Nyumbani is een traditionele gelijkvloers Skye huisje gelegen in zijn eigen omslag rond tuinen met uitzicht op het prachtige Loch Harport aan de prachtige westkust van het eiland Skye. Nyumbani betekenen 'ons huis', in het Swahili, en dit beschrijft treffend deze aantrekkelijke cottage, met zijn gezellige lounge / eetkamer met open haard, diepe lederen sofa's, familie grote keuken en 3 royale slaapkamers. Er is een mooie serre die een tweede lounge biedt, met een grote flatscreen-tv en een dvd. Deuren openen naar de volledig omheinde tuin rondom het pand. Bedlinnen en handdoeken.

House needs complete make-over and deep cleaning

Lots of work to be done to the house and garden, broken doorhandle, worn out benches, no TV and no help with satellite installation offered (you can go watch the EC in a pub :-(; mold in the bathroom and we were with a COPD patient :-(, not heated at the moment of arrival (heating to be turned on 1 hour later). Beds not very comfy. No facilities for waste separation available. The house could use thorough cleaning as well..Such a pity because the location is great! Paid to much for what is offered.

Fijn ruim met fraai uitzicht, midden op Isle of Skye en in directe omgeving van Fairy Pools.

Ietwat verouderd, maar goed uitgerust en zeer sfeervol en ruim huis.

Perfect spot for a wet and windy break

If you are looking for a relatively remote spot with gorgeous views across the loch, this is perfect. The property was warm and cosy, great to hunker down despite the lashing rain and powerful wind outside. A short walk gets you to Talisker distillery, the Old Inn and little local convenience store, so yiu have all you need. Property well equipped and comfortable, great communication with owner - thanks for the opportunity to explores the wilds and wiles of Skye.

Almost great...

Nice property in the beautiful scenic Skye!! However, we got the impression that the host's property keeper wasn't quite ready for us. There was a mattress propped up against one of the dressers and the packaging/plastic cover was in another bedroom on the floor.

A week in Skye

The property was spacious, clean and well presented. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and the hard floors were easily kept clean from muddy paws. The location of the property allowed us to visit many places during our stay and the caretakers local knowledge allowed us to find a beach close by for the dogs to play in the water. All in all, an excellent place to be in and be based from.

Cozy and Relaxing!

This house was the perfect place to stay on Skye. It has the most amazing views and isn't too far from several gorgeous sites (though a car is still a necessity!) An overall magical place and made us feel right at home. The property manager was super attentive, friendly and easy to reach. He also gave us some great recommendations. We will definitely have to come back!

Perfect base

I loved the house and the layout. The location was beautiful and peaceful. My only suggestion would be to post a new picture of the front. With the updates you've done to the parking its gard to recognize with the curre t picture. I absolutely loved this place.

Short stay on Skye

We had a good time here! The property is big and had all the necessities. It is a very peaceful and beautiful area. The road that leads there is a single lane road, so it was a bit stressful to get there by car, and there is no grocery nearby. It is very easy to get to the Talisker distillery and to the fairy pools from there. Overall, it was an amazing place to stay!

Seniors Travel

Beautiful place with lots of space and big kitchen. Host gave us lots of directions and lots of info on check in and check out. Easy could have three couples travelling. Only one bathroom though.

Not the best experience. We did not receive any information on gaining access to the property until multiple messages through the app had been sent even after check in time had passed. Something went amiss with the hot water tank on our second night (after completing three Scottish versions of “walks”) so we had to sponge bathe. Issue was remedied the next day. Overall, this property is loaded with potential but needs investment of time and money. Didn’t like the note to call someone to announce we had arrived as it seems unnecessary when booked via Expedia/VRBO, plus we didn’t have voice capability on travel eSIMs. Do not recommend.

Bon emplacement à Carbost

Le logement comprend 3 chambres dont 2 avec 2 lits séparés , malheureusement nous avons des puces( pas de lit). La salle de bain est ancienne. Problème de chauffage. Pas de wc séparé. L’emplacement est bon.

Llegamos tarde y no había agua en la casa, no quisimos molestar tan tarde, esperando que se solucionaría. A la mañana siguiente llamamos y finalmente nos tuvimos que marchar sin duchar sin agua en fregadero,cisterna….. los sofás estaban muy sucios. Un desastre en general

Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Haus in schöner Fjordlage

Schön geschnittenes Haus mit tollem Fjordblick. Leider sind die Möbel etwas in die Jahre gekommen (ein Schrank brach nach dem Öffenen der Tür direkt zusammen), auf den Sofas liegen Decken, damit man nicht sieht, wie verschlissen sie sind und der Garten ist etwas verwarhlost. Da das Haus aber ansonsten sehr praktisch aufgeteilt ist und man im Wintergarten richtig gut sitzten kann, hatten wir einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt.
