Het is de meest zuidwestelijke plaats van Afrika, slechts enkele kilometers van Kaap de Goede Hoop en slechts 40 minuten rijden van Kaapstad - een absolute insider tip!

In het luxe Beach House kunt u er even helemaal tussenuit - of het nu voor een week is of voor enkele maanden, home office maakt het mogelijk - en zonder groot tijdsverschil. U heeft 270 vierkante meter voor uzelf - met 3 slaapkamers, 3 badkamers, volledig uitgeruste keuken en een ruime woon- en eetkamer met open haard, groot terras met zwembad en een droomuitzicht! Het fijne zandstrand ligt op slechts 10 minuten lopen.

Ocean's Horizon Beach House ligt in Scarborough, een idyllisch, klein kustplaatsje in het zuidwesten van de Kaap met minder dan 1000 inwoners, waaronder veel kunstenaars en drop-outs - een klein paradijs en een echte insider tip! Met zijn adembenemende ligging aan de Atlantische Oceaan, omgeven door het natuurreservaat, heeft het dorp zijn natuurlijke grenzen en kan het - 25 jaar geleden uitgeroepen tot "Eco Village" - niet verder groeien. Dit betekent dat Scarborough niet ontworpen is voor grote toeristenmassa's, ideaal is voor rustzoekers en gewoon uniek is.

Veel van de grote bezienswaardigheden van het Kaapse schiereiland liggen in de directe omgeving - bijvoorbeeld Kaap de Goede Hoop, de pinguïnkolonie in Simon's Town, het Long Beach in Noordhoek en niet te vergeten het pittoreske huisstrand van Scarborough waar u de surfers kunt bekijken.

Afhankelijk van het seizoen kunt u in Scarborough zelfs walvissen, dolfijnen en zeehonden zien - met een beetje geluk direct vanaf het terras van Ocean's Horizon. De verrekijker ligt al klaar! Exceeding Expectations

We stayed three nights in May 2024. Dalene, the property manager, was delightful and made the experience so easy. The owners have a beautiful home including amazing views and it had everything we needed to just show up and be completely comfortable and feel right at home. We’d say it was a once in a lifetime experience except for the fact we may very well return again!

Wow!! Such a beautiful home!

Everything about this lovely home was perfect and Torsten, the owner was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about all the amazing things to do, see and places to eat in this gorgeous area. Dalene, the property manager was delightful and truly wanted our stay to be perfect in every way!! I cannot more highly recommend this home if you are looking for stunning views, friendly people and so many fun things to do in this area, just outside of Cape Town!! We will be back in summer to experience another season here!!

Perfect

Our stay was heavenly - the house is absolutely fantastic. More than enough room to spread out, large bedrooms, many bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and the Views were amazing. The community is friendly and laid back, the house is an easy drive to the Cape of Good Hope, Simons Town, Kalk Bay, and several days we drove into Cape Town for sightseeing and shopping. The fireplace kept the house nice and warm. Dalene is wonderful - she took great care of us, keeping us well informed about weather, load shedding, etc. we will definitely look to return and stay at this property!!

Fantastic Place for our Family Reunion!!!

After 2 years of separation due to Corona, we have chosen Susan's and Alex Place for our family reunion. What a great choice. Susan and Alex were wonderful hosts, the communication and check in were perfect. The house had everything, well equipped, great architecture, a wonderful view, enough space and comfortable beds. It was such a pleasure, that we could rent this house and we had a wonderful time. Also Scarborough is a lovely place with nice cafes and it has a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. My son said, we could make this to a tradition. I wish we could!! Thank you Susan and Alex, it was wonderful!!

Perfekter Standort für Ausflüge rund um Kapstadt

Luxuriöses, geräumiges und sehr gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus 40 Minuten südlich von Kapstadt. Die Terrasse mit Blick auf die Bucht von Scarborough ist traumhaft mit kleinem Pool, in dem die Kinder super baden können. Die Sonnenuntergänge, die man von dort beobachten kann sind spektakulär und unvergesslich. Der Wohnraum ist sehr luftig und geräumig mit mehreren Sofas und Sesseln, die Schlafzimmer sind mit bequemen Betten und jeweils einem Bad en Suite ausgestattet. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Susan ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die uns persönlich empfangen hat und uns jederzeit für Fragen und Ausflugstips zu Verfügung stand. Im Dorf gibt es einen kleinen Laden, in dem man von frischen Brötchen bis zu hausgemachtem Eis alles bekommen kann. Im ersten Stock des Ladens befindet sich ein Restaurant, in dem man sehr gut essen kann. Uns hat das Ferienhaus und der Ort so gut gefallen, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen werden. Wundervolles Haus mit spektakulärem Seeblick

Wir haben mit unseren Kindern eine tolle Woche in dem wunderschönen Haus von Susan und Alex verbracht. More than expected, simple, elegant and comfortable beach home.

From the first contact through the entire stay, the host provided exceptional attention to our needs offering a stunning property. Scarborough is the perfect location to base from while visiting the Cape. Whatever adventure you choose, it is mostly within an hours drive and then you return to this lovely home to recount the day enjoying a beautiful sunset or watching the waves roll in. Beds and linens are superior, furnishings comfortable, squeeky clean and above all quiet and peaceful. If you're looking at Capetown for your visit, secure this property.

Perfect stay, will book again!

Phantastic home at an ideal location to explore the cape peninsula, the beaches and wine region, with a great view, totaly quiet, absolutely clean and in great shape. Traumhaft !!!!

Schon die Begrüssung durch Susan und Alex sowie der Haushälterin Grace fiel liebenswürdig und herzlich aus. Der Kühlschrank war grosszügig gefüllt mit erlesenen Speisen wie Brot, Käse , Salat und Früchten sowie einem Begrüssungswein. Wir fühlten uns jede Minute in dem grosszügig gebauten und sehr stilvoll eingerichteten Haus absolut wohl. Die gedeckte Terrasse mit dem Pool und der Blick zum Meer ist herrlich um traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge zu geniessen. Die Fotos entsprechen absolut der Realität und wir können dieses Haus und ihre Vermieter aus voller Überzeugung empfehlen. Scarborough ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt um die unberührte Natur aber auch die unterschiedlichen Dörfer und Sehenswürdigkeiten des Kap zu erkunden. Auch Kapstadt liegt in gut erreichbarer Nähe.

Traumhafte Aussicht

Bereits im Voraus wurden wir von Susan mit allen hilfreichen und nützlichen Informationen zur Umgebung und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, etc. beliefert. Wir wurden bestens umsorgt und fühlten uns schon vor der Ankunft herzlichst Willkommen. Dass dann bei der Ankunft der Kühlschrank bereits mit den wichtigsten Grundnahrungsmitteln bestückt war und eine Flasche Wein wie auch eine Tafel Schokolade und Biskuits die Ankunft versüssten, war eine riesige Überraschung und die Spitze der Gastfreundlichkeit! Das Haus ist in perfekter Hanglage mit wunderschöner Aussicht über die Meeresbucht. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind traumhaft und zweimal konnten wir auch eine Delfinschule (Gruppe mit mehreren hundert Tieren) beobachten. Das Teleskop für die "Nahaufnahmen" steht im Wohnzimmer bereit. Das Haus ist mit allen nötigten Utensilien ausgerüstet. Für den Ausflug an den Strand stehen auch Strandliegen, Sonnenschirm, Kühlbox und Body-Board zur Verfügung. Wer sich ins immer kalte Atlantikwasser wagt, kann damit herrlich auf den Wellen gleiten. Für uns lag das Haus im ruhigen Scarborough perfekt, um mit kurzen Autofahrten das Kap der Guten Hoffnung, die Pinguine in Simons Town, die farbigen Badehäuschen in Muizenberg und natürlich auch Kapstadt selbst zu besuchen. Für uns kommt bei der Bewertung nur die Bestnote von 5 Sternen in Frage! Das Haus, die Lage und die Herzlichkeit der Eigentümerin sind unübertroffen! Vielen Dank an Susan, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Amazing

Oceans Horizon is a unique place. The house is very charming and comfortable. The position and the view are just amazing. Everything is really perfect. We have missed nothing. Exquisite!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Ocean's Horizon. The house is so beautiful, well kept, and clean and the views are like a dream come true! Susan left us a welcoming gift along with some groceries in the refrigerator which was super unexpected! Susan was so great to work with and provided us with so many resources on things to do and places to go. We loved the small town charm of Scarborough but were still close to so many other attractions. Our stay here and their hospitality exceeded our expectations! We would love to come back again!

point de vue fantastique. confort et propreté remarquable. parfait pour 3 couples.il ne manque rien. scarborough peut paraître un peu loin de Capetown, mais la route via Houtbay est superbe, on ne s'en lasse pas; et on profite du calme. nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse.

Wonderful Scarborough och Ocean view house

Our fourth trip to South Africa this time ended up in Scarborough. Ocean view is a fantastic house with dramatic views, where nothing is missing. Scarborough a village that still seems unspoiled and untouched where nature and sea in perfect harmony creates the background for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed our eleven days in the house so much that we stayed in the house and the village rather than going for further excursions in the Cape. Many wonderful walks on the beach, afternoon on the terrace, a glass of wine at sunset and dining prepared in the fantastic well-equipped kitchen, that is, a perfect holiday. Our hosts, Susan and Alex were very attentive and helpful. We will be more than happy to return to this paradise!

Gorgeous and Tranquil!

Our family spent Christmas at Ocean's Horizons and had the best week and a half! It was so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house is close enough to lots of tourist attractions but far enough away to feel relaxing! We loved our stay and are excited to go back in the future! Absolut empfehlenswert!!!!!!

Dieses Haus ist nicht nur perfekt, es hat auch ein unglaublich gemütliches, maritimes Flair. Wir waren nach Weihnachten für 1 Woche in diesem wunderschönem Domizil. Wir, das sind mein Mann, meine Tochter, meine Kusine, ihr Mann und ich. Es gab für alle genug Platz in den 3 Schlafzimmern. Das Haus hat 3 Stockwerke und eine offene Bauweise mit großflächigen Fenstern. Wir haben oft gekocht und gegrillt und das machte echt Spaß in der wunderschönen Küche mit angeschlossenem Wohnbereich. Ich habe mir viele Häuser angeschaut bevor ich dieses gebucht habe und ich muss sagen, es war die beste Wahl. Die Lage ist fantastisch, man sieht über die Bucht von Scarborough. Susan hat alles liebevoll beschrieben und war uns eine große Hilfe bei allen unseren Fragen im Vorfeld. Es war eine gute Entscheidung etwas fernab von Kapstadt zu wohnen, so haben wir unsere Ausflüge von dort gestartet und hatten auch noch genügend Zeit zum Relaxen. Die Beschreibung und die Fotos waren schon sehr ansprechend, trotzdem waren wir alle überrascht wie schön das Haus ist. Es ist mehr wie ein Zuhause als ein gemietetes Objekt. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt und werden gerne wiederkommen.

Maison, vue et propriétaire irréprochables !

Une grande maison, très propre fonctionnelle et à la déco très agréable, et à qui la superbe vue donne toute sa valeur. Et en plus il y avait de quoi manger dans le frigo à notre arrivée ! Nous n'avons pas eu le temps de profiter de toutes les suggestions d'activités faites par Susan mais avons passé 4 jours de rêve dans une région magnifique. Nous recommandons fortement et espérons avoir l'occasion de revenir un jour voir le coucher du soleil sur l'océan depuis la terrasse.

We are Torsten and Martin! We absolutely fell in love with Ocean’s Horizon, and we were over the moon when we were given the opportunity to take over this wonderful home in September 2022. With the vast Atlantic Ocean in front of you and Baskloof Nature Reserve behind you, it truly is a magical place that will inspire you and make you feel at peace.

Ocean’s Horizon is not only perfectly suited for a holiday, but also for extended stays — or even as your remote office if you’re a digital nomad. We also love working from Ocean’s Horizon — but only three months out of the year. The rest of the time we rent out the house so that you also have the opportunity to experience its magic.

Enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the beach and the coastal town of Scarborough from the open-plan living area, the veranda, the pool and even from the king-size bed, shower and whirlpool bath in the main bedroom.

Surrounded by pristine nature:
The Baskloof Nature Reserve begins directly behind Ocean’s Horizon. A garden gate leads to this natural paradise and up to the local mountain, Camel Rock, which offers a variety of hiking trails and a stunning view of the coastline.

Ample space for up to six people:
The spacious 270 m²-home is on three levels and has three bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The beds in Bedrooms 2 and 3 can be separated if desired.

Exceptional architecture and timeless design:
The stylish house offers spectacular panoramic vistas through large windows that blur the line between indoors and outdoors. The kitchen, dining room, lounge with fireplace and entertainment area merge seamlessly into one another and their bright interiors evoke a holiday feeling.

Exclusive privacy for special moments:
The house, the veranda and the garden are shielded from outside glances and are therefore ideal for an intimate getaway for two. The garage offers direct access to the house.

Luxurious features - delightful all year long:
In summer, the spacious veranda beckons with its small plunge pool, sun loungers and even a braai (barbecue grill). On cooler days, the open fireplace in the lounge, the gas fireplace in the main bedroom, the whirlpool bath and the under-floor heating in the bathrooms and bedrooms ensure plenty of warmth for cosy moments.

Perfectly equipped ̶ even for extended stays:
The fully equipped kitchen, utility room with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer allow for a holiday escape with no limitations. For a visit to the beach, bath towels, beach chairs, parasols and a cooler are ready and waiting. And of course, the braai is waiting to be used on the veranda.

Comprehensive entertainment:
Thanks to the high-speed fibre-optic connection, complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the entire house. The large smart TV in the lounge provides for a cinema feeling from the comfort of the sofa. A large selection of films, series and TV channels is available via Netflix and DStv.

Smart home, modern living:
A sophisticated lighting concept using Alexa voice recognition and motion sensors makes switching lights on and off a breeze at Ocean’s Horizon.

Relax in complete safety - and always with power:
The tranquil coastal town of Scarborough is located away from large housing developments and is exceptionally safe ̶ you can move around freely here. To ensure peace of mind, Ocean’s Horizon is equipped with an easy-to-operate state-of-the-art security system. Additionally, a solar power system guarantees a constant supply of electricity at all times - a big plus in South Africa!
