It’s in the heart of town and easily accessible to amenities as well as tour pickup point. However to note that there’s no lift and be prepared to haul ur luggages if u are assigned rooms on the 2nd or 3rd level.

A great stay. Worth coming back.

Great place to stay, conveniently located with a Bonus Supermarket 5-10min away. Functional kitchen with dishwasher. Nice bed. It's also near the lake and City Hall so it has a great view with cute ducks and geese :D Size of room good enough to open 2 large luggages but I won't complain having more space. Pans are on the small side + really old but still functional. Notes: 1. When you check in, there's a stairs with a signboard. Go up the stairs and buzz them. They will let you in and if there's no one, grab an envelope on the left with your name. It will contain the keys. 2. Tap water in Iceland is really nice. When you first turn on the tap you will smell sulphur. Having said that, just turn it to cold water and it will switch to glacier water instead of water from the hot spring and the glacier water has no sulphur smell and tastes great. 3. Iceland is really expensive; even groceries so if you intend to cook, bring dried stuff like instant noodles over and leave the purchases for fresh food.

Great Stay

Apartment looks new and is kept clean. Location is near sightseeing and many restaurants. WiFi is slightly weak. Water kettle and Clothes drying rack are provided. Greatly enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend it.

Good location to the city Central

Very centrally located near the Heart of Reykjavik though we were initially perplexed at the lack of staff when we were checking in. Our doubts where cleared as we were reassured there were housekeeping staff around. Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a supermarket nearby for our needs. Great place for families who might need to cook for their young children or anyone who does not need the frills of a hotel

Cheaper alternative than hotels and bigger rooms

Clean rooms great toilets and location is quite good. A short walk from town but it depends on where town is for you. It's right smack between the older part of town and the shopping street so it's actually good. Quiet as well. Overall good service.

Best spot to explore iceland from

Great place to start exploring Iceland. Great neighbourhood. Most amenities within a short walking distance. Apartment 10 which we stayed in was perfect for 2. Well designed and compact kitchen and toilets. Full kitchen provided! With the price of dining out in the city this was fantastic!

Great location

The bed is a little soft to my liking. The floor board is rickety and we were awaken twice, at 1am and 4am from the noises above our room, on 2 of the nights. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay.

Great location

I booked an extra night on accident and when I called they will not do refunds. Got there and hear was off and windows open, cold as crap.People above me were loud and woke me up everyday. Didn’t like that they would come in my room everyday and put my chocolate in the fridge. If I wanted it cold I would’ve put it in there. Good location but wouldn’t go back

Quiet area in Reykjavik but in walking distance to the Rainbow Street area. 5 minutes from a grocery shop. The apartment had all the right amenities supplied in the kitchen - toaster microwave, fridge etc that helped us make dinners rather than go out every night. Comfy bed and secure system to enter the property. Very quick communication from the owner. A pleasant stay.

Great communication and directions to the property. Apartment in excellent location and easily walkable to Reykjavik centre with its many shops, supermarkets and eateries. On street parking available nearby which is payable but plenty of spaces available. Accommodation was as described and had everything we needed, serving as a great base from which to explore Iceland.

Excellent Location

The location of Castle House Lux Apartments is ideal. It’s right next to Tjornin Lake and within easy walking to downtown, shopping areas, and pickup spots for tours. There is a large supermarket within a 5 min walk. The kitchen is small, but functional with a 2-burner stove and a small refrigerator, which was sufficient for our needs. We were able to cook all our dinner meals there. Our rooms were very clean. The 2 upstairs apartments with a balcony require climbing a set of stairs to the front door and another longer flight to get to the room. This could be an issue for those with mobility limitations. It was cool and wet most of the days we were there, so we didn’t make use of the balcony. The management staff replied very quickly to emails and messages. When our delayed luggage was to be delivered to the apartment, Castle House provided someone to meet the delivery person as we weren’t available for the delivery to our room. They also have a storage room to hold luggage for a few hours if needed pre/post our stay.

The apartment was great and very close to the city center and other attractions. We walked everywhere and the bus stop was only 2 blocks away. I would recommend this apartment and will stay there on my next trip to Reykjavik.

Great location near bus stops and restaurants and shopping streets. I needed information about where to leave luggage on our early arrival off a cruise ship. Email wasn’t replied to but luckily a resident was able to advise us to leave in the apartment lobby.

We were very happy with our stay at Castle House. Location was great apartment was fine, we would have liked the floors to be a little cleaner or for there to be a broom or vacuum cleaner left for us to tidy up.
