Il Poggiarello is private and secluded house with a private pool and magnificent views of the vineyards. The house is located on the top of a hill and has a large terrace with BBQ where you will spend nice long lunches and dinners, will relax on the comfortable sofa surrounded by breathtaking views. The pool is just a few steps away and you can indulge on the sun beds or enjoy swimming and playing in the pool while enjoying the Tuscan paradise.

A lovely stay in a beautiful setting

Stunning views from a veranda and pool. The rooms, kitchen and interior is cozy and clean. Would recommend and absolutely return. Camilla was also a lovely and responsive host.

Beautiful Views

Beautiful sweeping hilltop views from this charming villa for sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed the full kitchen and option to cook in and enjoy the pergola and pool! If you stay here be sure to pin your location as it’s easy for GPS to get confused and the Villa is about 15 minutes from the town of Montalcino.

Stunning stay in paradise

Stunning stay in a gorgeous, peaceful, one-in-lifetime setting. The private pool and surrounding views were unmatched, and the cottage is perfectly appointed, well supplied, tastefully decorated, cozy, and relaxing. The property manager went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed, and her recommendations were top-notch. We will most certainly be back. You can’t miss a stay at this luxury property on your next visit to the Montalcino/Montepulciano area!

Perfect Family Landing Pad

We stayed here for 9 days with our family including three children, ages 6, 3, and 1.5, and it was perfect. We had just enough room to spread out and the kids adored the patio and pool. My husband and I took in the views after bedtime while enjoying a last glass of wine by the pool. The house had everything we needed and Camilla went above and beyond as our host. We saw so much of Tuscany, but the views from the house were some of the best. What a magical spot!!

True Tuscany

Very beautiful and quiet location. The surrounding landscape and views are stunning. Our group of four adults had plenty of room in house and outside patio. The pool with surrounding olive groove was so relaxing. Short drive to many Vineyards and Montalcino. Would very much recommend this anyone looking for a relaxing Tuscan visit.

Wonderful Gem in Montalcino

We had a wonderful week at Podere Poggiarello. Camilla was a loverly and very helpful host. The location of the villa was great, 20 min drive from the lovely town of Montalcino. The villa amenities were good, we expecially loved the terrace and the pool. What an amazing view! Thanks again for a fabulous experience.

We enjoyed our stay at the villa, unfortunately on arrival the villa had not been cleaned since previous occupancy. Camilla was very good and arranged for cleaning the next day.

We loved Il Poggiarello

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a very reasonable drive to Montalcino - about 20 minutes - with similar drives to great wineries large and small. We definitely took advantage of the food and wine the area offers, both at restaurants and with some fabulous local steaks grilled on the poolside BBQ. Whether you plan on spending the day lounging by the pool and enjoying the beautiful scenery or exploring the area, Il Poggiarello is a wonderful place to stay.

Lovely villa with stunning views

Il Poggiarello is in the most stunning setting with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. We had a great week here - loved the villa, terrace and the pool. We did not meet Camilla herself but her mother was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed exploring the towns and villages nearby - this part of Tuscany is so beautiful. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to return some day!

I did not want to leave. Cheerful, stylish color pallet & decor. Good internet. Postcard views. Peaceful. Relaxing. Lovely outside terrace & pool. The quibbles-no television, no coffee machine, no microwave. Sofa & coffee table are more shabby than chic. Stains. Need replacing.

One word: perfect

The house has everything a family needs. We enjoyed the rest and silence, the wonderful pool, the nature, and the beautiful city Montalcino. We had very easy communication with Camilla and could ask her everything and had response very quick. It was nice to meet her when she and her husband arrived for the weekend in their own house. We will come back, that's for sure!

Paradise Found

This home exceeded our expectations. Everything about it was perfect and was so comfortable. It was beautiful inside and the views of the cypress and olive trees and the many vineyards was breathtaking. We would come back after viewing fabulous medieval villages, shopping at farmer’s markets and having amazing lunches and jump in the pool. Romeo, the caretaker and Camilla, the owner were very responsive and met all our needs. We were saddened to leave after 2 weeks but will be back!

Romantic Country House with Beautiful Views

We had a lovely time at this secluded home at the top of a hill. Very scenic and peaceful. It was extremely restful staying at the house and we did a day trip to Sienna, about an hour drive. The nearby small town of Montalcino had some nice shops and restaurants and an interesting archeological museum, but did involve a 15-min drive on some very mountainous roads with many sharp turns. We did venture into town several times, including grocery store runs. Be sure to check the hours, as the grocery store is only open some afternoons.

Dream holiday in Montalcino

My wife and I and our kids stayed for 2 weeks at Il Poggiarello in Montalcino. The location of the house was on top of the hill creating an outrageous 360 degrees view of the valley. The house boasted airconditioned bedrooms, which is perfect during Summer time Tuscan temperatures, specially at night. The terraces (with BBQ) and swimming pool provided all we needed, to make our stay perfect. And last, but not least, the owner shared some great suggestions with us for sight seeing and restaurants. The latter making us feel very much at home with the people in region greeting us as tourists at the highest level of hospitality one can wish. My suggestion: go there and find iout yourself!

Lovely time in Tuscany!

The villa was a great location for us! It was close enough for us to explore other Tuscan towns with our car rental, but secluded enough for us to enjoy the countryside and VIEWS! Camilla was responsive to feedback and questions, and her book of recommendations was appreciated. We cooked at the villa with ease, however, sharp knives would be the only recommendation to add to the kitchen. The pool was lovely and refreshing. We enjoyed our time immensely. I would also like to strongly recommend Locandra Demetra Cooking School and restaurant in Montalcino! We enjoyed our cooking class so much, that we returned two days later for the chef's dinner tasting menu. One of the best meals I have ever had!

Great rustic farmhouse with amazing pool and views

This is an amazing property in the middle of Barolo wine country. About 15 minutes away from Montalcino along winding country roads, you are really away from it all. Set on the top of a hill, it has unparalleled views in 3 directions with amazing sunsets to enjoy from the deck while enjoying dinner. The pool is outstanding and a great refresh while under a hot Tuscan sun. I would consider the house itself rustic chic, styled in a farmhouse vibe, but was well apportioned and perhaps most importantly had fairly well functioning air conditioning. Working with Camilla was great and she was really helpful in addressing a couple of very minor issues. Overall it's a great place to get away from the crowds of the Italian summer. Plus, Montalcino is a charming town that has some great restaurants and was very chill during the week (we left on a Saturday and it seemed to be picking up a little). One minor note, as you're pretty far in the country, there were perhaps more bugs than our teenage daughters (city kids) would have preferred, but it wasn't too bad.

stunning views peaceful surroundings

The Villa sits up on a hill with stunning views. You can see the Banfi Estate across the way, hill top towns, vineyards and wheat fields all around you. The villa has a nice sized master one,bedroom with bathroom and great AC. The Bedroom/loft upstairs has AC also but still gets a little warm. If you close the shutters everywhere the villa stays cooler. the sofa is large enough to sleep one, even without pulling out bed. The downstairs bathroom has 2 steps to enter with a tub with handheld shower, no stand up shower. The outdoor living space is wonderful and is where we spent most of the time when we where there, a very nice breeze. The pool was a nice relief from the hot weather. (be aware there is no ladder to get out) Mrs. Camilla was very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. She has the house above the Villa as her summer home but wasn't there until the last day. The patio is still private from the above villa. She set up a wine tour and tasting for us that was such a lovely experience, family run and very personable (Il Palazzone). She has a book with info of the area and good recommendations. We loved the Villa. Just know that it is a 15 to 20 min ride to Montalcino (we don't mind the driving) and that you are in the country, so expect bugs and wildlife. No screens on the windows so AC was a must in the Summer. Thus the 4 star for cleanliness, some cobwebs inside. But linens, towels, bathrooms and kitchen are clean. I loved watching the birds every early evening swooping the pool for a quick drink, they were the entertainment during our cocktail hour. So Peaceful and relaxing. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

I saw the property and I simply fell in love with it amd I decided that it had to be my buen retiro. Only those who have lived it can understand its magic. Having travelled a lot in my life, I have seen many amazing places, but for me Il Poggiarello is the most amazing.

The position is unique. Il Poggiarello is on the top a hill and the view you can get from every angle is breathless. The house is cozy, warm, elegant but not pretentious, charming and modern at the same time. Most importantly, you will feel that you are in a real home, no other guests around you, just you, your family and friends..
