The house is beautiful, spacious, and clean. The owner and property management company are polite and helpful. This place really is great and I would recommend it to others. I only had a few issues that were an annoyance, not trip ruiners.
I booked this place for the heated pool, full stop. The heat was advertised as being included but I was later told I needed to pay extra in the check-in email. When I asked about it, I never received a reply. When we arrived, we learned that both the pool and hot tub are closed for several months over the winter, non-negotiable. It was too unseasonably cold to swim but we were disappointed even the hot tub was closed, even as temps returned to normal later in our stay. I booked this for the pool and was not told of the seasonal closure at any time before I arrived. For that reason, I wouldn't book this again during the holidays.
Communication was also tricky. The listing is governed by 3 different entities-the owner, the property management company, and the HOA. I take care to read the property rules when I book but when we arrived, there were many more rules taped all over the walls and it felt like a scavenger hunt trying to find them all and make sure we complied (or face steep fees!). The rules themselves were reasonable but the way they were communicated was strange. We also risked being fined for not following rules that we didn't find and read right away. In fact, we fortunately read to take the trash to the curb the day it needed to happen and rushed to avoid a $50 fee. When the can wasn't picked up due to the holiday, we then risked another undisclosed fee from HOA for leaving the can out in the wrong day, etc. When it appeared our neighbors also had no idea when to leave the cans out and retrieve the cans, I reached out to the owner for guidance, even suggesting to haul the trash in our car to find an unattended dumpster. Because the owner is in the UK, it took several hours to hear that a) the trash schedule looks normal on the website and b) we have to call the property management company. By this time they were closed so I sent an email and hoped for the best. On the morning of our check-out, we waited, all packed up and ready for Magic Kingdom, for the property management company to get back to us regarding what to do with the trash. When we finally reached them, they cheerfully affirmed that the holidays have disrupted several trash schedules and assured they would send someone
