Good location

The hotel is in a good location, just next to the whaler's village where there are activities and food. It's along kanaapali beach, which i heard is the nicest beach in Maui. However, kanapali beach is quite far from the airport, about 45 mins drive, so be prepared to pay about $90 Usd for cab ride if you're not driving. The room is spacious and has a beach view. However, the swimming pool is small which pales in comparison with the other hotels nearby. But overall, I'm satisfied with the hotel stay and will consider staying there if I visit Maui again.

Excellent Condo + Amazing Location

Our experience at 'The Whaler' was just too good! We booked an ocean view room and it was totally worth it. There was a lovely balcony with a nice view of the ocean (even though it's not ocean front and rather from the side of the building the view was still amazing). The condition of the property itself was really nice - the bed, kitchen equipments, bathroom, etc. On our usual holidays, we always eat out in restaurants but we liked the property so much that we ended up cooking at home a couple of times and staying in for b'fast/dinners on the balcony or even watching movies. They have free dvd rentals that came in handy. The property is RIGHT on the Kaanapali beach so you don't have to do any walking to get there. The beach in front is clean and amazing. Also, it's right next to the Whaler Village which is a shopping/food area so that was very convenient as well. The Whaler Village is also a bus stop for a bus going into town (Lahaina) so that was really easy for us, since we didn't have a car rental as we don't drive. All in all, excellent location and property. The staff were very nice and helpful as well.

This property is beautifully maintained with golf-course-like grass and colorful flowers. The receptionists are all warm and helpful. Location is very conveniently situated between Whaler villages and other beaches. The bathroom shower ceiling was opened and revealed the dusty vents which was not a site I wanted to see but nonetheless the room was clean and tidy!

Location location location! This is my favorite place to stay in Maui! This is my 3rd time staying here and 3rd visit to Maui. The condo is centrally located and next to the Whalers Village . Depending on which side of the hotel you're staying in, it overlooks the village which I like. I love sitting on the balcony and people watching. This condo is perfect and have all the amenities you want and need. It feels like home away from home. I love the full kitchen, self serve laundry unit (located by the elevator on each floor) and a trash shoot (also located by the elevator on each floor) and free underground parking. The beach is right in front of the hotel and a beach walk pathway which you can walk along the stretch of Kaanapali. The Whalers have plenty of shopping, dining, ABC store and a bus and ride share stop. Will definitely be staying here again !
