A really wonderful setting. We know the lake well, and it was a very nice surprise, to be in such a beautiful location. The views are lovely and there is plenty of shaded areas. It is very quiet and you are off the main road, which is important as many other lakeside places sit on the main road. The view from the lakeside and from the house are wonderful, and it is a joy to sit out in the evening.
The accommodation is exactly as you see in the pictures. Our two young daughters stayed upstairs, but do be aware, that this gets very hot.
The house has plenty of space, we were a family of 4, but it could easily accommodate more.
There is a table tennis table, which if you have children is great.
There are various bikes in the canteen/cellar, and I would recommend using the boat, the lake deserves it.
We were particularly lucky as the owner was unnecessarily generous in taking our 5 year old sailing. In particular teaching her to sail a boat on her own. Emily won't stop talking about this now.
I believe all reviews have to mention any bad points for contrast. If i have to say anything, then upon arrival we had to buy liquid soap dispensers for the bathrooms, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, and for the money I might even have expected a basket of things for your arrival. The owner did leave a bottle of wine, but a basket of bread/salami/cheese etc.. would have made the arrival excellent. Also at the time there wasn't a kettle or a tea pot (for the english of course), but I hope that these were just an oversight that has i'm sure now been rectified. For those that unfortunately need to keep an eye on work, then there is no wifi, but the owners did leave a usb dongle, which should work for laptops, but not for an ipad.
Overall, I must say that as a family we really had a lovely time and would without question recommend it. The owner and his family were also very welcoming and friendly towards us, and added to making our stay a memorable one.
