Amazing views, everything else was OK

The view from the room was utterly beautiful. The room itself was fine - a bit 1980s dated but everything worked and it was comfortable and there was plenty of space. Hauling luggage up to the third floor with no elevator was a bit annoying.

A distraction or inconvenience for staff

We rented two units, a Pacific Crest Condo and the Family Beach Cottage. 1) the Condo Experience: The condos are managed by the adjacent hotel, almost as a sideline. We pulled into their lot that said Overflow parking for Owners and Guests as it was the first driveway. We noted two numbered parking spaces and an otherwise vacant graveled lot. We parked and took our luggage up to the room. While my wife was unpacking the car a man came out of the private residence by the pool and yelled that she couldn't park there. She said she was just unpacking and he yelled again that she couldn't park there because it was just for owners, not renters. Again, there were no cars in the entire lot and it was just beneath our room. The room was fine. Somewhat more spartan than a Holiday Inn but with a nice little kitchen and a balcony overlooking the beach, so no complaints there. 2) The cottage: When checking in (at 2:30pm) we were told that the cottage was being cleaned and we needed to come back in an hour, which we did. Then we were told they couldn't find the keys. I asked where it was and was given a non specific wave to the back of the building and a back there. I went to see what it looked like and there were two buildings there, one a upper and lower duplex and the other a single unit that said Beach House They were numbered 4,5,and 6. I came back in and asked which one it was and the clerk looked at me like I was stupid. I asked which number was it and she said there were no numbers. An hour later, they found the keys and she said, in a tone that said I was annoying her, to follow her and guess what?, it was number 5. The place was nice but very small. A double and bunk beds. It was for my three adult daughters who liked the room but had to unpack in the small living room. Again, nice view of the beach, no balcony. I wouldn't try to stay there with more than three people, four if two are under 12. It is walking distance to the Nye beach shops.

The check in process was so great! The staff was so friendly and made sure we knew about filtered water in the lobby, cookies & treats from the local bakery, games and movies along with other amentities to purchase as well! He walked us over to our house and showed us our parking spot, made sure we knew how to get down to the beach! He was top notch and so kind! The house is absolutely lovely and quiet. 10/10

Great location, views and beach access. The condo/cottage we stayed in could use a bit of updating. There was no soap to wash our hands, trash can liners and the dishwasher was full of dishes when we arrived. Staff was very nice. Overall, great location and would probably stay here again.
