Convenient place to visit Tuscany

It is a comfortable ancient house made of three floors located in a Medieval hamlet just below a Medici Villa at about 6 km from the town Vinci where Leonardo was born
At the first floor there is a bedroom with a double bed (king size) and a sofa - bed in the study , a kitchen - dining room, a sitting room with a table made of crystal and marble and also a cot is available for babies.There is a bathroom with a toilet, a shower,a wash basin and a bidet. Outside there is a balcony and a little garden just at the foot of the villa Medici that was once destined for a hunting house of the Medici family. At the second floor there are 2 bedrooms one with a double bed (king size) and in the other one there are 2 twins, (120× 190) and one bathroom with a bath anteroom
It is an apartment quite cool in summer and very quiet at night as the cars are not allowed to enter the town center after 8 p.m. till 7,00 a.m during the summer. It is just located in the town center but you can enjoy the beautiful countryside around the town center where you can go walking /jogging and admire the wonderful vineyards and secular olive trees on the radiant hilly landscape typical of Tuscany . It is a STRATEGIC POINT from which you can reach the most important cities and places in Tuscany. At Empoli station ,at about 8 km , you can take the train to Florence,Pisa and Siena. There is a bus service from Cerreto but the buses are not very often (about every hour of the day) so THE CAR IS ADVISABLE as it is more convenient. You can also leave your car in Empoli and take the train to Florence to Pisa and Siena as the trains are very often There are 2 big free parking lots close to the house where you can park your car safely.

We live in just five kilometers from where the house is located. We like to welcome our guests personally and we do our best to help them!!

Cerreto Guidi is famous wine-making center among the hills of Tuscany.Cerreto Guidi was the estate of the Guidi counts who built their castle in this territory, near the Via Francigena. In the 12th century the village was sold to Florence by the Guidi family, but their name remains.
Cerreto Guidi, from a frontier zone not far from the Fucecchio Marsh, in this way became a place for hunting and relaxing for the Medici court.
A particular features of the inhabitants of Cerreto is their hospitality, which makes a stay in this town particularly enjoyable. On hills of vineyards and olive groves, made even more beautiful by historic villas and country houses, they make DOCG wines—so much so that Cerreto Guidi is enrolled in the Cities of Wine association.


There. are any shops you need. such as supermarket, restaurants where you can taste the delicious meals typical of Tuscan tradition ,take-away and pizzeria, clothes shops, tobacconist's, newsagent's, banks ,post office and church.

HOW TO GET THERE:
- By car: from highway A1 exit at Firenze Scandicci, then take the FI-PI-LI, exit at Empoli and follow the signs for Cerreto Guidi.
- By train: from the train station of Florence SMN, line for Empoli. From Empoli, bus for Cerreto Guidi ( but a car is warmly recommended as the bus are not very often especially in summer)
- By plane: Galileo Galilei airport in Pisa .From Pisa airport railway station or from railway station Pisa centrale take the train for Empoli. From Empoli take the bus for Cerreto Guidi


It is about a half an hour from Florence and 40-50 minutes from Pisa and Siena. There is a bus service to the railway station in Empoli where the trains to/from Florence, Pisa and Siena are very often and where you can easily reach the airport of Florence and Pisa. THE CAR IS ADVISABLE to discover Tuscany and its beautiful places.
The house is at 4 km From Vinci, very famous village where Leonardo da Vinci was born and the gorgeous museum dedicated to him.

If you want to visit Florence,it is advisable to reach the railway station in Empoli and take the train to Florence,Pisa and Siena as there is a convenient train service from Empoli that links Florence and the other towns till late at night.You can solve the problem of parking your car in Florence!!!
