as expected

We knew exactly what we had booked from the images and the description which were accurate.. The sea facing balcony was everything we had wanted. It was very hot but the air conditioning in the bedroom provided sanctuary.

I loved having the big terrace! Had nice meals and watched the sunrise on the water in front. I went swimming all the time (wear proper swim shoes) in the crystal waters and walked to town everyday (25 minutes). The only criticism is the drainage in the shower that needs improvement. Bit loved every minute of my stay.

Rooftop Heaven

I could not believe just how lucky I was when I walked into the little rooftop apartment. Beautifully bright, lovely size for just me (or a couple). Clean. A lovely size bathroom and bedroom… but the real win here are the two very large patios (we are on the roof of the building). Just a stone throw from the sea the balcony sits above the sound of waves and is greeted by the sunrise directly in front of you each morning. Absolutely stunning! And just a 15minutes walk to the main center. I would stay again! And again!

Amazing terrace!

Absolutely amazing Terrace overlooking the ocean! We spent hours reading and relaxing with the sound of the waves. Such a peaceful vacation. Also within walking distance to Ortigia.

Location, location, location!

Literally steps away from a beautiful waterfront, and within walking distance of all amenities (groceries, shops), you cannot ask for a better location for a wonderful holiday stay. Also a mere 10-minute drive to Ortigia, but also possible by foot (lovely 30-minute stroll). The apartment itself is well-equipped with two large terraces, one offer offering stunning oceanfront views.

2 fabulous terraces

We spent a very nice week in Francesco's apartment. We received a friendly welcome from him. There was always a parking space in the dead-end street. The furnishings and available space were sufficient for us. However, we chose the place for the terraces and the view was truly phenomenal on all sides. It was still very warm in October and the mosquitoes were active in the evening. If you want to sleep with open windows, it is best to bring a mosquito net, but there is also air conditioning. To visit the archaeological park and Ortigia we rented an electric bicycle from Greenbike. They brought the bicycle to our apartment and thanks to the bicycle we avoided traffic jams and parking problems in the center. Highly recommended.

Nice stay with exceptional terrace but bathroom can use an update

We stayed for 3 nights. Overday it was sunny, so we lived on the terrace and the sea is just some steps away.The appartment was practical but bathroom can use an update. Bed wobbled a bit.

Fantastic apartment !

Beautifully clean, modern apartment, with great terrace . The apartment is an easy 15 minute walk to the Island of Ortigia, and within walking distance of the major archeological ruins (about 1.5 kilometers). Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. Grazie Francesco ! David and Heidi

Fantastic!

We had a wonderfull time in this fantastic appartment. It was very clean and wel equiped. The terraces are amazing!! The appartment is on walking distance to the city. Francesco is a nice host. He is responding very quick and gave us a warm welcome. We would surely recommend this appartment.

Great Balcony

Hosts were very good when our flights were cancelled and changed due to Air Traffic Controllers computer crash. Francesco was still there to meet us upon late arrival because of flight delay. Outstanding feature of this property is the huge balcony overlooking the sea in a very quiet area. A ‘safe’ walk into ortiga which can be done in 15-20 minutes.

Incredibile Vista with helpful and responsive Hosts

The view is unmatched. Very easy to get to ruins and Ortigia by foot. Greeted by smiling and welcoming host who immediately offered to help me get luggage upstairs, and again as I was leaving. This was most appreciated as we all know to enjoy a view we ascend. … The view leaves one breathless and thankful for the assistance. I found the view much more incredible and panoramic than the fotos on the listing site. The sunrises are of the most photogenic I’ve experienced. Here you will find natural shade in the afternoons which is quite pleasant even on the hottest season. And there’s the back of the apartment with a huge terrace that stays cool in mornings. Francesco was very prompt and responsive with an issue I had with the shower. After researching and reading the reviews of many places in the area, I was not disappointed and I recommend this place… I’d definitely stay here again if in town.

The apartment was as seen on line. Two beautiful big terraces, one over looking the sea and bearable when it was very hot with the sea breeze. We went in the sea most days. Very rocky, but lovely once over them. We didn’t hire a car and walked everywhere. Tried the Syraka Sicilian Restaurant recommended on the board in kitchen. Excellent and returned again. Francesco and Laura were lovely and helpful. Wish we had stayed longer than a week.

The air conditioner is bedroom only. Living room and bathroom are so hot you cant brush your teeth without working up a sweat. Shower didnt drain and it was nasty. We compared staying here to camping. The beach close by is rocky and access to the water is dangerous. We tried the beach once but its a huge slip hazard. We wished we stayed in the old town island area.

Short Stay Option

The apartment is as it shows on the website - no frills but functional. The terrace would have been fabulous if the weather had been better, and this is a real 'selling point' of the apartment. The walk into Siracusa is 25 mins so very achievable. Taxis cost E20 each way. Parking is free and just outside the apartment. The owners were lovely and allowed an early check in. We had an issue which we told them about, which I am sure will have been resolved.

Great view period.

The only thing good about this rental is the view. It is badly in need of a renovation and cleaning. The shower doesn’t drain and you have to keep turning the water off so it doesn’t overflow. My husband, in his 70s, slipped in the shower because it is so slippery from not draining. Below the sink the cupboard is rotted and stinks because of the drain leakingso badly. We had to wash dishes, pots, cutlery before using anything as things were dirty. I checked the mattress for bed bugs and there were crumbs of food along the piping of the mattress. The furniture is old. There is a small kitchen and a bed. The only other seating is outdoors. We have been traveling in Italy for a few weeks, in 5 different places, this was the worst. We couldn’t wait to get out. The location is quite a way from Ortigia, about a 30 minute walk. I would not recommend this place.

Shabby apartment with great terrace and view

We had a great stay but must say that the apartment would benefit from a systematic maintenance and a thorough clean - particularly of the kitchen and its utensils. It would for example be great with more than two mugs - just to give an example! Basic maintenance would do a lot to the standard of the apartment - the bed side tables were loose (we tightened them with a screwdriver!), the toilet seat was not fixed properly (we fixed with tape!) and the shower drain was clogged! With a little effort the standard could be substantially increased.

Wonderful stay

We usually always stay in Ortigia when visiting Sicily, but were so lucky to find this perfect apartment just a 15-20 walk from the historic centre. 2 wonderful roof terraces, one overlooking the sea, and Ortigia, and the other the gorgeous old buildings... The bedroom is a good size, with air con. Large bathroom and a kitchen/dining area. Free parking right outside the door, which we never had a problem with getting a spot. There are now a lot of lovely bars & restaurants this side of Ortigia, and we would definitely stay here again. Ortigia is a 15-20 min walk, supermarkets nearby, and bus stops super close. Francesco was a great host, easy to contact, and was waiting for us when we arrived. No issues at all... Just sad to have to leave after 10 wonderful days.

Fabulous terrace

This apartment is on the second floor - the advantage being that you step directly onto 2 terraces - one of which faces directly across the ocean. The view is absolutely fabulous and more than enough reason to stay here. There is a rocky beach here where it is possible to swim but you really need some sort of footwear to protect your feet. The apartment was well equipped however there was no oven or microwave in the kitchen and the bathroom had no hooks for towels or bathrobes while we were there. We also had trouble with the shower water not draining away - when we mentioned it to Francesco, he explained that you need to pour cleaning agent down the drain regularly. The bed was very comfy and the air conditioning worked very well. It is only 15 mins walk (level) to Ortigia however the neighbourhood has a disappointingly dirty and neglected air about it. Strange when you see how clean and well kept Ortigia is. Ortigia itself is wonderful - great architecture, views and restaurants/bars. The nearby Greek and Roman amphitheatres were within walking distance and definitely worth visiting. There were local buses and we did use them but you don’t really need them. Be warned, the trains have a capacity limit - we couldn’t buy tickets for a morning train to Noto because it was full so best to buy in advance. And the bus timetable we got from the Tourist centre was out of date. Our host was very friendly and helpful and we would stay here again.
