The apartment was new and clean inside out. The communication was excellent. It is located in a beautiful complex. However, after finishing the one-week rental and returning home, I received a message from the person in charge asking for $160 for the electricity bill for the one week we stayed there. I questioned how we could have incurred so much electricity when the unit was a relatively small two-bedroom apartment. I asked a friend we know who lives in Punta Cana, who informed us that there is now a way a monthly bill for a two-bedroom apartment could reach $640 per month. The person in charge did not wait for my final answer and opened a case with Airbnb. The latter resolved the case by paying the man the $160 and apologizing to me for the mishap. I did not appreciate the gesture, given that we faced two water leaks inside the apartment when it rained for three days. We called the person in charge about the leaks. They fixed the one and not the other, which was a leak coming from the bathroom ceiling, and they always had to wipe out the floor to use the bathroom. In the 11 rentals I have done, I have never seen such a complaint before. I wish the rental owner the best and hope he will pay more respect to his future guests.
