We enjoyed our week at the little house on the lake. The scenery was quiet and refreshing. There is a dock where you can sun or fish and a small sandy area for kids to play or where you can use the fire pit. The water in front of the cottage is perfect for canoeing or paddle boating and has easy access to the larger part of Lake Erie.
The floors and bedding were clean. There were a lot of areas beside, behind and under that could use more attention. I would suggest that you bring additional linens, towels and washcloths. We chose to use the option of having the linens and towels provided ($50) but had to go to the laundry mat to get through the week (there were three of us). There were no linens for the futons.
Cottage needs some updating (windows, screens and doors, etc). The kitchen and appliances are tiny but functional. The bathroom sink is a little challenging. The internet service is good. There is a covered porch at the front of the house that is great for morning coffee.
We had a nice relaxing stay. It would have been helpful to have had an informational sheet regarding where things were located, how to use the tv and internet (password), what to do with garbage, where to find keys for the doors, contact phone numbers, etc. I was able to get the needed information by contacting or texting the owner but a quick handy reference would have been great.
Overall, it seems the little house by the lake is a great for accommodating vacationers who desire a fishing/water-sport cottage with easy access to Lake Erie.
