Forget your worries in this serene space. Magnificent views and a quiet neighbourhood will give you the downtime you are looking for. A vehicle is required to get around Hornby Island, however we have a general store, restaurant and scenic marina within a 10 minute walk from the studio.

We are ferry dependent so keep in mind the ferry schedule (both Buckley and Hornby Ferries).

The stand-alone studio is attached to the garage building and is 200 ft away from the main house. It has a raised queen size bed so you can take in the ocean view while relaxing in bed. A kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, toaster, French coffee press and dishes is available for you to cook simple meals. The bathroom has a stand up shower.

The studio sleeps only 2 people, however in the summer we can accommodate 1 extra persons (in your own tent and sleeping bags) pitched on the deck or in the forest. There is an extra charge per camper per night - contact host for details.

The studio is equipped with a smart TV (no channels but Netflix, Prime etc are available). Board games and Wi-Fi also included.

The large kitchen window overlooks the spacious deck which has two chaise loungers, table and chairs and barbecue. Here you can enjoy the spectacular ocean and old growth forest views.

Charming spot on Hornby!

Lina was very helpful and communicative with directions and checking in! Great little space with lots of amenities :) We wish we could stay longer! My son and I enjoyed our short visit to Hornby

Great get away spot to disconnect

Had a great time for a quick get away. Just Remember to bring all your own linens and stuff. Host was super nice and very welcoming. Looking forward to stay here in the future

Great Stay

We had a lovely time at Heron Rocks Lookout! The place is small, but cozy and well equipped. There is a large patio with a beautiful view and easy to use BBQ. The studio has a shared wall with the garage which made it feel a little less private but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Great getaway studio apartment

Lina was an amazing host. The bed was comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed. It is cozy, quiet and clean. We had a wonderful time on Hornby and would definitely book with this host again.

Heron Rocks Lookout

The cabin is ideally located for long, tree-lined walks in all directions with a beautiful & private sun-dappled deck. The pupper loved to play there while I read and enjoyed my coffee. Lina was very communicative and ready with tips and even gave me a heads-up about a ferry delay after I checked out. What a lovely place to chill and unwind! I had a fabulous week and came back totally refreshed. Thanks, Lina!

Fords Cove Comfort

We had such a comfortable stay. Lina is an incredible host and the small apartment has everything you need to enjoy a week on Hornby. The large deck and bbq has views over local farmland, and south to the strait. A nice close walk down to Ford's Cove and a lovely trail to the ferries. Great value .. Thanks Lina

Perfect in every way

The studio is beautifully located surrounded by forest with a view of the water. It's a cozy, well-appointed suite with all we needed for a quiet retreat. Lots of bird song, breeze in the trees and almost no other human sounds. We were sorry not to get to meet Lina as she was away. However, she was totally available and welcoming by phone. We felt well cared for.

Beautiful location

I loved walking to the Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park trail. I was there during a heat wave and swimming just off the trail with my dog was amazing. Fun narrow windy drive to Co-op. A few wonderful and tasty stands along the way for veggies and baked goods. Lina was super nice and quick to connect. The deck is private and the view and ocean breeze was a nice treat given the heat. An added bonus was the cattle farm below. In the evenings we watched the farmer and his working dogs bring in the cows! I found the raised bed a little awkward to get into because the mattress kept shifting over but it was super comfortable. Slept soundly. Wifi was strong. Had everything I needed. Will be back again! Thanks, Lina : )

Website needs update

The location of the studio is very nice. After we confirmed and paid for the Studio, we got an email stating that we needed to bring our own bedsheet and towel which at that time wasn't on the VRBO website. We walked in a cold studio, the portable heater wasn't turned on when we arrived. Then we found a note on the toilet; " Put nothing in the toilet, toilet paper goes in the trash bin and you need to take your garbage home with you." If we would of known this we would of rent a different place. Travelling around with your garbage is not appealing and not in our vacation plan.

Quiet spot in beautiful surroundings; house rules a bit restrictive.

The place was clean and tidy when we arrived, and the property and private outside deck are very nice, with tall trees all around. The neighbourhood is quiet and very pretty. As a studio, the size is best suited to 1 or 2 guests. The bed is on a tall platform with a step stool allowing a nice view from a window. If limited mobility, could be a concern. Hornby Island has an issue of water shortages and a water conservation policy. It's a beautiful, rural, natural environment, so municipal services are limited. These issues are reflected in the studio’s house rules (for example: limit showers to 3 minutes; no man-made products or toilet paper to be flushed as pump may back up system). Also note that guests are required to take all their waste with them on leaving. Electrical service is limited to one kitchen cooking appliance at a time and only one element for the cooking.

Cute little place

We enjoyed our stay here however there were a few odd things which may be a cultural/language difference. Someone called us the day of arrival after we had texted with our plans and told us to pay a cash pet fee which was not mentioned in the listing. This was a bit of a put off. The place is nice but minimalist for sure. Well stocked kitchen wise - large fridge which was nice. Small peekabo view and the walk to the beach has a steep part so you need to be able to navigate that. Beautiful little deck and quiet. There are odd rules (no tp in the toilet) that would have been good to know in advance. We had to empty our garbage (due to tp) halfway so it didn’t smell. Also thought it was a bit strange that we had to take our garbage with us. We don’t produce much and we pay a cleaning fee so it seems a bit odd? Totally understood bringing our own bedding to reduce washing, however on arrival there was a duvet and blanket. overall enjoyed the stay, was cozy and well stocked. Oh and the bed is quite firm - I didn’t mind but some may find it too hard.

Good with some drawbacks

Quiet rural and scenic location. Overall conditions of small studio was reasonable. Spacious outside deck with good seating and table. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. The bed was average for comfort however was very high, somewhat of a challenge for a medium height woman. ( need to use a stool, if shorter) Indoor seating ( dining) was not comfortable,, unless for a short period. Internet and tv were good. Some drawbacks /rules took away some of the overall enjoyment. These were explained as normal for the location of Hornby Island. Bring your own sheets and towels. No toilet paper allowed in toilet Take away your own gargage. Use one appliance at time. The host had good communication. Happy to be allowed our small dog. Overall , good for a short visit , if you don’t mind the above noted rules. We stayed 2 nights. Unfortunately one day was rainy, so we were inside more than expected.
