It’s by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in Rome. It’s small and cozy, yet the rooms are wonderful, super clean and designed beautifully. The staff is super friendly and are always there to help out.

Total catfish from the photos, and the area really wasn’t the nicest, felt very dodgy around night time. The rooms were also quite cold at night. However the staff were really nice and friendly, and everyday cleaning service was also really good. I’d say more of a two start hotel but it is relatively close to the centre!

Very unpleasant

On our tour of Italy Rome was our 1st stop and hotel Re Testa was our 1st hotel. The entrance to the hotel isnt very clear. Its just a door to the side of the building. It has no decent reception just a work table setup in the hallway. When we checked in the air conditioning wasn’t working but we were not informed. We all went in our rooms n turned air conditioning on and went out to tour around. We came back real late but the room was still hot so we asked for a fan. Were told that fans were finished and to add to that we were not allowed to open the balcony. These conditions and 36 degree celsius temperature. Our 1st night in Rome wasnt the experience we were looking for.

Liked: Cleanliness
The hotel and 'residences' are newly remodeled but very difficult to find. The breakfast is very basic and there is no offer to cater for dietary requirements. Our 'Balcony' opened onto the roof top, so our view was of aircon units. Half of the hotel has balconies along the street and the other half has them on the roof. Showers were quite small but managable. Beds were comfortable. No English TV stations.

Lovely Hotel on the Corner

Our stay at the Re Testa was absolutely great. It's within a 25 minute walking distance of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, if you walk a lot - like myself and my partner. We were met at the Reception by a lovely lady, who was very happy to help us organise our days out and share further information in relation to breakfast/cleaning times etc. The rest of the staff that we had come across within the hotel were also very welcoming and friendly, and we were greeted every morning by all whom we met! Upon entering the room, we were met by great facilities including Free Wifi, Air Conditioning, a Room Safe and our own personal veranda. Everything was very clean with a modern flourish, with plenty of cupboard space. Although we did not spend a great deal of time within the room, it was very comfortable and we both slept very well.

Re Testa

Two cooking rings but absolutely nothing to cook or heat with unless you travel with your own pots and pans....the only hotel I have visited where there is no tea or coffee making items in the room.. Be prepared for noise and disruption outside until about 4am as all the local drunks seem to gather outside leaving empty cans and bottles and detritus to greet you in the morning. Staff are pleasant and the hotel is clean but it is not welcoming for weary travellers.

Perfect base for discovery & touring of Rome !

Close to route 719 and 83 bus stops, close to Pyramide Metro station, right next to the "New Testaccio Market". Plenty local supermarkets and restaurants within very close proximity. Friendly and helpful staff who are aware of reviewers and try very hard to make your stay a good one. Added bonus was the balcony with chairs and table where one can put your feet up and have sundowners & snacks after a day out sightseeing. Not your typical hotel - self catering kitchen facility available in rooms for an additional fee. No coffee or tea making facility in rooms, though available via machine in lobby. Great place to stay if you need a base to discover Rome. Wifi ok for email, browsing and Whatsapp audio, not suitable for heavy gaming or FaceTime/Skype video. I will definitely go back again when I next visit Rome !

Too far from the metro station.

Its too far from the metro station. Around 20mins walk. There are no kettle in the room. It's too noisy as I can hear everyone walk through the corridor, I couldn't sleep in the morning. The room is big. The bath room is small, they didn't show the photo of the place of shower because it's extremely small !!!

Well-located modern hotel

The hotel offered modern comforts in the Testaccio area of Rome which is well placed for restaurants, the non-catholic graveyard and the organge garden and a short walk from central Rome. It is also well placed for the Pyramide metro station. The staff were excellent - very friendly! A very enjoyable stay.

As a solo traveller, this hotel offers a fairly good price. Location is excellent and you could able to find some local Italian restaurants which are much more orientated than those in Landmarks.

good hotel in an interesting area.

a bit off the beaten track and not lots of facilities, but room was fine and the area is interesting. close enough to walk to some parts of historic rome but far away enough that you get good local restaurants. check out the pizza at Pizzeria Remo, a 5 minute walk....
