Ad Astra Cabin is a 1 Bed 1 Bath luxury cabin in the scenic and popular vacation destination town of Broken Bow (Hochatown), located in the Ouchita Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma.
The cabin is located just a few miles from the entrance to Beavers Bend State Park, where Broken Bow Lake resides, with some of the region’s best fishing, hiking, and golfing available.
The space
The cabin sleeps two in a king bed. The cabin was built in 2022, with all new appliances and furniture covering a little over 1,000 square feet, a fully stocked kitchen and luxury amenities, including a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and soaking tub.
The cabin also has a hot tub on the side porch, with views of the surrounding trees. The porch wraps around more than half of the cabin, with plenty of seating on the west side to enjoy the view of sunset through our tall pines and largely-unbuilt forest. The cabin is elevated from the road, up a sloping gravel driveway that is easy to maneuver. Although there are other cabins nearby, both the hot tub and wood-burning fire pit (hidden around back) feel comfortably tucked away from the view of any neighbors or passersby, allowing a sense of privacy while also not feeling too isolated.
The location of the cabin is ideal for relaxing while being only a mile or two from all the conveniences and excitement of Hochatown. Particularly close are the Mountain Fork Brewery, Hochatown Distillery, Shuck Me Oysters, and Okie Girls Coffee and Ice cream—all about a mile away. We can also recommend Grateful Head Pizza, Abendigos, The Hochatown Saloon, and The Eat Out, all a few miles down highway 259. Other popular local attractions include Girls Gone Wine, The Hochatown Rescue Center and Petting Zoo, Gutter Chaos (bowling alley), and The Maze of Hochatown. And that’s just some of what the area has to offer! Don’t forget the park and the lake!
Inside Ad Astra you’ll find a luxurious open concept space with vaulted ceilings and many windows, offering gorgeous natural light throughout all times of the day.
The living room has plenty of seating for the allotted number of guests, with an electric fireplace that can be remote controlled for the perfect ambience. Above the fireplace is a Roku TV with “guest mode” programmed so you can log-in to your favorite subscriptions and automatically log-out when your stay is finished. The wifi is strong and should provide plenty of streaming power and seamless connectivity, particularly when the cell phone service can be spotty in this part of the forest/mountains.
The living room flows into the kitchen, separated by a large island with more than enough built-in seating for 4. The kitchen is fully stocked, with all the expected essentials to cook.
The bedroom contains a king bed, night stands, dresser, closet, full length mirror, and another large Roku TV for enjoying your favorite sitcoms as you fall asleep after the excitement of exploring all that Hochatown has to offer, or simply just staying in, soaking in the hot tub and playing card games all afternoon.
The bathroom is large and clean and luxurious, with bath towels, hot tub towels, and plush white robes to provide all the expected comfort of home or a 5-star hotel.

-IMPORTANT: The house is surrounded by state forests, tucked relatively deep into the woods of southeastern Oklahoma. While it is technically a “luxury cabin development” that Ad Astra resides within, it is still very much encompassed by nature and wildlife. While this means it is a daily routine to see 3-4 deer just a few feet away from the front porch, it also means it is not uncommon to see the less desirable wildlife, such as spiders, mosquitos, wasps, and insects of all kinds. The house is ROUTINELY sprayed for pest control, and our cleaning and maintenance staff do their best to make sure the cabin is ready for your relaxing pleasure. That being said, it is impossible to provide 100% certainty that no insects of any kind will enter any house, particularly surrounded by woods like we are. If you see a common insect or pest native to the area and you would like us to address it, reach out to us and we’ll call pest control immediately. No refunds will be given for minor observances of native insects.
-A Ring Doorbell Camera is located on the front door for security viewing of the porch and driveway. The hot tub is NOT in view of the camera.
-No other cameras or monitoring devices exist inside or outside anywhere
