Anderton Mill si trova in un'area di straordinaria bellezza naturale. Dormire quattro in due camere da letto, offre una sistemazione in famiglia superba, ma è anche l'ideale per le coppie che desiderano allontanarsi da tutto. Ristrutturato dai proprietari per un periodo di venti anni, è molto più che una casa, piuttosto che una semplice casa per le vacanze. Questo antico mulino ad acqua è stato convertito con stile e raffinatezza e comprende pavimenti in ardesia, un bruciatore a legna, sedili in rovere profondo e arredi contemporanei. I tre patii sono vere e proprie trappole solari; 'la terrazza sul fiume', è completa con sedie a sdraio, mentre il patio superiore ha un barbecue incorporato e mobili in teak. C'è molto da fare all'interno dei terreni di 7 acri, tra cui la pesca alla trota, l'immersione in acqua e la scalata della casa sull'albero, nonché eccellenti passeggiate locali nella valle. La casa è solo a breve distanza (o addirittura una passeggiata per il fit!) alla costa nord della Cornovaglia e alle sue varie spiagge. Spazio, pace e tranquillità sono le caratteristiche di questo esclusivo rifugio rurale.

Wonderful stay

We had a great stay, Pete and Kay were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was quaint, comfortable and set within an idilic garden with a river running through. Great location for exploring along the north coast. We couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks, we hope to stay again one day :)

Excellent location and beautiful cottage

We had a wonderful stay here. The garden and cottage is beautiful and the owners were very helpful and delightful to meet. They have thought of everything you might need and it is all there at the cottage.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings

Cottage is beautifully situated in a peaceful and secluded location. The cottage is clean and well maintained and well equipped. The grounds and surrounding area are spectacular and we were able to walk into Boscastle every day via the footpaths along the river.

Anderton mill

Anderton mill was a beautiful place to stay. Lots of beautiful woodland and plant to explore and see. Very quiet and peaceful. No mobile signal but its perfect if you want to escape the outside world for a bit. The cottage was very clean and tidy had everything we needed for our week away.

Fabulous country hide-away

The cottage was comfortable and cosy and equipped with everything needed. The location could not have been better, such a peaceful and relaxing garden. Great to see the history of the property in photos. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage

the cottage was so lovely with the beautiful garden close to the stream. The house is clean and comfortable. When it gets cooler you can heat it up in the oven. the bathroom is modern and the kitchen has everything you need. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Kay and Pete were very friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed our time with them

Another excellent stay!

This was our third stay at Anderton in 18 months which gives some idea on how much we like the property. Tucked away down a narrow track in beautiful grounds it is truly restful. All you need is there for a comfortable visit but it still feels like a 'proper' cottage away from it all. The area of course is lovely whatever the weather ( and ours was not great!). Special.

Lovely getaway cottage.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage which was nicely secluded and quiet. The cottage was very sweet and well equipped. Some areas could have done with updating which would have made it 5*. The grounds were nice but some inaccessible like the treehouse and higher fields. Possibly some little signs would have helped too. The owners were lovely and went out of their way to check in and make sure all was well. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday ☺

Could not been any better

What a wonderfull retreat, lovely built by the owners themselfs, perfectly mantained with so much thought and care: the house and the garden. Although situated in a valley you have through many sitting areas the joy of the sun throughout the day. In the evening you can make fire in the oven. The kitchen is well equipped, nothing left to be wanted. Many possibilities for walks and hike nearby. But a car is needed for daytrips. Will come back for sure

Simply Amazing

Where to begin the house and grounds were to die for so peaceful just what we wanted. My granddaughter absolutely loved it and she's only 3 so much to do from fishing to walking playing ball. Kay and Pete were the best hosts so friendly and very welcoming. When we arrived we had lots of goodies the scones jam and cloted cream are my favs much appreciated thankyou kay. We will definitely be returning that's for sure

Hideaway

We have stayed at Anderson a few times before. Really, selfishly we want to keep this place a secret so we can enjoy when we want! It is in such a beautiful position that you cannot fail to relax. It is a struggle to tear yourselves away but the area and coast are so dramatic you have to force yourself out! Don't go if you want constant wifi access or a big TV but most of us are attracted to it exactly for that reason. Homely and well equipped with a brilliant riverside garden terrace.

Peaceful isolation

We have just returned from our third visit to this delightful cottage, unheard of for us as we don’t normally return to the same place, but it ticks all our boxes. Peaceful, isolated and beautiful surroundings, and just a couple of miles from the brooding charm of the North Cornish coastline. If you like to be constantly ‘on-grid’ with Wi-Fi and Mobile, then turn over now. However, if you want to relax in a comfortable and charming environment, the only sound being the nearby babbling stream and distant hoot of tawny owls, then Anderton Mill is the place to unwind.

Truly magical

When you pull up to the property, you are literally blown away as it is the sweetest cottage set in a magical, fairytale like woodland in a wild but beautifully maintained garden with your own stream, which we could not get our dogs out of! There are different little areas like a terrace (perfect for breakfast) and a BBQ area tucked away in the ferns with ample seating, allowing you to make the most of your environment. The cottage itself is so pretty and quaint and had literally everything you could need. The welcome note, fresh flowers, scones, clotted cream, jam and strawberries were a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. The bed was lovely and comfortable and waking up to the sound of the babbling stream was wonderful. Kay and Peter, the owners, were located across the stream and invited us up to theirs for drinks one sunny evening and they are the most charming couple you could ever hope to meet, so much so that we have offered them a house swap with our property in the Cotswolds should they themselves ever want a break away - although I don't know why they ever would as they live in a truly wonderful part of the world. Many thanks for everything as myself, my partner and our pups had the best time ever :) xx

Absolutely Idyllic

My husband and I booked this beautiful cottage for a week of peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. The property is straight off a chocolate box, absolutely stunning and also immaculate. The pictures don’t do it justice. The gardens, the stream and surrounding countryside are beautiful. We received a welcome pack and note from the owners which was a lovely surprise and much appreciated after a long trip down. The location whilst slightly remote is never more than an hour (ish) to travel somewhere. We visited a lot of places in Cornwall in the space of a week and the journey to and from the cottage was never an issue. The lack of wi-fi could be an inconvenience if you can’t live without your phone, but the peace quiet and natural beauty of the cottage and the surrounding areas more than make up for that. It has been a joy to have stayed here.

Charming & Magical

We've had a brilliant holiday at Anderton Mill. It's sits magically in its picturesque 7 acres of grounds and gardens alongside the river that once would've supplied all it's power. From beautiful original stone walls and flagstone floors to the clever use of huge old wooden planks for window seats and a settle the owners have spared no attention to detail in their restoration of this labour of love. There's all mod cons including a great bath/shower room and lovely recently refitted kitchen with all appliances as well as a separate utility area. The large slate terrace next to the river is well equipped with dining furniture and loungers; it gets the sun all day and is prettily lit at night. There's also a separate BBQ terrace on the other side of the cottage which is sheltered and gets all the late sunshine. Evenings were cosy in the spacious lounge area with the log burner lit and upstairs the bedrooms were well decorated and of good size. Everywhere was very clean and well equipped. Our girls enjoyed exploring the grounds a great deal (as did we); there's a large pond teeming with life and a brilliant treehouse built to look like a boat with its own fore-deck. There were also plenty of expeditions up and down the river which was perfectly safe to paddle in. Half a mile up the hill is the nearest pub, The Horseshoe which serves pub grub and a couple of miles in the other direction is Boscastle with a good choice of pubs and restaurants as well as the shops. Trebarwith Strand was a brilliant beach for waves, rock pools and sand; our dog Mustard loved it! Overall Anderton Mill was a charming and very comfortable base for this part of the North Cornwall Coast.

"Schöner Wohnen" im Norden Cornwalls

Das Cottage liegt traumhaft, der Garten und die Terrasse sind ein Traum. Den oberen Sitzplatz mit Abendsonne und Grill haben wir oft genutzt. Es war fast zu schade, für Ausflüge das Grundstück zu verlassen (Achtung, durch die Straßenverhältnisse dauert alles länger, als wir das gewöhnt sind). Die Wirtsleute sind sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Fazit: jederzeit wieder!

We stumbled across Anderton Mill by chance when walking in the area. At the time it was a complete ruin but we fell in love with its stunning position in the Valency Valley. We spent the next 15 years lovingly restoring it, as time and money allowed. It is now a very special home. We were delighted to receive Rural Property of the Year Award for 2011. Although we visit often, we have been letting Anderton Mill for almost 20 years, with many of our guests returning year after year - the record being 16 years in succession!
North Cornwall remains one of the least spoilt areas of Great Britain and the Vallency Valley is a very special place. We have spent many happy times here with our family and friends.

We always enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cottage; the abundance of wildlife and the variety offered by the seasons. Sitting outside on a warm evening is a real joy, listening to the river and gazing at stars we don't see in the city.
This place is unique - something that our guests often comment on.
