Cozy and cute!
This adorable A-frame home served as the perfect get away on a few cold & dreary winter days. Two couples grilled up some nice steaks (a few handy spices were in the cupboard), played some board games (from the stash in the closet), watched movies on the big flatscreen tv and kept toasty by the fireplace. Firewood was supplied for the 1st night and we easily picked up some extra bundles of wood just down the road for $5. The homeowners were communicative and paid attention to all the necessary details. Just remember to bring your own towels and toiletries.
We thoroughy enjoyed our stay! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has NOTHING to do with the cabin or the host. It was a logistical thing...
We got lucky and arrived at 3:55pm, so we were 1st in line and check in at the office was relatively quick. But there was a long line out the door as we left and the receptionist was not the warm and fuzzy type that you would expect to be greeting vacationers. Additionally, renting a place in the Hideout community adds amenities fees to your stay and, at least in the winter, you don't get much of any amenities for those fees. There was no snow, and the lake was mostly drained. I suspect the summer months offer more to take advantage of, so just keep that in mind. Again, Nicole DID mention the amenities fees during the booking process, so there wasn't a problem with the host/property owner. And as long as you budget for it, I think this place is great!
