The Freestanding cottage has a own kitchen, 1 bathroom, living room, with amazing views.

There is a spacious bathroom, kitchenette,and a cosy living area .the bedroom is comfortable with a airconditioning, king-size bed double bed. The bathroom is ensuite.
In the whole cottage is Floor heating…

Coffee and tea are always available,similarly the usual herbal.
The beds are made and bath sheets,towels and kitchen towels are included,
2 bikes are included in the price! You can may also use oure kanoes if they are not used.
In this beautiful area you can spend hours bobbing on the water.
The many cycling and hiking trails start from your cottage. with it's cute historic villages,
Bicycle and walking routes are present. Also many other area information.
with a private veranda lying direct near the waterfront with open view over the countryside and next to the canal that leads straight into the nature and cute villages !
The village is just 15 minutes from Amsterdam and 15 minutes from the famous fishing village Volendam or Marken with his beatiful in style built houses .
There are 2 golf courses nearby
There is public transport 6 minutes in waling distance from your cotage….
Or how about a visit to the cheese market in Edam or a trip the zaanse schans, with its old windmills,… this trips that all close near our village Broek in Waterland.
Within 15 minutes you are in Amsterdam .Amsterdam has a lot to offer, magnificent architecture, stores and boutiques. also visits the many museums we recommend the Gogh museum, the maritime and the Anne Frank house .
In the village are a pancakehouse and 2 other good restaurants, .

Nice and friendly cottage

Strongly recommend for North Holland. Friendly owner, a great view from the sofas, safe parking lot and all what you need for a nice holiday. Easy with the bus to Amsterdam, nice natural surrounding, perfect bicycle tours and great small villages easy to reach. Thank you for the great visit.

Great stay

Lovely, little place outside Amsterdam. Leia was a wonderful host, very helpful, even walked with us down to local market and helped us shop! Walked with us to show us where local restaurants and shops were.

We Loved Every Minute

The property is absolutely gorgeous, there is a separate kitchenette/sitting room with a STUNNING picture window and views of the water and farm and the animals. Wonderful stay in Broek

We had an amazing time - the location is great for bike or bus trips to nearby towns, and the commute into Amsterdam is really easy. The family is wonderful and being on the canal was really nice and relaxing. Would highly recommend this stay!!

Outside the city

We found this place to be a great location. Easy access to the city via bus. A great little grocery store close by. Our hosts were very helpful and provided information based on our interests. We explored north of Holland on the two bikes that were available to us. Holland is beautiful place to explore. We would definitely recommend this place to stay. The house is very spacious with a beautiful kitchen and sitting room facing the water. It is located in a very quiet area.

Gem in the Countryside

What a lovely gem we discovered!! It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing to come back to each day as we explored Amsterdam and the surrounding area. House was very cozy and comfortable with beautiful views of the local canal and farmland, so serene to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee taking it all in. The hosts were absolutely amazing, respecting our space but warm and friendly and willing to go out of their way to help us find bus routes to places we might like to visit and offer suggestions too, which were great. We hope to return again sometime to experience the region in a different season and this is top on our list as a home away from home base. My deepest thanks and gratitude to them for making our stay so lovely.

Spectacular place near Amsterdam

Everything about this cottage is wonderful. You are just a short bus ride to Amsterdam (nothing compares with the ease of the Dutch transit system), yet you are right on a canal with a gorgeous view of farmland and a long, long view to the horizon. The town itself, Broek in Waterland, is one of the sweetest in all of Holland and has two excellent restaurants. The owners of the property, George and Lia, live in the house next door and are two of the nicest people you will meet. We really can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is.

Like something out of a fairy tale

We had such a wonderful stay here! The house is beautiful and the village looks like an illustration for a book of fairy tales. Also super easy to get into Amsterdam- about a half hour on public transport. George and Lia went above and beyond as hosts. They were very friendly and helpful and even made the extremely kind offer to let us stay an extra night after transport difficulties meant that we arrived late. Would absolutely recommend this property to anyone considering!

This cottage is just as described…actually better. Great beds, peaceful, quaint location, very homey and near public transportation. Friendly and helpful hosts. Clean and pleasant property with nice views from the deck. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain so didn’t really get to enjoy the deck. Has off road parking but parking area and outside would benefit from a tidy up. We had a few issues with the tv signal but hope George and Lia have sorted that by now.

Lovely, Tranquil Stay

The cottage is lovely, with big windows opening to a canal and sheep-fields. Very comfortable lodging with all we needed for meals in. The cottage is set in a lovely village that is a short bus ride from the Central Station in Amsterdam. Check in went easily, with good communication prior to stay. George and Lia were available if needed but very respectful of our privacy. This is our second stay here and we would gladly rent again.

Wonderful lodging in Broek in Waterland

Beautiful one bedroom rental right on a canal, rural setting but close to the city, has everything you need with a beautiful view. Even has a king bed (very hard find in Europe) a plus. 10 minutes walk to bus stop, 15 minutes into Amsterdam or easily catch a bus to Edam, Markum, Hoorne and many more towns from the same bus stop. Restaurants and grocery store nearby. Lia , George and Sheena were wonderful hosts making sure we had everything we needed.

4 weeks in Holland

This was a wonderful stay. Lia and George were great hosts and very helpful. The area was peaceful and a nice reprieve from the city. My favorite part was sitting on the deck and watching the sheep and geese. The deck sits right on top of the canal, it’s private, so the sounds of the water and the wild life made it that much more serene. Using public transportation, it’s an easy ride to Amsterdam, the airport, and other parts of Holland. I visited Haarlem, The Hague, Delft, and Rotterdam in my time. I also went to the beach a couple times when the weather was nice. Lia and George were wondering and welcoming. I arrived at a great time and got the chance to meet the baby sheep and watch the sheep getting sheered. It was an incredible and unforgettable adventure.

Love the location!

The appartement is perfect. Bed comfortable. The communication with the hosts was very easy. We appreciate that they live next door but we have all our privacy. Our favorite is the location. Small quiet village 15 minutes from the city center. Very frequent buses to get there. The appartement is on the edge of the canal. You can observe nature and the landscape changes every day. The hidden gem

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Amsterdam and in George's and Lia's lovely cottage. Thank you so much for everything! Amsterdam was charming, but even more we fell in love with the little village of Broek in Waterland, the neighboring villages and our cute cottage by the canal. We are already planning our next trip for autumn - and then we definitely want to have more time to ride a bike and sit on the terrace of the cottage for watching the activities of the animals. The Cottage

Lia and George were excellent hosts, right from our arrival. Even though we arrived early Lia did her utmost to prepare our accommodation. The Cottage is well equipped and clean. Right on the canal with farm animals, birds and ducks to watch. It truly is a relaxing location. A restorative place after a chaotic visit to Amsterdam. Amsterdam itself offered plenty to do and was a short bus trip away. On leaving, we were offered a ride closer to our train and it felt as though we were leaving friends behind. I highly recommend this Cottage! We hope to return some day.

Perfectly Peaceful

Lia and George's cottage is located directly on a canal, on a quiet street in a pretty village. It is conveniently located close to the bus line which will get you to Amsterdam's Noord Station within 10 minutes. Plus, it is an easy drive from here to Volendam, Edam, Zaanse Schans, Keukenhof and so much more. Our stay was perfectly peaceful ... we loved being surrounded by nature, watching the ducks and swans swim by, and keeping an eye on the sheep and horses across the canal. We had everyhing we needed in the kitchen, the bed was very comfortable and the sitting area was cozy. George and Lia are very friendly and super helpful! They explained the public transit system, gave wonderful advice on places to visit, eat or get groceries, and helped when our rental car needed service. They are the perfect hosts! If you enjoy nature, country living, getting away from the hustle and bustle (but not being too far away from the action), we would highly recommended staying at Lia and George's cottage!

We are George and Lia ans we are both born in Broek in Waterland. We love to live here, and know many of these region, so we would gladly help you with tips. We have some goats, sheep and two Shetland ponies that run across the water. visible from your living room.
I (George) love football and films, and Lia love painting, cooking, walking and our cattle. We have two daughters, the youngest still lives at home.
